maybe, just maybe, it cost money to set this thing up? and the 50 dollars will go towards setting it up? could that be? they'll be lucky to get around 200 people I would say. 1000 bucks isn't a very big 'fundraiser.' and considering the fact that the people that will actually show up probably donate much more than 50 dollars to the University, I doubt that this is a fundraiser. I think it's a nice classy event, be happy you get to experience the place before others. and be thankful the University is finally acting like it gives a damn about the fans.

Played baseball against Astorino. He was the top basketball player at McLane, top football player, and a hell of a baseball player. no surprise he went D-1 anywhere.

I would watch them at canal park. i wouldn't at the field they play at, at least not often. i love baseball, i've played for 16 years, but my high school field has more seating, nicer dugouts, and our facilities weren't even the cream of the crop in our district. the place sucks quite frankly, and i'm surprised they get any D-1 recruits to begin with. I think it's incredibly stupid not to share Canal park.

As it stands right now, we do not need a new arena. As awful as the JAR is, it is not sold out except for a couple of games a year. When seasons start to get sold out, then they should look at building a new arena. There is no long term evidence in sports proving that "if you build it, they will come". They might come for a season or two, but when the excitment ends over a new arena, the big crowds will end. Let's see what football attendance is in three years. The last thing UofA needs is a top notch bb program with a 9,000 seat arena that sits half full for 80% of the home games.like I said, in 10 years...
