  1. If you are looking for a topic that might have already been started, or looking for an old reference in a thread, the "search" feature on this site can be a real help. It's pretty easy, here's how:At the top of the page there is a box that reads "Enter words to search for..."If you type in a few key words that you think will be in the thread, select "go" (circled in green) you should have success.Sometimes it takes some tinkering to get the proper words to get the correct results.search1.jpgIf you would like to search further back than 30 days you need to change the drop down at the bottom of the page (circled in red).search2.jpgIf you are searching more than one word, use the plus key (+). Example: +jason +taylor

  2. I hear that Terry Pluto will transfer back to the Beacon if Kehres gets hired. He is busy using the replace all function to change "Mount Union" to "Akron" in all his previous BJ stories on Mount Union. He figures he has enough articles to last 10 years. Terry is the first one to figure out "early retirement" in this shaky economy. Now if Tom can just make it happen. This will be bigger than his porn addiction piece (which I can't find to link here...anybody?).

  3. the guy is full of it...he has his guy already. If you think for one second your feedback matters then your out of your minds!! It will be funny when those of you that pick Loeffler think you had anything to do with it, when he got the job almost a month ago....hey keep believing ....Go Zips
I really don't care if he made his mind up or not already (which I think he might). I think it is pretty cool that he (or somebody) is personally answering everybody's email. It makes you feel like you are part of the process. I think it was Rasor who had a poll on his blog that asked what you would like to see out of the new AD. I believe "more marketing" was the answer. PS If he does have his mind already made up, his (or whomever) answer to my email indicates that I will be happy with his hire.Rump, why do all of your posts read so angry. Relax, watch a soccer game. B)
  4. At least Oregon teases the fans with the names on the back. I hate that we don't do it. Screw this team unity thing having ANYTHING to do with names on the back. If you want to get fans familiar with players, build fan interest, etc., it helps to have the names on the uniforms. And, to be brutally honest, if part of what a kid wants to see is his name on the back of a uniform, good for him. He has earned it. Why put even 1 recruit and fans that follow the game at a disadvantage by NOT having the name on the jersey. Sorry, we are not the NY Yankees or Notre Dame football.
I agree, put the names on the back. Better for the fans & players. Going out of your way to not put them on, makes the coach seem like he is doing something he is not. PS There is no difference between no names on the back and what Oregon does. You CAN'T see them. PSS The name thing is a much more interesting subject than if the uniforms look cute on the players or not. :D
  5. "I guess you could say I'm starting, but if you know Coach D (Akron head Coach Keith Dambrot), you can't say anybody is starting," said the former Nitro High School star. "He didn't have a starting five last year until the last quarter of the season. "He's looking for the five that's grooving together."
If someone put a gun to my head and asked me to complain about KD, here would be part of my complaint: I wish KD would establish a starting five and a leaner rotation. It seems to me that he goes out of his way NOT to establish this to teach some kind of team unity concept. I think he goes so far out of his way to do this that it actually becomes detrimental to putting the best Akron team on the floor during any given game. If he set his rotations earlier, rather than later, I think our team would be better off. His way seems to lend itself to injuries and suspensions and what not, but I would rather see some sort of set rotation. I don't believe he is "experimenting" with rotations that long. I can sit in the stands and figure it out in three games.Interesting article.
  6. To continue this amusing although irrelevant thread: The question is, which Oregon uniforms are you talking about? They have about fifteen, including at least four different helmets. A huge expense...
I was speaking of the ones they wore during the Arizona game. The names on the back are in white on a white jersey. The numbers were shiny gray. At first I thought it was a prank and they used duct tape to make them. Not a fan of them at all.If I lined up against any of them I would make fun of those girly uniforms all day long. The current Zips uniforms are way better. PS If a recruit decides on a school for the uniform, I don't want that recruit.oh yeah....:horse:
  7. I thought of these silly "new uniform" threads while watching the Oregon/Arizona game.Oregon uniforms are C-R-A-P !!! The names on the back are in white on a white jersey. The numbers look like somebody used duct tape to make them. They looked horrible. The current Zips gear is 100 times better. We have WAY better things to worry about!:horse:

  8. I don't care if the new coach hides in his evil lair and doesn't come out except for practices and games, if he wins football games, he will excite the community.
    1. Winning2. Winning3. Winning4-99, Yep, winningSomewhere near 999, the rest of the BS, good people skills, area guy, hot wife, nice guy, bad guy, ugly wife...etc.Cleveland media- Belichick is terrible, he has no personality.New England media- After multiple SBs, who cares what his personality is.
