Texas DC Muschamp going to Florida Remember all you people hate UA for hiring Ianello because he was no a head coach. Muschamp was not a head coach. Florida didn't seem to have a problem with that. So, do you think that hiring a recruiting coordinator is comparable with hiring a Major D1 D-Coordinator? I think a pertinent question might be: Prior to, and ever since, Akron's (err, TW's) obsession to hire Ianello, was there ever ONE college---at ANY level---which ever considered hiring this guy as its head coach? I'll go out on a limb and say...."what, you crazy?" But TPTB at Akron always know better. The answer is yes. San Jose State of the ailing WAC had him as a finalist in their coaching search last season, but Ianello chose to come here before SJSU could make their final decision.

He just verbaled William & Mary according to Scout. Had more FCS offers than FBS ones. I don't think we're hurting too badly in the future QB department. In addition to Dylan Potts who got some playing time this season, Zach D'Orazio will be on campus next month, and we have 3-star Kyle Pohl coming in as well. And if Matt Rodgers ever gets healthy, we have plenty of depth and hopefully one of them turns out to be a game-changer. I disagree on the QB depth issue. Potts and D'Orazio are both spread offense QBs. More runners than passers. True, and I don't think either of them were recruited to be QBs. Pohl, however, is a highly-rated pro-style QB. But maybe the transition from spread to pro is easier directly out of high school compared to how Nicely had to do it. Especially if Potts and D'Orazio spend the next season redshirting.

While nothing has been announced yet, there will be changes to the staff before next season. Look for an area HS coach to be named as a new assistant.
