  1. Not a real fair comparison. Program was at different levels while each coach was/is here. But given the choices JD is the obvious answer since he owns the biggest victories in school history. I hope in a few years the answer changes. It does make you wonder what the other two could have done with the facilities we have now though.
  2. I agree, reminds me of a James Harrison photo. 2009 Video takes a LONG time to load?
  3. UB's Starks to play role in NFC Championship game?
  4. According to Scout, there are only three 4 star DE's not committed, Brandon Alexander from Texas, Koa Ka'ai from Hawaii, Lavelle Lincome from California. Can't see any of those guys coming to Akron. There are 27 three star DE's not committed. Out of those 27, I'm going to guess it's Andre Sturdivant since he is the highest 3 star that is from the area and being recruited by Toledo. He has offers from PSU and Michigan. I would guess we have a small in since we have a Glenville relationship now, but I would be very impressed if iCoach can convince him to come here rather than Happy Valley. He might be waiting for a Columbus offer. Somebody called for it back in early Dec. Possible help to our chances?
  5. If you don't feel comfortable, then error on the side of caution. By all means, let us know after signing day. PS Brewton has an offer, and listed as a rivals two star.
  6. Does this superstar have a name?
  7. If he kicks FG's here, I would hope some student would have a big sign with a hole in it that said "Foxhole." He could stand on the rise between the posts when kicking at that end.
  8. Let me get this straight, a Charlie Coles led team scored 84 points against a team???? It's the most MU has scored on anybody this season in two periods. Coach K, I call him coach K because there is no D right now, needs to step up his game planning!
  9. I'll go out on a limb and say that iCoach did not want this kid. I'm not saying it's right or wrong. Would be a good question for a reporter that gets paid to ask this kind of question at the signing day press conference.
  10. Nice find. Photo source
  11. Photo source Was the Akron BJ there...other than Mike? Edit: Jacob found the BJ link here. No link on their Zips page yet.
  12. If the Zips ever get Revis & company to play for them and we are playing against Tom Brady, I'll advocate the 3-3-5 for a week. Bet the Jets don't play most of the time in the 3-3-5 this week. Ben will never have to pass and the Steelers will win 21-9. Jets D will be about getting pressure on Steelers patchwork offensive line. Rex Ryan is good at attacking a team's weakness.
  13. Since their rush defense was one of the best in league history, I would guess their secondary would be challenged more than most. The Jets (106 yrds) were actually the most successful running the ball against the Steelers this year.
  14. Yes. Better. That's what I hope our secondary is next year.
  15. You do realize, nobody was in this position last year. We had no person that focused on the secondary. Our defensive coordinator was also in charge of the secondary, we now have somebody that can focus with this group. NFL teams are even hiring secondary assistants, that's how Darren Perry started his coaching career. I'm excited about the hiring after watching our secondary last season. What we were doing was not working, I'm glad there was a change.
  16. I'm not sure what your arguing? Can you help me? Please fill in the following sentence "With the hiring of Tony Bouie, the Zips secondary will be ________" My answer is: "better" PS Fascinating that all those secondary's that you think "stink" in the NFL are in the top 9 in total defense in the NFL. PSS You think Cromartie is a better DB than Asomugha?
  17. Jason Taylor picks himself to win on CBS Show?, Marino continues to clear up why he doesn't have a ring on his finger. PS While he was in studio I hope JT got to ask Cowher the same question I got to ask him back in '97 "Did you even consider drafting Jason Taylor?" Turns out if Cowher traded his whole draft that year for JT it would have been a better draft class. No wonder Cowher got Tom Donahoe fired!
  18. That's embarrassing! How hard is it to make low res pdf's and provide? Here is the inside article on pg 20
  19. Thought the soccer fans might like to see this. Came in the mail last week.
  20. Legursky played one year in the Mac and was recruited while Marshall was in the Mac, so I counted him. You can discount him if you like. Briggs played at Bowling Green, if you are referring to Bigsby at UCF, yes he played in the MAC and was all Mac in 2002 and 03. Maynard was all Mac at Ball State '94, '95 and '96! Side note: Two of those I mentioned weren't born in this country. Mac recruiting...it's a chore.
  21. And a lot of times they do. Here are just four examples (guess what they have in common): Jon Hoke played in the NFL and now coaches the Bears secondary Darren Perry played in the NFL and now coaches the Packers secondary Ray Horton played in the NFL and now coaches the Steelers secondary Dennis Thurman played in the NFL and now coaches the Jets secondary One of these guys will win a Super Bowl. Tony Bouie (far right) will help the Zips be a better team.
  22. Did you read through the thread?
  23. (1) Jason Taylor is the only Mac player on the Jets. (9) Atari Bigby, Diyral Briggs, Tom Crabtree, Josh Gordy, Cullen Jenkins, Greg Jennings, TJ Lang, James Starks and Frank Zombo represent the Mac for the Green Bay Packers. (3) Brad Maynard, Chester Taylor, and Garret Wolf play for da Bears. (7) Charlie Batch, Antonio Brown, James Harrison, Byron Leftwich, Doug Legursky, Ben Roethlisberger and Shaun Suisham represent the Mac for the Steelers. Did I miss any, or make a mistake? Other than Ben (kind of obvious), this Canadian born Mac-man is my pick for, it may come down to this guy making a play that effects the game the most...say around 10:30 on Sunday night. Stay tuned....
  24. Miami TE makes rookie mistake when scoring first NFL TD during wildcard weekend. Photo of two Mac players.
