  1. Coach Stroud must be popular with his players.
  2. http://www.coloradoan.com/story/sports/college/csu/football/2014/04/25/former-csu-running-back-alexander-transferring-akron/8144753/ Doesn't say if he has to sit out or can play immediately.
  3. Easy sell: Make them sit on the JAR bleachers for several hours.
  4. BG's arena cost $30 million, but it sucks. EMU's arena would cost $43 million today, and that's very close the design that I hope we get. UA's proposal is surprisingly expensive.
  5. This is just "Plan A". Throw it out there, and hope it passes. If not, we begin to look at alternative ways to fund it. This is the ideal scenario, and you have to make an attempt at it even if it is a long shot.
  6. From the email I got:
  7. https://www.uakron.edu/im/online-newsroom/images/2014/1-4/docs/arena-resolution.pdf
  8. WBB is substantially less of a drain than at least twelve other sports at UA.
  9. It's good that UA is being transparent in their presidential search process. Clearly wanting to avoid the controversy that Can't State is currently struggling with.
  10. Unrelated. He just got a job coaching the boy's team at Mansfield St. Peter's.
  11. If it's true, nobody could argue that she doesn't deserve it. Still, I'll wait to hear something from a source other than a blog that looks like they took their CSS out back and shot it.
  12. I like this part: "He was the Bulldogs' top free-throw shooter at 85.4 percent." It would make sense, assuming Mike Brown keeps his job in the near future.
  13. Nobody is "defending" anything because it doesn't need defended. Spending a scholarship on a one-year player who put up worse-than-mediocre stats at a position that is fairly far removed from the top of the priority list isn't a good plan. Use that scholarship on a lineman.
  14. He's already transferred twice because he couldn't beat out the competition.
  15. Interesting, but I don't see him winning the starting job. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/10418525/nc-state-wolfpack-qb-pete-thomas-transfer-final-season There's a connection there with Zips QB Nick Hirschman.
  16. Our basketball team will be hopelessly fat next season.
  17. Winning makes you relevant. Maybe they can use that money to redesign their arena.
  18. http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/10702122/tracking-every-transfer-2014-offseason-college-basketball Here is the list of every known player that is transferring out of a D-I program. Any that are noted as "Will graduate" are immediately eligible to play. Looking over that list, there simply are not many guards transferring in general, and even fewer that can play immediately. And most of those are combo guards. Hands down, the best option out there is BYU's Matt Carlino. Almost every team in the country would kill to land this guy. Outside of Carlino, there's KC Ross-MIller from NMSU, Terence Smith from Tennessee-Martin, and a big gamble with Quinton Chievous from Tennessee. Nobody else stands out.
  19. https://twitter.com/coreyevans_10/status/454712632134885376 "Robert Morris, Akron, and Ohio have all reached out to Evansville freshman transfer guard Tyler Ptacek"
  20. Baseball sweeps Ohio with a 5-4 win today. 9-3 in the MAC, and 19-14 overall. Just one win away from matching last season's conference win total. Already four wins past last year's overall win total. Generally, you need at least thirteen conference wins to get into the MAC tournament.
  21. https://twitter.com/TerryBowden/status/455115622423093248 Coach Bowden tweeted a clearly photoshopped pic of a new helmet. It's like the inverse of the gold chrome ones. Matte blue with a golden Z sticker. I like this one a lot. They probably haven't had the stickers made yet, so a photoshop is all we're getting for now.
  22. Don't think I'll be able to make this one. Still, the weather should be great.
  23. He needs to hit the weight room.
  24. At least according to his Twitter. https://twitter.com/AntinoJ/status/453003465024110592 He's a 5'7" PG from Texas. http://www.hudl.com/athlete/o/1250641/highlights/51672379
