  1. i have an Idea, let's recruit a kicker sometime, preferably soon.
  2. Wagner is a beast
  3. Our O-line needs to take pressure off of Nicely
  4. Well if you had a time machine, you could go back to 1949 and prevent the geneva convention.
  5. thanks, that reminded me that I need to eat. Unfortunately not Chick-Fil-A.
  6. I get it STZ, we need to show progress. If we have a winning record in the MAC, that will be showing progress. I think we can beat Syracuse as well.I think if we reach bowl eligibility we are headed in the right direction. The 3-3-5 will never be a good run stopping defense. I think the only way to raise this program is to lose the base defense. We play our corners too far off of receivers, They've got a free pass to gain 3-4 yards before contact. We can allow the corners to play closer in a cover 2. Also, it's easier to tackle when the receiver is still securing the ball. That opprotunity ia negated when we play off so far. There are lots of small things that can be done to get this team better.
  7. I agree.. Our fans seem to have this cry now, rationalize later mentality as soon as they hear any bad news. I don't understand it. Every program runs into situations, some worse than others. I don't think our situation is that terrible. We lost two games, to teams that are undefeated and in a BCS conference. I'm not saying we couldn't have played better or won at least one of those games, I think every team drops a game they should have won at some point. This doesn't worry me, the toughest part of our schedule is behind us. I don't know how many people noticed, but we have a lot of underclassmen getting major playing time, that tells me that after they get a few games under their belt, they'll make drastic strides. These are all Underclassmen starters:Jake Anderson, RT, SoMatt Rodgers, QB, SoManley Waller, CB, SoDan Marcoux, NT, SoRhyne Ladrach, TE, RFrBrian Wagner, LB, RFrOther notable impact underclassmen: (Our RB stable outside of Alex Allen)Dale Martin, RB, SoDeVoe Torrence, RB, RFrNorman Shuford, RB, RFrI'm sure there are others that I've missed, but you get the point. We have a lot of talented youngsters that we'll have for several years.Did I mention we have two 6'5'' Freshman receivers that haven't seen playing time yet? We have a LOT of upside! There's not a team in the MAC that we can't beat, I'll be happy with a 5-3 conference record, extatic with a 6-2 record and a W against Syracuse. Good luck Zips!
  8. Matt Rodgers becomes more comfortable, the O-line gets it together, The backs run for 170+ yards. The defense plays superbly. Zips win 34-17.Matt Rodgers16 of 23 for 260 yds 2TD, 1INTAlmondo Sewell 2.5 Sacks, 1 forced fumbleDan Marcoux 1.5 SacksSean Fobbs 1 forced fumbleManley Waller 1 Int off a pass deflected by Brian WagnerI just got my Crystal ball recalibrated, I should be right on with this one.
  9. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3baQGb2zIYHere's a highly motivated performance for you!
  10. I love this guy - no prisoners. This guy must know something that vegas doesn'tHoo Hoo Who???http://www.vegas.com/gaming/sportsline_ncaaf.html
  11. Antbody know anything about this kid? He's a 3 star RB(33) 2,387 yards and 31 TD's last year. First Ohio Mr. Football from Stark Co.
  12. I think this game has no bearing on the Akron/ Syracuse game. Syracuse has nowhere near the same caliber front seven on defense that PSU has. As long as our O-ine holds, our skill position players will tear them up. As for our defense, I think they did pretty well vs. PSU. The only problem they had was they were on the field too long and too often. We should manage field position a heck of a lot better in the game vs. 'Cuse.
  13. Anytime OSU loses I think it's a great loss!
  14. Well he's high on us. My only concern is how fast is he? If he can run a 4.7 or better with good lateral movement, than offer him.I'd give him a shot, he sounds like if he doesn,t work at ILB, at least he's versatile. He might be a project for a year or two.
  15. I'm as excited as anybody as well. GameChngr44, thank you and your son for everything you have done, and will continue to help our beloved program.
  16. Tear down The Chapel, perfect location
  17. I've been dunked on, nobody made a big deal about that....
  18. I can't be too thrilled about a kid with those 2 offers. Unless we are having an academic challenge team we need to recruit higher level athletes.I guess we should drop the student in student athlete. We've had athletes that were smart and able to contribute within the team concept. I remember a great play by one such football player that saved a big win for the Zips at BG at the goal line. I'm not suggesting this was his only contribution but may have been his biggest. Awesome play! He wasn't the most gifted athlete but stepped up and contributed. Anyone know who this was???? Smart and athletic aren't mutually exclusive. No, we shouldn't drop the student from Student athlete, but we should also be D-3 if these are the types of guys we are excited at signing. Can you imagine a BCS conference school being excited over this? I want to play in bowl games ever year, not win the GPA cup. If that happens along with it great.it is possible our scouts saw something in him few others did. Naybe he's a diamond in the rough..
  19. Win a bowl game, beat Can't, no negative publicity, and fill our new Stadium. That about sums it all up...
  20. Can you beleive they haven't signed JD to the same contract???
  21. Zeke could probably bust out a double-double even in those duds!
  22. I actually think that "the Outback" is a pretty hot nickname, that's what came to mind when I saw the thread name.
  23. I want a Keith Dambrot type at every position in Zips atheletics!
  24. Questions about QB play are unfair.I have a lot of faith in C Jacq. If he improves as much this offseason, as he did the last, we are in a great position. I beleive Jacq's sophmore season was ruined because the offensive scheme was taylored around Carlton Jackson, a much more mobile guy. I think we have one of the best QB's in the conference starting.
  25. That quote is simply the way things should always be, I'm lovin it like it's McDonald's.
