    If coach Bowden is interested in having a show, he should ask coach Dambrot what he thinks of the basketball show.

    If Dambrot takes this job (he won't), it would come down to him believing that our athletic department can't get the job done.

    I understand, but it's hard to demand changes when you're outnumbered. Eventually if you can't do anything you have to break away to be able to do things right. Wait too long for the unwilling to change and you'll fall behind with them.

    They're trying again because they're out of ideas. Everybody they have approached has said no. All their top targets declined them and they're making one last push before they have to come up with a Plan B.

    I can't argue with that list of Akron,, Buffalo, Ohio, and Toledo. That even sounds like a solid core of northeasterly a conference. But it takes at least 5 schools who have played together in order to split away. Who would the fifth one be? WMU tries but just can never get anything going. Would they do better if they left the MAC schools that surround them behind?

    Just saw that Duquesne is making a "second run" at KD. Man, they're desperate.

    This is a stupid idea and gives off an air of desperation. They feel the need to do something to show some kind of creative effort to market their program.

    It's better to have the surgery now and recover over the summer than to put it off and maybe miss time in the fall camps and some games.

    So Duquesne wants Dambrot. Big deal. Illinois wanted Shaka Smart and three other guys before they settled on Groce. The only thing Duquesne can offer is money. The A-10 NCAA paycheck allows them to offer about $750k per year compared to Dambrot's $400k, and the MAC is gaining ground in that regard.

    I would say he's more likely to declare for the draft than to transfer. Also, I have "sources" that have said a myriad of different things about what DJ Cooper might do. People who want him to stay will believe the sources that say he will stay, and people who don't will believe the sources that say otherwise. In all, I'd say there's a 30% chance of him leaving.

    There's been a lot of talk among MAC and CAA fans about the MAC potentially adding a trio of teams that would include James Madison, Old Dominion, and either App State or the U of Delaware while bringing in UMass as a full member.

    OU is already losing one of their players, TyQuane Gourd. He was one of two freshman on the team and saw limited minutes this season.

    Not so much a question for coach Bowden as a request to get the story on some of the new players. Of course, if coach Bowden can tell you, then go for it. What caused Akron track athlete Phil Ferguson to sign up for the football team? What's up with former Cincinnati RB Quentin Hines?
