  1. Kato only had 209 yards combined for the game. The Zips only had six penalties. Ulysees lead the team with twelve tackles, and the Zips lost by 13. No winners this week.
  2. A little? I would say that is a lot. Love it. ??
  3. "Iowa State receiver Hakeem Butler caught five passes for 174 yards and two touchdowns against No. 5 Oklahoma. Coach Bowden said if Oklahoma didn’t have a defensive back that could cover the 6-foot-6 Butler, he’s not sure his team does, either." I hope the answer to this question continues to be an effective/creative pass rush. I thought they did a nice job last week.
  4. Shawn broke his fibula, and had a cast and was on crutches at the end of the game. He was supposed to have surgery this week. He will miss the remainder of the season, but wants to try to come back next season if possible.

  6. 0-2 on FG attempts vs Zips. Missed a 44 and a 45 yarder. 5-5 on extra points though.
  7. College sports madness awards Brian Bell. Kato named to Davey O'Brien Great 8 list for week 3. This week’s eight honorees, as determined by voting from the award’s selection subcommittee, are: Anthony Brown (Boston College), Alan Bowman (Texas Tech), Taylor Cornelius (Oklahoma State), Dwayne Haskins (Ohio State), Kelvin Hopkins, Jr. (Army), Kyler Murray (Oklahoma), Kato Nelson (Akron), and Tua Tagovailoa (Alabama).
  8. I do. Kato Nelson was 22-of-38 passing for 322 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions and added 45 yards rushing to help Akron beat Ohio 37-34
  9. Not that any ZipsNation member wouldn't have guessed, but Alvin Davis, has earned Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors for the East Division. Is there an award for all the conferences? I didn't watch every game, but I can't imagine a defensive player accomplishing more this weekend. I'll mention this again, Alvin Davis stole (intercepted, and probably scored) Brian Bell's defensive player of the week award.
  10. I often enjoy the background reaction to the action being photographed. The players and coaches on the sidelines, the cheerleaders, the crowd, even the referees sometimes. Look at the photo of the Andre Williams touchdown celebration. Notice anything interesting?
  11. I was unable to make the trip, thanks to @Captain Kangaroo who was able to take a few shots from his seats while cheering on the Zips to victory.
  12. DEFENSE! Third and ten. One could argue the play of the game, the front four were Davis/Brady/Ward/Sampson. Four rushing ends. A+ coach Stroud. While Alvin is the obvious choice for player of the game (incredible returns), Brian Bell played the game of his life. 11 tackles (8 solo), FIVE passes defended. Five! No other defender had half as many.
  13. #FlyTheFlag ? ☠️
  14. @feetg10 and @zzx get the first three, and miss the bonus. Everybody is a winner! #FlyTheFlag
  15. BTN has a long way to go.
  16. Wow, good call. He must be healthier than coach indicated a month ago. Good for Mykel.
  17. Your right, Mykel was really good at it, but I don't think the front seven hitting his lower body is beneficial to the team right now. He worked too hard to get back to where he is for that. I agree to what you write above, if I'm reading correctly, this game could come down to Kato's efficiency.
  18. Reminder, the game is on the FoxSportsGo.

  20. • Offense left points on the board • Still not sure about DeMarcus Lloyd's injury, but John Lako will get the start this week • Counted six errors in judgment by Kato on film from Saturday • Johah Morris had success, but run some busted routes, he has great potential at 6'4" 207 lbs • Freshman have four weeks to play, and we can still redshirt them, we are still figuring out how to manage that, play them early, play them late, we will watch what other teams do as well • Freshman OL Bently, Kelly, and Fonte are going to play, we need them if a starter goes down
  21. Whatch the game with a TV login on BTN2Go. Lisa Byington will do play-by-play, and Dan Persa will be the analyst.
