Let's run the wishbone/fullhouse package with Williams, Johnson, and Allen I'm excited about Johnson though, I never realized he transferred here, he was i think the #1 RB in the country out of HS, and a 5 star recruit, hopefully he can contribute.
-
Realtimerpi lists you as 58...I'm right you can't subtract...But how bout these apples? Pitt has had 3 straight top 25 recruiting classes in football.Have they had a winning season in the past 3 years. You guessed it, no.No one really gives a sh*t about your recruits. Unless they morph into your walk-ons bodies and play with your starters this year in the JAR, it doesn't matter.
-
OK everybody now. 75 minus 58C'mon I know you can do it...that's right, carry the ten to the one's column...7, then a 1.THAT MAKES 17, GOOD JOB KIDS!!!!!so anyway...you're 17 not 18 "better" than us.Once again, going back to history. The MAC is better THIS YEAR!!!not last year, not next year, BUT THIS YEAR!!!shut the hell up you haven't won anything yet, and don't plan on it.if you do it's gonna be a looong ride back to Virginia.

Everyone you hear that? We have to "respect VCU" on OUR BOARD!! I mean yes they're good and all...but we suck? You've beaten teams better than us? Your CAA friends think you got shafted? Give me a break. You guys beat Maryland (66 RPI) and Houston (65). We beat Temple (69) and Ohio (51). You're all uptight about it not helping RPI. The MAC HAS A HIGHER RPI!!! AND GUESS WHAT?!?! WE'RE IN FIRST PLACE!!! You know what, if you beat us at home, it's a great accomplishment, and it would be nice to see someone give us a good game. But please, we aren't entitled to it? We've won 22 straight games!! Took Dayton to 2OT at Dayton. If we think the VCU Rams are gonna beat us, you're out of your mind! I'm a little worried about the return game next year on the road, but guess what? YOU'RE COMIN TO THE JAR THIS YEAR BABY!!!!

Please...what I call sucking is having one NCAA appearance in the history of your school as a 15 seed in 1986. What I call sucking is having 26 wins in a year and still getting passed over by not only the NCAA but NIT as well. You can talk smack when you actually do something and have a history as a team. Gimme a break. Austin Peay has been to more tourney's than Akron at least.VCU is a pretty good team. Beat Duke and took Pitt to OT, I was a Pitt fan before I came to Akron, I was from the Burgh...but Akron sucks? Hahaha I didn't know the current status of a team was judged on our 20 year history of being D-1. I can't wait until we beat you by 20 in the JAR.

If I was a player, I'd take it as an insult, know that he isn't satisfied with how I'm playing. I think it's a smart play on KD, along with his shuffling of players, keeps everyone hustling, playing 100% because they know no one is untouchable.

Who would've ever thought the Odd Corner would start such a political debate

We aren't getting much love on the CAA boards. I think they're in for a little surprise. Especially our 6'7" center...may turn some heads huh?

You have to think that anyone on the other block would help with that. Even if Mcknight hasn't been as sharp as we would like, he's gonna make a 5 foot layup, so he has to draw some attention. If Wood can just get some positioning down on the block, I think even if it draws more attention to himself, it leaves the shooters that much more space on the perimeter. If in fact, if he is the only presence down low, he's bringing his double teams to the arc with him, and it's giving the shooters less space, in my opinion.
-
I think it would help tremendously if Wood didn't consistently get the ball 15-18 feet from the hoop everytime.

I feel you. The people walking around campus in their suckeye garb really irritate me. I wish I was big enough so I could punch them in the mouth and tell them YOU DON'T GO TO OHIO STATE!!! YOU GO TO AKRON YOU PIECE OF SHIT!!!!But that wouldn't be a good idea, so i'll just proceed to tell them they havve nuts on their chest and leave.

My prayers have been answered

Teams have been killing us down low lately, how about going to a zone. CMU is 2/9 from downtown, it doesn't look like their shooters will kill us. Either that, or stop with the traps down low, and rotate quicker so there isn't a wide open man on the other block.

