Well, think we can go from 1-11 to winning the MAC in just one season? Watching the championship game, Miami's coach was really fired up and was intense when addressing his team. I can't see Ianello ever showing that kind of intensity.
Would it be any different than the last time we hosted it? Or when we had the Olympics? There's no country in the world more prepared to host events of this magnitude than the US.
Center Ice is in North Canton very close to the airport. Here are their website's directions.
It's unfortunate that their next game is at the exact same time as the soccer game tomorrow.
Amen. Why can't the MAC set up a UStream site like them? It's simple enough to just run the feed from the upper camera and sync audio with the radio feed.
That win put our RPI back up to 23 and our SOS dropped from #2 to #5. Games against Temple and Minnesota coming up would likely put our SOS at the top. A win over one of them and also beating UIC could get us a top-5 RPI.
The Horizon league uses UStream. It's simple, it's free, and it works great.
Akron uses something that they built themselves. Its complicated, it costs money, and it hardly works.
There are 15 semi-finalists. 1 from Cal, 1 from UVA, 1 from Butler, 1 from Monmouth, 1 from Maryland, IU's Will Bruin, PSU's Cory Hertzog, and Louisville's Colin Rolfe I can confirm so far. That leaves 7 spots.
Miami's turnaround began off the field.
This section sounds familiar. Will the same style pay off once Ianello gets more players who can handle a disciplined environment?
The library today is mostly used as a large study area with some books. It's a place you can study with friends and classmates away from the noise and chaos of the student union. You can also borrow textbooks from there, if you don't feel like buying them. It also has the most available computers for student use. There's an A/V room, a very large tutoring area, a coffee shop, and a walk-in tech support desk.
Bierce has books, sure, but that's only a small subset of services it provides for students.
Maybe it's enough to put the ribbon all around the Info.
or finish Coleman Commons
That would be nice, but I think it's going towards a major renovation of Bierce Library. Most of the construction is currently happening in "behind the scenes" areas at the moment, but once that's done I think they'll move on to the main areas.
I can't seem to find a copy of it online.
I did, however, find this page on UA's website. Lots of things going on to advertise the university that i never knew about. It also has a "UA in the news" list of UA-related articles.
Fights, threatening the referee, red cards flying all over. It was a mess. And that was just what happened after the game. Things got chippy from the beginning.
There was this incident. The kid who got punched (Silva) received a red card while the aggressor only got a yellow.
Then there were complaints about the ref not calling this a handball in the box.
I can't find video of what happened after the game, but it ended on a Cal goal in OT that was very much offsides but not called as such.
In all, Cal had three yellows while UCSB finished with one yellow and four reds (three after the game ended)
We might be on their list, albeit pretty far down.
They would look at LA Tech first, based on geography. Maybe one of the Sunbelt schools from Florida to replace UCF. NMSU as a travel partner for UTEP, or they could go after MTSU and WKU.
MAC schools just aren't in the area they want to be associated with.
TCU would have run wild over the Big East in football this year. I think they might even see a step down in SOS. Their basketball program isn't all that great, but give them a few years of recruiting with the Big East label and things will surely improve.
This does put the BE at 17 basketball schools. It's getting quite unwieldy. There's also a strong rumor that UCF is next on the list to be included. The only thing keeping them out is Villanova, who is sitting on the fence. Villanova says no to upgrading, and UCF is in.
Well, that throws a massive wrench in things. The rumors were there, but i thought it was just fanciful thinking because the logistics are much too complicated.
I expect the MWC will invite more teams on a reactionary basis in the near future.
