  1. This was just posted on Footballscoop.com Mitch has been mentioned before. He was my first thought. Browning interviewed when JD was hired.Akron: We are hearing that Akron AD Tom Wistrcill is very close with Tennessee offensive GA Mitch Browning. Wistrcill as an associate AD at Minnesota when Browing served as the OC for the Gophers under Glen Mason.
    What is "offensive GA" ?
Check here for your answer. Grad Assistant.CK called this one (Browning) back in September.
  2. I don't see anyone on that list besides Winters that strikes me as a coach who would be successful next season. They all seem like the people who would try to blow up the program and start from scratch trying to bring in "their system" with "their players".
I would LOVE to have your thought process on how you come to that conclusion!?! Can you please explain for each candidate? BTW, four years from now, the new coach will have all of "their players" no matter who it is.
  3. Sources tell FootballCoachScoop that Athletic Director Tom Wistrcill is very interested in talking with Luke Fickell (Ohio State Co-Defensive Cooridantor/Linebacker Coach), Ron Vanderlinden (Penn State Linebacker Coach/Former Maryland HC), Scot Loeffler (Florida Quarterbacks Coach), Paul Chryst (Wisconsin Offensive Coordinator), Paul Winters (Wayne State Head Coach), Don Treadwell (Michigan State Offensive Coordinator) and Mark Snyder (Marshall Head Coach).
Here is the source on that info. It's under Saturday, November 28, 2009, you have to page down to see it. Listed under Akron.Luke Fickell BioRon Vanderlinden BioScot (with one t) Loeffler BioPaul Chryst BioPaul Winters Bio (for those of you not familar)Don Treadwell BioMark Snyder BioI think we have a good idea of the type of person Tom is looking to hire from this list.
  4. I heard that if JD got fired, then Nicely would transfer.
Give me your source. Not some bs "I heard" PN16 has the starting job locked down at a Div I school as a sophomore. Why would you leave that? Can you imagine a better situation at that age? If there is any truth to "what you heard", he is getting bad career advice and needs to reevaluate.I'm not a big fan of your subject "what you actually heard" How about what we know. As of right now, here it is:Wistrcill said a national search for a coach will begin immediately. He said a decision will be made soon about whether to hire a search firm to help or whether a suitable candidate can be found independently.source
  5. I thought it might be interesting to revisit what people had to say regarding whether JD should have been retained after LAST season.
I like going back and reading what people say or predict. I hope we aren't doing the same thing next year, because going backand reading what I wrote LAST year, is just how I feel this year. I won't go through another season watching this, it's too predictable.I just want to win.
