Nice find. Great article. I like what I read about Josh. Hopefully he is learning how to become a team player. I like the nickname "Rico" for AA. I hope it turns out to be a good decision to play this year. He seems happy with the decision.

The year Boz swung that elbow.

I say Holmgren will meet with himself, be blown away by what he hears and get a deal done for his new coach. (not my words, a Seattle Seahawk fan just emailed this to me and I thought it was funny)

How about, don't post that a certain coach is leaving our team and a certain coach is coming until you can actually prove it, instead of posting a bunch of rumors from unreliable sources. Somehow I think that lesson will be lost by some....AGAIN.

This thread didn't go at all like I thought it would. Interesting read. Nothing has changed my original thoughts though.

Personal attacks should cease.

I count 8. That was Brady Quinn's best game, I think he completed 6 passes that day.

This is probably the fifth time I have posted this. It amazes me every time I see a thread by a few people. You guys don't see the ones I edit either.

I wonder if that would be true if the Zips were able to pull out an upset in September. I'm sure walking out of the shoe tons of Columbus State fans would pat Zips fans on the back and say "that was a good fair game, golly gee your better than us" I would guess the words "luck", "suspension", "looked passed", "you suck", "all time"...would hit the top of the hatred list. It's easy to not hate somebody that you know you are better than. You almost feel sorry for them. You might even root for them in something minor. It doesn't make you better, and it doesn't change my dislike for the program. Just to stay on topic, here are the tattoos:

Cincinnati did a pretty good job of that last year. Their local radio ads were HILARIOUS, if you ever got to hear them. I thought so too. I posted those ads on ZN, but can't seem to locate them.

Seems to be the "sell" “I’m supposed to come in immediately and play,” said the 6'2" 295 lb Morris from Johnstown. Maybe he'll end up like this Johnstown HOF.

Easy question for me, took a nanosecond to figure out. Beat Columbus State. I've seen the Zips beat Ken+ PLENTY in my life time already. If you said 10 years, I would have to think a whole minute. PS The Zips team that beats Columbus State is NOT losing to Ken+.

The Frozen Four is televised on ESPN every year. College hockey holds the attendance record for the biggest crowd in ANY college sport. 113,411 k For anybody looking to to learn a little about hockey, or if you are just a sports fan, do yourself a favor and watch HBO's 24/7 series on The Winter Classic. There are two episodes out right now and they are repeating them all the time. I think you might be able to watch the first episode on HBO's website if you have a fast internet connection. I'll predict right now that this series will win some kind of award. It's AWESOME. Even better than Hard Knocks. Funny how Rex got some heat for cursing, you have GOT to hear the Caps coach curse. I just read in today's PG that tickets to the winter classic are now going for $439. If anybody wants to buy Dr Z a late xmas present, I would love to attend. Want to set attendance records at the Info next season Dr P? Call HBO right now and do anything you can to get them to do a series on Zips football.

I wonder if Mike will be on the 49'ers staff next year due to the firing. Might he end up coaching closer to where he played college ball? PS If I were a NFL football team that needed a premier WR, I would start talks now with the 49er GM about adding draft picks for the new coach to rebuild and see what it would take to get Crabtree. Just me, but Crabtree or the 49er's cannot be happy about his season there. Although, a move like this did nothing for the Dolphins this year, but I'd still do it if I was saaaaaayyy playing near a lake.

I couldn't give an educated opinion to your post until today. I never really got to see the little guy play before, and I can't judge a QB in recent years against the Steelers secondary. Why a team would ever run the ball against the Steelers is beyond me, but that's a different topic (see Tom Brady). I got talked into to taking free tickets to the Browns game yesterday, after swearing to never step foot in that stadium again. I knew the season ticket holders, and knew some people around the seats so I knew it wouldn't be sooooo bad. Being that the only game in the Cleveland market that was being shown was this game at 1 and my regular NFL package guy was out of town, I figured I would go an evaluate the little guy in person since that is the only real way to see exactly what is going on. I saw a guy that either doesn't have the arm to be an NFL QB, or a guy that is REALLY effected by the cold weather. I saw a lot of bad decisions, throwing into double coverage when others were open. The little guy seems to lock on to his receiver and doesn't really go through any progressions. I heard Aikman announcing the GB game yesterday and say that there are cold weather QB's and there are QB's that hate the cold. He mentioned he hated the cold and never played well in the cold. I'm judging all of this on watching the little guy for three quarters, but I'll keep an eye on it. For what it's worth I was listening to Marty Schottenheimer last week on NFL radio (sports fans dream), caller asked about the little guy. Marty politely said, I think Mr Holgrem is going to have to address his quarterback situation in another way.

I have a friend who has always said, "Tressel is one bad pass interference call away from being John Cooper"

You guys wanted a little more info. Vinnie was nice enough to answer a few questions. Welcome aboard, and good luck Vinnie! Where are you from? I am from Manhasset, New York. It's in Long Island, and I played my Junior College Football at Nassau Community College in Garden City, New York. What attracted you to Akron? A couple of my old teammates from Nassau Community College who play for the Zips right now (#25 Micklos Blake and #69 Pat McCloskey) always told me great things about Akron and I feel that I have a great opportunity to play as soon as I get there. How do you like the staff? The staff is filled with enthusiastic and knowledgeable men. I have a great relationship with them and I can't wait to be coached by them. What was your impression of the facilities compared to other places you may have visited? I was amazed when I saw the facilities. When you look at pictures of Akron's facilities, it's totally different from actually seeing them in person. InfoCision Stadium - Summa Field is gorgeous and I can't wait to play in it. What will be your major at Akron? I plan to major in Business Administration at Akron. Have you watched any MAC football? Of course, I love to watch college football in general. What position will you play? I'm coming in as a center but if they need me to play guard, I will. What are your goals for next season? Next season, my goal is to become a starter and help lead the Zips to a winning season. What would Zips fans be surprised to know about yourself? Zips fans would be surprised to know that my first love growing up was Baseball and that I dreamt of playing it professionally.

I'm probably not the average fan, but I like to see what talent levels are at practice, who is working hard, who is getting yelled at, who is getting the bulk of the work, what plays are being run, what is being taught to whom. After gathering this information, it helps me enjoy the game when I attend, it gives me more things to watch. I enjoy watching specific players away from the ball to see how they are performing to see if they are helping or hurting the player with the ball. It also helps get me pumped about the upcoming season.
