The fact that this topic is being debated at all is a sign of how naive our fanbase is. EVERY school reports paid attendance. Sometimes paid attendance matches up to actual attendance pretty well, sometime it doesn't. But if you think that ANY school reports less than the maximum number allowed by the NCAA you're incredibly foolish. Why are we even discussing this?

Another road win today would go a long way in the standings.

The athletic department, as a whole, is in better shape than ever before. We have the best academics in the MAC for the first time ever and we get the most bang for our bucks in the country. Most sports are as competitive as they've ever been. Don't let the football team's problems overshadow how good of a job Wistrcill has done in making us excel in all sorts of areas where we have historically lagged behind the rest of the MAC.

Its too late to hire Fickell. Any recruiting good-will we might have seen from his OSU connection is gone. if you're looking to hire an OSU castoff, Tressel is the guy you want. Who knows, he might even bring in Fickell as a coordinator and then you get the best of both. Some people are great coordinators and assistants, but don't have what it takes to be a head coach. Unfortunately it looks like Fickell fell into that category. He's probably better at it than Ianello, however.

My favorite is the EMU announcers saying, "If there's a way to beat Akron, it's the running game." All I could think was, if you don't have to throw it, why would you? *sigh* Yeah, the season statistics can be deceiving if you don't look beyond the surface. Aside from VMI, no team we played had any reason to throw the ball. It's not like that we've been shutting down the passing game.

I think it depends on the individual school's broadcast capability. With the MAC network set up and the conference pressuring schools to use it, it should become easier for schools to begin broadcasting events. Keep in mind that the network has only been around for a few months. Hopefully next season we begin to see all away MAC events streaming online.

I don't know. A QB has already committed to us for the class of 2012 and he said the coaches told him he would the the only one in that recruiting class.

Probably a good thing because it helps eliminate large talent disparities in match-ups that you sometimes get with a limited pool of teams. As a road team I hope we get a TV game against top competition. Plenty of good options to choose from. Utah State would be the top team, but there are plenty of good options like NMSU, Butler, Iona, and more.
