  2. Golf Outing sold out.
  3. Got a name: Malakiah Hunter. I can't find any info whatsoever on him.
  4. He might be a walk-on. I don't know for sure. He also played at the SG position, which we are thin at. I should have a name for the player in question in a little bit, and I'll post it here once I do. Also, from a completely different source, I heard one of the current basketball players is transferring to Lake Erie College. However, the info is less than relaible and I won't believe it until I see official confirmation. It was brought up in passing when the Nicely transfer was announced that one of our bball players was going there as well, but I think and hope they are mistaken.
  5. Yeah. Also remember he tried to take coach Kest a while ago?
  6. The record doesn't tell the whole story. He took a program that might as well have not existed and developed it into a program that could compete in the MAC. The pieces are in place for the next coach to succeed. Let's hope that fact attracts some top candidates.
  7. We may be bringing in a PG from Philadelphia. Stay tuned.
  8. I remember back when he was pretty much the only media coverage we had.
  9. This is probably the best look at the situation I've seen so far.
  10. UA's Bliss Institute gets $2.8 million gift
  11. Between him and the senior RB from Cincinnati, I think our depth at the position has been shored up for this season. Chisholm is still the #1 guy, with Alexander behind him, but that was pretty much it. Maybe coach Bowden is bringing in players to push the incumbent starters to perform better, like he has done at QB with Dalton Williams. Maybe this is to keep Chisholm on his toes and keep him from getting complacent.
  12. Maybe we can rent it after the Olympics and use it as a temporary home while the JAR gets demolished and replaced.
  13. It's a small private college in Painesville. I'm pretty sure it's been around at least as long as UA. They just added football a few years ago, though. It's close to home for Nicely and I'm sure he'll do well there.
  14. http://www.ohio.com/news/local/stow-munroe...ressel-1.309157 VP Tressel visits Stow HS
  15. http://www.ucfathletics.com/sports/m-footb.../052112aaa.html A short opponent preview/breakdown like this is something I think GoZips.com could do. Doing all the little things like this is why UCF is moving ahead.
  16. Cool pictures. A shame we were too far east to see the really interesting stuff.
  17. EJ Thomas continues to struggle.
  18. The ACC will dissolve before the Big East does.
  19. It has a lot to do with conference TV contracts. The MAC hands out maybe $300,000 to each school for it's contract with ESPN. For the BCS conferences that number is astronomical, while at conferences like C-SA and the MWC it's $1 or $2 million per school. Both our revenues and percent subsidized would improve if we made an extra million dollars from TV.
  20. http://www.cleveland.com/sports/college/in...t_the_evol.html An interesting read with some interesting questions.
  21. The future is all we have. We can't rely on our past to get us an invite. I would rather be surrounded by and associated with universities who strive to be better and to get to the point where they can move to a better conference, than with the stagnation and complacency that is the MAC.
  22. Whoever it is that is dead set on joining the Big East is hurting our chances of doing just that. We can't just jump from the MAC to the Big East (Temple was an exception, having been there before and playing most sports in the better-respected A-10). You have to join C-USA first if you want in the Big East. By trying to skip that step, we're making sure that we never actually go anywhere.
  23. Liberty University announced today that they intend to move to the FBS. I think they're eying the MAC and the Sun Belt, but I don't see how a private, religious college with more controversies than accredidations and 80% of their enrollment through online classes fits the MAC University profile. In reality, they're not even the close to being the most attractive candidate in their own state. I doubt the MAC even gives them a sniff.
