  1. I know a guy that picked us to the sweet sixteen, so don't worry about it. :thumb:PS Both could be right theoretically.
  2. You should have been on a Steelers forum when Cowher coached. Especially before Ben. Cowher didn't make as big as bonehead calls as i"Coach", but he did make as many weekly.
  3. I find it interesting that Towson offered Elijah too.Listed 53rd in the state
  4. “I had a bunch of players, which I appreciate, after the game come right up to me and say they liked the call, good call,” said IanelloIf this is true, this is the best thing that has come out of it. I wish a W come out of it though.
  5. My problem with that is that it is an option play. It should not be. You want to know why? Because you could lose a winnable game by one point. Exhibit A
  6. A little more detail here.
  7. Good for The Chisel. I would rather have a W instead of any stat. I would bet he would say the same. Losing sucks and I'm sick of it. Reading through some of these threads this week reminds me of PD writers apologizing for the way the Browns lose year after year. I think it's second nature in NEO.
  8. Someone needs to put this quote next to an action photo of him on the side of a building in Akron pronto!...I mean if you want to actually get a lot of fans at the games.
  9. The last part was supposed to be in jest. I tried using a smiling emoticon to imply that, but I guess I missed.
  10. I hear that place is unreal. I can't sniff a ticket for there. I was looking to go to a game on Dec 29th, check out the ticket prices for 4 if your bored!?!? If anybody has a hookup for that game pm me. Check out the schedule of events.
  11. With i"Coach", I'm happy to get the ball at least once after a coin toss. You can put me in the camp of kicking an extra point and tying it up and trying to win in OT. Momentum is an awesome thing in football.Plus we get a "free" practice out of the OT, good for a young team and an inexperienced coach. Going for two was a lazy way to make dinner time.
  12. Best case scenario: we look back at that half as the offensive turning point.
  13. Maybe he is a cold weather QB like Keith Byers was a cold weather RB!?!? Like an anti-Daniel McCoy.Students sit on the hill at Infocision Stadium waiting for good play at the QB position for Akron.
  14. Let's take a look back:In April, here is a 2 page thread titled Patrick Nicely , ....first when we start training camp -- iCoachIn July, here is a 3 page thread titled The QB battleIn July, before a starter is named, I predict we lose to Columbus by double digits no matter who the starter is.In August, JZ reports from practice that neither QB distinguished themselves from one another.Eight pages of debate when LR8 is named starter. The debate continues into SeptemberI get irritated when I read these generalized BS statements how everybody wanted or said this or that. There are some quality posters on this board, you just have to filter through some that are not. You can do this yourself by getting rid of the posters that do not contribute quality information/discussion to ZN"
  15. I never realize how many people were Globetrotters until I played softball with an ex-trotter and looked it up.
  16. Biggest question in my mind...does this effect (team's) GoZips goal of the sweet sixteen or not?
  17. Will he be able to see them with his current helmet? (I'm half kidding)When you scramble, shouldn't you be able to look down field? Equipment manager is KILLING us.
  18. DVR set.
  19. Sorry, I'm starting to lose my focus over all this bantering and name calling on ZN now a days. Your right, I was. Thanks for setting me straight. That's too bad. Rizzo seemed excited about being a Zip when he signed. Got ya. Well, he is right. I hear coach Tomlin say that a lot, it might be his favorite saying next to "splash play".
  20. I'm still interested, thanks for the update, it's appreciated. This would be more of a blow if the staff used his skills efficiently. Sucks for him. Sounds like a terrible idea. I'll put the over/under on turnovers directly resulting from this at 1.5 this week. In Akron? Yes, I did know that RI, I've been watching for decades. Did you know it's been even harder since you got here?

  22. I don't have a problem with running to the short side of the field if they can make the blocking numbers work. I don't see the games, but if we are having trouble blocking the strong safety, then lining up strong to the field and running backside isn't a bad idea if they can make it work. At some point, player have to perform. Agreed, but it was not effective once, I think the most we gained was one yard, we might have lost more than we gained overall. It seemed odd to me that after multiple times of it not working, they continued to try it. Every time they run it I kept thinking of that quote of RI's this week: "we have to be more effective on first and second down to succeed on third." That was not happening with that first down play. The one adjustment that I did see different this week, was the shotgun. I didn't count how many times we went out of the shotgun, but it was surely a record under iCoach. So I have proof that he can change something. BTW, shotgun, under center, same result. It did not seem to help the accuracy of LR8 at all. In fact, I think it was third and one once out of the shotgun, empty backfield, we ran a quick in to the WR and LR8 threw it about four foot over his head.
  23. No I am not. One of the biggest differences in the game to me was how Tettleton moved his team. 71% efficiency on third down, 74% completion overall. Made me jealous. Unofficially, I think I counted five times on first down that we ran off tackle to the short side of the field. That is the game plan we come up with coming off a bye week? Attack the short side of the field on first down with the run?
  24. Recapping the poll, the majority of voters were wrong. The only thing that the majority got right was that LR8 would not complete more than 50%...close one though.Only 6 people thought we would lose by more than two tds. Only 6 people thought The Chisel would not rush for 100 yards. But 15 people were right about LR8, he didn't complete more than 50% of his passes.Odd stat of the day that I don't think any Zips fan would have bet on: take away The Chisel's 17 yard run and he averaged 1.5 yards a carry on 20 carries.
  25. Fun? I couldn't think of anything more depressing. This isn't about LR8 vs PN7. Zips fans just want to see good play out of the QB position so we get to watch some wins.I'm tired of losing.