OK this was somewhat clever but not that amazing. I'm sure if people dressed up in Akron gear came over with a sign we would do the same thing... thats like me sitting in a lecture class with 200 students and in the middle of it going "OH BURN, I'M NOT IN THIS CLASS, IN YOUR FACE"... LOLI liked it. You guys were brave souls to be down there amid the classes, vulgar, quite-less-than-creative unwashed masses that are your average Can't students. Once again, the AK-Rowdies shined brighter than the Can't students at the MACC. Good job!Yeah because flicking off people and "golden shower" chants are sooo classy.Dude what game were you at? Every time I looked over at the Can't section there were at least 10 people flicking us off. Golden shower? I don't recall that one, maybe a few people tried to start it, but it surely didn't catch on with the whole section. We sang the damn FIGHT SONG. Tell me that isn't classy as opposed to "f*** Dials, and f*** the roo." Please. And the Can't students were one of the weakest students sections I have seen in quite some time. Woohoo you have 1500 students at the game. Who gives a shit if you guys don't cheer until you have the lead. There was silence from that section for about 30 of the 40 minutes. It's nice to have the numbers, but I would take the AK-ROWDIES any day!

I would've liked to see him back off...but if you have ever played a sport, you gotta stick up for your teammate. Either way, McNeese got a punch thrown at him or pushed or something, and I think it was better Milum stepping in than McNees (6'2"? generously...) against Q (6'10"). That could've been ugly. Face it, even if none of our players reacted, it still would've taken a miracle to pull it off. I just don't think it was smart to piss off the team that you just beat. Because now they have to come to OUR house against a team and its fan who are PISSED at that Kant team. I have a feeling we're gonna give it to them much like we did Miami. My two cents.
-
I see on Cant's site that the game will be on Time Warner channel 79...does anyone know if the University tv provider will be showing the game? (btw I'm going to the game, so don't flame me for staying home)
-
So is is safe to say, with the way we have been playing, that this game will be one of the better Bracketbuster matchups, and it will be televised?
-
The band side was full...but I don't understand it, first off it's D-1 basketball, good or not, you would think out of 24,000 students, 300 would show up. Second, we're pretty damn good too! Defending MAC East champs, 14-3 now, probably even getting votes to be ranked next week. there should be 500 or 600 at each game, I don't get it. But, I do think the marketing dept. could do a better job of advertising the games. The OU game, there were posters everywhere, and I received 2 e-mails about the game. Guess what? There was a line to get in, and the student section was sold out!!! That said, the students shouldn't be so apathetic where they need to be reminded when each game is...
-
Marlyand just upset UNC...with OU's win over Maryland, does this affect our RPI at all?
-
HAHA my favorite thread over there, TOS and Bubba...They complain that the officiating was bad!!! WHAT?!?! We got screwed so many times it was ridiculous, take off those green and white glasses over there!
-
If you are a member of the Rowdies, sit tight. Keep an eye on your email, and go to the games on Thursday and Sunday to ask around. Whatever happens, don't blab about any plans you happen to overhear, no matter how awesome they might sound.Hmmm sounds pretty good, thanks!!
-
Just wondering, with the Can't Statecks game coming up...If anyone can help, does the Univ. sponsor a trip over there for the Rowdies, or are they on their own in getting tickets? Just wondering, I'm a freshman here, and I want to go, but I didn't know if I should go ahead and get my own tickets, or if there is some sort of trip planned, like Buffalo...

I kind of think the MAC was very inconsistent this year, it was so hard to gauge (See BGSU beating us by 40, a 7-0 game between us and Miami, and Miami beating BGSU by 40). A different team showed up each night for every team except Central Michigan, who unsursprisingly ran the table on their MAC schedule.

How did the Rowdies section look/sound? Loud and full, or half empty as usual?
