  1. He just verbaled William & Mary according to Scout. Had more FCS offers than FBS ones. I don't think we're hurting too badly in the future QB department. In addition to Dylan Potts who got some playing time this season, Zach D'Orazio will be on campus next month, and we have 3-star Kyle Pohl coming in as well. And if Matt Rodgers ever gets healthy, we have plenty of depth and hopefully one of them turns out to be a game-changer.
  2. I know everybody's mind is on the Championship game for tomorrow, but the basketball team is also playing. This is one of the "big three" games on the schedule. We've had a very long rest to get prepared, and Temple is coming off a major victory over #10 Georgetown on Friday.
  3. I didn't like the Ianello hire because he wasn't even a coordinator. I would have been fine with hiring a coordinator, someone who has called plays and had position coaches under him.
  4. Another game with contrasting play styles. Michigan played the typical Big Ten power ball, using a physically dominating style of play. Akron's possession game worked well against it because you can't bowl over the opponent on the way to the goal when you don't have the ball. Louisville plays with a high-flying style. They like to keep things in the air. So long as Akron can intercept those jump balls and high passes and keep the ball away from them, we should be able to shut that aspect of their game down.
  5. New offer: C Vinnie Rizzo, JUCO
  6. You would be the same guy in the Miami forum last year ripping on their 1-11 coach. Why don't you cool it until the guy gets a chance to recruit and put in his systems. It is getting annoying to read and I am sure potential recruits visit this site. I know it would really make me want to come here and play. A good coach can find a way to win using players that he didn't personally recruit. It's a sign of trouble when he can't do anything until "his guys" are at every position. It's also making excuses.
  7. Video interview with Kofi after the match
  8. ESPN's semifinal video recap
  9. Not dead. Not yet. So long as the remaining five members stay together until 2017 (5 years after the schools leave in 2012) the WAC will remain an NCAA-recognized conference. The rule is 5 teams for 5 years. So if one more team leaves, the WAC is dead until after 2017 when the new core is together long enough to satisfy NCAA requirements. If the WAC dies, they lose all automatic bids in all sports. They would continue to be eligible for bowls in football, even BCS bowls because the NCAA doesn't control the post-season for the FBS.
  10. 1946-2010. Incredibly, the championship drought for the MAC goes even farther back than the one for NE Ohio.
  11. I knew all was right in the world when I saw the speedo behind the goal on the 55" TV right before Akron scored the game-winner - the Rowdies came through again! Way to go guys!!!! The goalie must have turned around and saw him. Hard to focus on stopping a shot when you know Speedo Guy is standing right behind you.
  12. I saw a pic of the Barley House. It looked packed, but then again it's the Friday night after Finals week.
  13. Haha! According to Twitter, the Rowdies had set up camp directly behind the UM goal just before Kofi scored the game-winner. Might have had an effect. He admitted to being afraid of them when we played at home.
  14. There it is! Michigan really had improved since we last played them, but we held on.
  15. Soo close. Come on, Mattocks. I want you to score so you can tie this Soony Saad kid.
  16. I'm fine with sitting on the lead via the possession game, as long as we confine our little game of keep-away to their half of the field.
  17. Reggie Corner ready to battle the Browns.
  18. The Rowdies really picked things up the minutes before that goal. In other news, I think I just gained a couple dozen gray hairs.
  19. Not possessing nearly as much.
  20. Looks more like Michigan has adjusted to us than the other way around.
  21. Both goals in this game came from very far out. Akron, however, is getting lots more looks close to the goal.
  22. We're seeing so many chances but keep putting it wide. I do think we figured out their defense.
  23. Anybody wondering about the owner of the Tap House's commitment to the Zips and their fans, just know that he's curently at the game.
