  1. Plus for the umpteenth consecutive time you get to hear Mr Cliche repeat "It's cold outside, but the Zips and flushes are heating up the JAR"
  2. Proper advertising of the event that happens there. If you didn't write "within reason", I would have went with "nice weather."
  3. When asked why we ran the "stack" JD's answer was "because it's hard to recruit DL in the MAC". That I will never forget. Never made any sense to me. Not a fan of the Tampa Two, I like an attacking style defense. I would rather dictate what I do rather than react to what the offense does.
  4. I've never watched a basketball game on Versus, but they do a fantastic job with hockey.
  5. Great videos, thank you. I like what KD is doing to keep Zeke out of early foul trouble.
  6. Marshall was 6-6 that year and lost to Akron. (S. Holmes won that game by himself against Marshall) I'm not trying to argue anything, just making lies with stats to try to give myself some kind of hope come September. I wish we weren't playing them this year. Nothing will start my year off worse than losing to them. My dislike for that business grows everyday when I read about the honks that support them.
  7. Columbus State vs MAC opening game with all their starters: 2004 vs Marshall (24-21) 2005 vs Miami-OH (34-14) 2006 vs Northern Illinois (35-12) 2007 vs Akron (20-2) 2008 vs Ohio (26-14) 2009 vs Toledo (38-0) Pawn Shop Pryor started 2010 vs Ohio (43-7) Pawn Shop Pryor started You be the judge if there is a difference when PSP starts or not.
  8. He sang in the choir, should be perfect. I'm sure he would love to promote his new CD. PS When I went to the Browns/Ravens game, they did a similar thing with a local "rocker", I can't remember his name though. IMO less famous than RO. He sang the national anthem and they did a little biography on the big screen where he claimed to be a fan. Steelers do the same thing with a local band called 'The Clarks'. I think this is a great idea.
  9. I would hope his drummer in his new band would do it with him.
  10. I specifically remember a former Zips head football coach saying how difficult it was to recruit defensive lineman in the MAC. He based his defensive scheme on this belief. Source for below
  11. Leave the purple at home just like the red/grey. Find some Zips gear! Henniger looked like he had two left feet yesterday.
  12. Bo knows...Auburn
  13. Great minds think alike.
  14. I'll give you credit for this prediction. Nice job.
  15. Jim Carey. Black Keys were good.
  16. I said this last year and I'll repeat it this year. Zeke plays his best in big games. McFadden hinted to it during the post game interview. Zeke gets "up" for big games, he is emotional. Now they need to get him to get like that for the games that aren't considered "big". I think of Ray Lewis, he always finds a way to motivate himself into a frenzy on game day, it seems to focus and pump him up for the game. Maybe Polamalu is a better example because Zeke is probably closer to Troy's personality off the field. I heard Tomlin speak about Troy recently, paraphrasing, "I never seen a guy that practices as bad as he does but unleashes fury when he goes out on game day" Congrats to Zeke. Congrats to the team. I was happy to see some nice passes (Rico/Steve) down low to Zeke. The value of Brett in that game should not be over looked. He was a difference maker. He did the heavy work in that game. He could have backed down anyone to the paint last night. Nice game Brett!
  17. Uhhh... what are you talking about? Can't's uni's? If you have ever been to a Ken+ game you know what ZW is talking about. Ken+ fans wear these pee yellow shirts that look like they all shop at the same garage sale.
  18. Yes. For me, it's too early for this game. I REALLY enjoy NFL playoffs, to schedule this game at the same time is a mistake IMO.
  19. Good interview. I learned a lot in five minutes.
  20. I saw the same thing on TV. All of that took place and I'm sure your written evaluation of the Browns QB situation will be appreciated by the front office. I'm sure they get thousands a week from Fantasy Footballers and they take them very seriously....By no means do I think McCoy is a Hall of Famer, but he can be a good player. He has to get better, but everyone has to get better in the NFL or the league catches up with you. If they could get some better players around him (attention Browns fans, Touchdown Tommy Hilis is not the answer), they could win more than they lose or at least go .500 within 2-3 years. Who are we kidding?........By then, Browns fan will have run him out of Cleveland for the next hot prospect. If you can stand to watch this amateur video, hit play, Tony Grossi has the same concerns that I did/do about Texas Colt.
  21. Good question. Yes it's always about the W. I would be happy with 6 wins next year. But I can excuse 4 or 5 if we are showing improvement. Moving the ball, converting third downs. Reducing penalties. Improvement on the the O-line and the secondary. Getting pressure on the the opposing QB. Having multiple players to get excited about on offense and defense. Can I also request some good weather days for tailgating that aren't on a weekday? I wish JD the best, he always seemed like a nice guy that worked hard to me.
  22. I think it was an article in the BJ where McClanahan stated something about coach is giving us more shooting time in practice. Steve was the first person I thought of. I hope he was able to take advantage and get back on track. He needs a couple early 3's to gain some confidence back. His shooting seems to find a way to get hot in big games. Ken+ is a big game.
  23. And to think, the Zips were one play away from beating Miami in November...
  24. Here is what I get from reading that article. I would think in college football, especially at Akron, you need a good long term (3 to 4 year) plan. Especially when you dramatically change schemes at the school you were just hired. By reading this article, it seems to me that JD struggles with long term planning and organization. I know that's a lot to get from one silly article, but that is what I think about when I read that. I'm really hoping that iCoach is a good long term planner. I'm willing to sit through one more season of ho hum football if our tree is going to bear fruit in 2012. PS I still reserve the right to get angry in the midst of next season.
  25. Somebody should video and youtube it so that it can be viewed by fans of ZN that can't attend the game. I can't get to a game on time let alone get there early enough to see pregame celebrations on a weekday due to work.
