I saw this on SI's extra mustard the other day. I think it's AWESOME! Entertaining and creative. I would pay attention to the halftime show if I were provided with this kind of band entertainment.

Not so fast my friend

Pancakes, second level blocking, a little attitude. What's not to like?

Ah, denial. And an utter lack of humility or responsibility. Now, (tap, tap, tapping my chin)...how much credibility does this guy have? It could also go the other way. He could play with a chip on his shoulder and go nuts on the stat sheet. Time will tell.

College Cup Final Game Thread

Those photos are awesome. Perfect condition for good photography. I went through all of them yesterday, great job Butch. -
It's catchy. I like it. I'm designing a shirt in the off season since I can't get my Wagner jersey.

Per the article you linked. Existing UA housing will be demolished to make way for the project. Curtis said the Grant Street town homes, a cluster of 28 buildings that can accommodate up to 150 students, are too outdated to satisfy today's students. The University of Akron is moving ahead with a public-private partnership to build a residence hall for 520 students. End result: 370 new. This should be enough to put off construction and let the Lot Niners™ continue for another 5+ years. In the meantime, the university will not have to tie up any of its capital money in construction, and Signet will assume the risk. If enrollment or student interest in on-campus living falters, the company, not UA, would be on the hook.

Your research is putting up some flags for me. Moore initially committed in June to play for Ole Miss, but the Rebels rescinded their offer in December. The reason is likely tied to an incident in which Moore was dismissed from the Louisville (Miss.) High School football team. The timing of the dismissal is particularly curious -- it happened at halftime of the team's state semifinal playoff game against Aberdeen. The Jackson Clarion Ledger reported that Moore got into a disagreement with his high school coach over an audible, though there's clearly more to the story. As a senior, the 6-foot-2, 205-pound Moore passed for 1,402 yards and 19 touchdowns. He rushed for 526 yards and two touchdowns. He injured his back prior to the season. iCoach seems to run a pretty tight ship. My way or the highway. So I'm guessing the dismissal was discussed. Hopefully he has grown up. Kids make mistakes.

I wonder if this effects Lot Niners™ If you look, these dorms will be replacing the townhouses, Grant Residence Hall, and Galucci. Original stadium plans had dorms going in Lot 9. I was told by nobody in particular that they ran out of money and were going to eventually put dorms in Lot 9. With these dorms getting approved, is there a need for Lot 9 dorms now?

I'm glad to see Brett come back. I hope he is focused on winning the MAC and working hard. I've never really been able to figure much out about who KD plays and who he doesn't. This year has made the most sense to me...so far. One thing I have learned, it really doesn't matter if you start or not on KD's team to get minutes. Sometimes, but not always.

I hear ya. So iCoach proves he can out recruit Dave Christensen at Wyoming Hmmmm From scout.com Moore: "I have the ability to lead my team and am a coach on the field. I can move the chains when they need to move. I have a pretty strong arm and good accuracy, but I want to improve my arm strength. I really like being physical, which I know sounds strange coming from a quarterback. But when I run, I like to make it worthwhile. Even if I take the worse end of the licking, at least I showed them I'm not afraid to get hit."

I'm very proud of you stating your source.

I wonder if Faust said, "By golly, anyone who coached at Notre Dame is a good coach as far as I'm concerned." Maybe it went more like this recomendation.
-
Were you the one that argued post after post last year how we didn't need a different pg, and #4 was a good pg, and used all kind of crazy stats to try to prove it? If I have you confused with someone else, I apologize.

Thanks for the link. I can't believe I just listened to WCan't State. I liked Amanda. Bluto is worse to listen to than read. S's kill him to get through those lips. Ssssssocer. Sssssecond. Sssssanta Barbra. Ssssssippy Bus. His best comment "crazy shootouts are like flipping a coin" I learned that the hard way last year. His worst "Mrs Lee had a lot to do with where Cliff signed" When I used to read the BJ, he would write this about every FA. Give it up already. What I learned: Akron was second in the country in attendance in soccer home games.

If somebody put a gun to my head and said "give Z one suggestion to make his game better or I'll shoot you", I would say footwork. I think he gets sideways on defense sometimes. That's when I think he gets in foul trouble. We need him on the floor as much as possible. PS I think this game will make us a better team come March.

I hope AA & QD continue to work hard. Both with 20+ minutes last night.

It's not their fault, you can't get the internet on frisbees or hacky sacks yet.

Source The search for Pitt's next head football coach has heated up over the past 24 hours and it appears, according to sources, that Miami of Ohio coach Michael Haywood is closing in on landing the job. Haywood was one of the first known candidates to be contacted and interviewed by Pitt last week and he is now the first one who has been brought to campus for a second interview as well as to meet with Chancellor Mark Nordenberg and other key people involved with the hiring process. A spokesman for Pitt would not confirm or deny the that Haywood is on campus interviewing and stressed that "the job has not yet been offered to anyone." But sources around both the Miami and Pitt programs believe he will have the job offered to him today and will quickly accept. If all goes well today, Haywood could be introduced as the next coach as early as tomorrow and then would immediately get started on assembling a staff and trying to retain most of Pitt's nationally ranked recruiting class. If hired, Haywood would become Pitt's first African-American head football coach. He has been the coach of the Redhawks for the past two seasons and has led them to a record of 10-15. However, that record doesn't tell his entire story, as he took over an awful program and, after going 1-11 in his first season, led the Redhawks to a record of 9-4 this season. They won the Mid-American Conference championship game over Northern Illinois. Prior to arriving at Miami, Haywood was the offensive coordinator under Charlie Weis at Notre Dame from 2005 to 2008 and had stops at Texas and LSU as well.

Why don't I (we) care more about soccer?
Dr Z replied to Big Zips Fan (220lb)'s topic in Akron Zips NCAA Championship Soccer
The Ol Chap is right! The commercials the NFL has now a days are totally ridiculous. TD, extra point....commercial....kickoff....commercial...play from scrimmage, uh oh, the ball might have touched a blade of grass on the reception, let's review that play....commercial....after further review the play stands as called....play from scrimmage.....injury time out....commercial....play from scrimmage, that's the end of the first quarter....commercial. Something needs to be done. I DVR MNF & SNF and start to watch them an hour after kickoff so I can ff through the advertising. -

If you are a fan of HBO, Hard Knocks, or the Winter Classic, a reminder that starts tomorrow.. I love behind the scenes sports stuff. I wish HBO 24/7 did this for Akron soccer. I would guess Tom W is in negotiations now for next season. -
I thought you learned your lesson when you posted that PN7 broke his ankle? For the umpteenth time, if you post a rumor, just post "I read a rumor on (provide link) that this coach is coming to Akron." Now the reader realizes that it is a rumor and where it comes from.
