  1. I received a nice survey in the mail last week from the university and took the time to fill it out to the best of my ability. I would hope some of our members here took the opportunity to do the same thing. If for some reason you did not receive it and would like to help by providing good feedback to help create an enjoyable game day atmosphere, feel free to answer as many questions as you like in this thread. (I paraphrased some of the questions) I'm happy stuff like this is happening. I left off the 10 suit and club questions.Q1 Are you a season ticket holder?Q2 How many home games did you attend?Q3 How many away games did you attend?Q4 If you were unable to attend the game, how did you follow the game?Q5 How many years have you purchased season tickets?Q6 Which tailgating do you participate in, pre, post, varsity A, zipfest?Q7 Do you visit a local bar or restaurant before or after a game, how often?Q8 Where did you get your primary information about tickets from?Q9 How did you purchase your tickets?Q10 What type of ticket did you purchase, ga, family plan, reserved, priority, club, loge, suite?Q11 Would you change the location of your seating for this year?Q12 Do you think the cost of a ticket is too high, low, just right?Q13 If you purchased single game tickets in 09 will you get season tickets in 2010?Q14 Please select each category to which you belong, faculty, parent of student, z-fund member, alumniQ15 Rank the following factors according to how important they are in whether or not your choose to attend a game. 2. Yes I heard the quote in question.I am surprised that nobody has had the same reaction that CK has had over the years. I've heard KD numerous times complain about the crowd on the post game show. I always took it as a slap in the face. I always felt he is complaining to the wrong audience. He is crying to the diehard fan that is listening. To me that is a disservice to his cause. I think his passion should be expressed to those that aren't attending games, the ones that aren't listening. I think the majority of people that listen to the post game show are the ones that attend the basketball game. I think once that our marketing savvy AD gets wind of this, it may stop.
  3. G-mann, do you listen to KD speak to French after the games? How often? I think that is the reference.
  4. Kohl's has some nice shoes on sale if you think $120 is too much to donate to Nike.Z Fund is a good place to donate too
  5. I understand your feelings, but the main reason I am excited this year is change. I was tired of watching both of our schemes fail. Both of those are changing this year. For a true freshman, I thought PN16 looked great at the end of last year. I think he is the real deal and I'm looking forward to his progress this year. Like it has been written many times here, I think there is talent on this team, and I'm hoping the new staff will get the most out of the talent we have. It's sports, you never know what's going to happen, if you did, you would be rich.
  6. I understand Browns fans a little more after reading through this thread.
  7. Not a bad article for Bluto. Gives you a small example of why RI is considered a good recruiter. Between switching the schemes, the staff he hired, and the recruiting so far, I am cautiously optimistic. Now for the important part...the wins.
  8. I have never been so excited about recruiting a fullback. Serious...and weird.“They are switching to a pro-style offense, so they don’t have a fullback in the system,”
  9. It would be nice if we had a shut down defender to put on those kind of guys.
  10. Who was defending Kool last night?
  11. Take those videos with a grain of salt. Best video I have ever watched of a recruit coming to Akron was this guy.
  12. I visit North Carolina often and wear Zips gear. I get comments all the time from NC State fans about Akron.
  13. I'll be happy if we can do the basics, run the football, stop the run, punt the ball with hang time, make a 40 yard FG. Everything after that is a bonus.
  14. From 1 hour of lunchtime study...I'm not positive this is our offense, if it is, either we run some kind of modification of it, or we don't run it very well.Where are the screens? I would think that Nik would be perfect for this, he should be setting screens left and right. One funny thing that I read was"as a general rule, you don't dribble much in this offense"Dave, funny, I read the same thing you linked about Temple over lunch.
  15. Thanks Hilltopper. I want to study a little more X and O's so I can figure out who is playing good offensive basketball.
  16. I'm astounded nobody can give this a complete answer. I guess I'll have to ask the AD.
  17. TV Ratings are far from hypothetical, very well studied due to the all powerful advertising dollar. Look up what share a prime time network first round ncaa playoff game pulls, then look up the other two scenarios. You'll be surprised. I realize this isn't the intention of the original post, but for the sake of knowledge for those who aren't aware, it's a nice research project.
  18. You were misinformed, I remember seeing the map state by state of whom was going to see what game, half the country saw the Zips/Zags game in prime time on network tv. I was at a sports bar and when the other game (I can't remember at this time who it was) went to half, they switched over to the Zips game. I'll guarantee that was the most watched Akron sporting event since I have been following them. Lots of people (non Akron fans) that know I root for Akron commented to me throughout the week that they watched that game.
  19. We have THREE national titles. 2009 Stevi Large NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship.2009 Jenna Compton NCAA Individual Air Rifle Champion.2000 Christi Smith won the heptathlon at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
  20. KD has been here for five years and nobody can expand on my question?
  21. Nice synopsis. Wouldn't it be fun to have some sort of "passion meter" on you during those events. The meter would go from one to ten. I would like to see my meter during three events. When the Zips won the MAC title game in football, when Miami made that last second three pointer in the MAC tourney to beat us, and when Virginia beat Akron in the national title game. I think it would read 9, 7, 2 respectively for me. Every fan is different, that's what makes sports so great. I was more emotional when Akron lost to Miami in basketball then when we actually won the MAC...weird?!? Us Zip sports fans are a unique bunch.
  22. What is the MAC record for career blocked shots?
  23. I like this topic. I don't think there is a wrong answer. How many Zips fans went to the Zips bowl appearance vs Memphis? How many Zips fans went to see the Zips play Gonzaga in the NCAAs last year? How many Zips fans went to see the Zips play Virginia in the soccer national title game? Not really apples to apples due to the geographical proximity, but you get the point.
  24. I thought Dambrot ran a motion offense. I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to basketball offensive schemes, but doesn't the motion offense involve a lot of screens? I don't see many screens now a days. I remember Andrick setting tons of screens in Hipshire's motion offense. Anybody else have more explanation to educate me?
