The Zips begin practice on Friday 10/14!!! Hoping that GoZips and others will use this thread to provide updates, insights, and information on the initial weeks of practice leading up to the season opener. FYI -- I did hear that the MAC Championship rings were in!!

From what I've heard it is Mississippi State as the 11/9 game and the 11/18 - 11/20 games will be played at Valpo. We will play Valpo and Duquense (A-10). I don't know who the 4th team/3rd game will be in that sub-regional.

It's never too early to begin the 2011-2012 Men's Basketball schedule thread. MAC Sports has the OC schedule but I'm more interested in the OOC schedule. Here's the 'few' dates that I have: 11/28 @ West Virginia 12/19 @ Youngstown State 12/29 VCU If anyone else has dates, please update this thread. (FYI..these dates were validated on the team websites.)

I'm actually here in Pittsburgh. There's a guy on Twitter that's at the game giving me updates. I wish I was there too! Latest score: 75-37. He said that Zeke is playing well. Blocking shots and finishing. They have no answer for him.

I don't know where Zeke will be when the season gets here, but last week he said that he weighed in @ 235 lbs trying to get to 240 - 245.

I agree Zach. Nik is a prime example of breaking out and moving to the next level in his Junior Year. Nik averaged 5 points a game as a sophomore and had a great Junior season. I also believe that Zeke is hungry for more after reaching the NCAA and will have a break out year.

Nik spends a portion of his summers in Serbia (goes home to see the girlfriend). He did the same thing the last 2 years.

I've heard two things: 1) The team is planning a trip to Canada in August to play a few games exhibition games. I believe Harney, Treswell, Walsh, and Gilliam are all eligible to play in these games. 2) The team is looking to play in a Major Pre-season Tournament.
