  1. Thanks for putting in the work to do this, Balsy.
  2. Bobcat fans blaming the refs. Unbelievable. We got no help from the officials, and I think they were even avoiding calls on OU so it didn't get further out of hand. If one team fouls the other team way more often, they'll get called way more often.
  3. If Ohio plays like they did against Miami, Akron will win. The good thing is that Akron should be well rested and Ohio should be very tired.
  4. I ranked the Z as last. It just doesn't look good on anything but baseball hats. The A-Roo looks the best. Fear The Roo is the most widely recognized.
  5. Triple OT, please.
  6. Link is here: http://gozips.com/athletics/emails/tom/2013-14/march_12_2014 under "HELP US FIND OUR BRAND IDENTITY".
  7. Total attendance at the Q last year was 34.5k
  8. Is their schedule easier this season? I'd be more inclined to follow Zips baseball if they had actual stands to watch the games from. Or lights so they can play in the evening. Or a field that doesn't flood after a mild drizzle. Or if they played a home game before their season was already half over.
  9. According to here it will be on March 21st.
  10. I've said that every time they've released conference honors, pre- or post-season. How she doesn't even make honorable mention is ridiculous.
  11. Did you watch the game?!
  12. If you weren't there or didn't watch the stream, you have no room to talk about those officials. They weren't qualified to ref a rec league game.
  13. All I wanted to do was post a better detour for the interstate closing.
  14. I can't post anything in the 2014 MAC Tournament Watch thread due to a 403 error. I can't even use the "preview post" option. Everything seems to work fine everywhere else.
  15. I came away from this game proud of the Zips, but absolutely disgusted at the officials.
  16. 1,183 students. Previous record was 947 vs NDSU last season.
  17. Kwan had an incredible debut game, and has done little since then. I think he needs to alter his play style to fit his size. He would make a great SF if he developed some moves to get to the hoop from the perimeter, but right now Deji has stepped it up and Harney is back, so I don't see him getting many minutes there, and his outside shots aren't falling.
  18. Just play like they want to win. And try to limit Forsythe's time playing defense. He gets burned by athletic players.
  19. Can't State fans swore up and down that Chris Singletary was a clean player. Reality was that he was just really good at hiding his punches, until a camera caught it at just the right angle one day. McCrea leaves the same trail of crumpled up opponents in his wake. This isn't a one-time thing that just Akron fans talk about. Getting back to the thing with Kretzer this season, the problem I had with is is that they called a foul on him for getting his head busted open by another player's elbow. How does that work?
  20. I think a big reason the crowd for Buffalo responded well is because Buffalo brought some students and vocal parents. If Can't brings a few loud fans, but doesn't bring much of their regular crowd (with their down year it's a possibility), I think we'll see a nice and active crowd again. Hopefully everybody at the Buffalo game saw how much fun it was to actually cheer and they decide to bring it again.
  21. You realize that it was Mardi Gras. Instead of bobbleheads, they should have given out blue and gold beads. Give masks to the students. Play it up.
  22. Last year, when the students were breaking attendance records, the idea of a student section in the upper south bleachers was played up pretty heavily. This year, not a peep. It's inconsistency across seasons that creates the problem. How many different student seating sections, slogans, promotions, and whatnot have been tried for one year, only to be abandoned in favor of a different message the next? Every time a slogan comes along and the students go out and buy the shirts, it gets abandoned and it becomes uncool to wear those shirts. Also, the problem with moving the students to a side section isn't with having all the seats filled with donors. A large portion of the blue chars are owned by companies. The problem is that it's all scattered throughout the seating area, and the season ticket holders resist the idea of moving to a different section than the one they've sat and mildly cheered in for the past twenty years. It's certainly possible to fit the students, season ticket holders, and corporate tickets in, but it would require moving and consolidating where those types of tickets are within the lower bowl.
  23. If they ran the ball that often, they were not getting very good results.
