  1. I will on Monday if the majority votes "yes"
  2. With everything Zip football fans have dealt with recently, I'm considering starting the 'Seperated at Birth' thread to bring some sort of light hearted humor to The Nation. We nixed it because some thought it was a jinx. Can we really jinx this team? Maybe it will reverse the jinx. The poll will stay open until Monday. Majority rules. Feel free to comment.
  3. I have. Good luck to Matt. You don't have to give Matt's stats in high school, if you go to the recruiting section and search his name, you will see that ZN followed him since we heard he was interested in Akron. I understand you are new to ZN, but if you hang around long enough you will see the passion of the fans on our site. Of course you are going to read things that upset you, heck I do, but most people here are level headed professionals.PS If you look at the poll in this thread you will see that 76% of people support Matt as the QB against Ohio. You won't find that kind of support for the Browns starting QB.
  4. One of my favorite bottom 10's EVER...Lane Meyer's language lessons
  5. Our current situation makes me wonder what the score would have been if we played at Morgan State last week instead of CMU?
  6. So if we lose to Ohio and Buffalo, THEN you want to bring Nicely in for Syracuse?!?!? I don't understand that thinking.I am guessing that Rodgers gets a VERY conservative game plan against OU, if we can win without him losing the game, so be it. If we are hanging around but not winning half way through the third...my guess is that #16 makes an appearance. Same scenario would apply at Buffalo. After that I would have to reaccess the progress and situation.PS If we try to run the same type of offense that we have been, and don't "dumb down" the offense for #5, you mind as well start with #16 against OU, because most of us know what is in store. If I were JD, I would find the best 16 plays that you can run with #5 and practice those 16 plays for the next week and a half. If he is successful with those plays, you can add 30% more next week, and so on. Good luck Matt.

I posted a while back when they first changed it that I didn't like it at all. I'm finally starting to get used to finding things on it, but other than the roster, it doesn't do me much good. I think I also posted that it had the feel that it was designed by a left-hander, or for a left-hander.
  8. New Yorker, I'm not sure I understand the angle of your post. You seem angry. Maybe you are family. This is a hypothetical case, but consider this, Patrick comes in and plays well and takes over the starting job. Every good team needs a backup and I would guess Matt would be it, and I bet he would still get spot play as he did with CJ. Matt can still be a contributor on this team and I would bet the majority of Zip fans would want him too (me included). You seem new to ZN judging from your limited posts, but this sort of thing happened when Charlie Frye first came in. Nick Sparks the "other" QB at the time decided to move to WR and help the team. It takes a lot of people in the right positions to make a good team. I hope Matt finds his, whether it is starting QB, back up QB, or another position. As a long time Zips fan, I just want to win!
  9. Great point.Every time somebody posts "I just don't like burning his RS" I keep asking "why?" I haven't got a good response yet. What if Patrick plays and he can give us a chance to win the MAC east? We will never know unless you play him.
  10. You watch a different team than I do. Sorry.
  11. ...or give two weeks worth of first team snaps to Patrick and right this ship. I want to win now!
  12. 1-0
  13. Winning games would be the only reason.
  14. You are assuming that Patrick doesn't transfer if there is a new "regime" Does anybody think a QB can make a OL look bad, or look better? Is it possible Patrick could make the line look better by making quicker decisions and having a pocket presence?
  15. Sure it does, it's a great indicator of how they will perform in the future if things continue the way they have in the past.
  16. I would LOVE to know what these "big changes" are going to be. Change the offense? Change the defense? Personnel? Why weren't these changes done before? I'm not expecting much.
  17. I know this is opposite of the topic (in the nfl), but I didn't think it deserved a new topic and I thought some may find it interesting.Since Chad Ochocinco loves dancing in the end zone, could he be on TV's "Dancing with the Stars" next spring? Video director Matthew "Mac" Cherry, a former football player who was cut by the Bengals during training camp four years ago, says the show wants the wide receiver next season. The owner of Cherry Entertainment in Los Angeles says a producer talked to him about Ochocinco when Cherry attended ABC's live "Dancing" results telecast Wednesday night in Hollywood.
  18. Nice job. Most of the time I go back to read these "prediction" threads to see who seems to "know the team" It's good to consider the source when reading people's opinions. Mine included.
  19. It's hard being a Zips football fan now a days. As a fan, I now have everything I always wanted in a new stadium, so I'm just ready to explode with excitement, but this season seems to be spinning out of control. I always thought CJ was a good enough QB to win the MAC if he got a little help on the defensive side...bam, CJ gets suspended for the season. I pretty much knew the ability of the backup QB before he started his first game so I haven't been that hopeful that we will turn around this season. As it sits today, I'll still be at every home game like I always have, but my hope now turns to...just beat Can't. Anyway here are my observations from yesterday:Matt has taken plenty of abuse on this board already, so I will keep my criticism short; I think the one thing that can make Matt a better QB is to work on his pocket presence. He doesn't keep his eyes down field long enough before he abandons the pocket. I think the fact that he is a good runner outside of the pocket hurts his passing ability, he doesn't give his targets enough time to complete their routes. If I had to pick another thing he needs to work on, it would be the swing pass. Have you ever seen a bigger disparity in two QB's throwing the swing pass as you did in yesterday's game?I have been plenty critical of our defensive scheme. I hate it, but I actually saw some QB pressure yesterday for the first time in a while. We got Dan to throw a few balls away. I wonder how much of it has to do with Wagner? He is fun to watch. It's obvious to me that he has a nose for the ball. Sky is the limit for that guy.Jeff Phelps had one interesting thing to say yesterday (he's terrible btw). He mentioned that he talked to JD about the running backs and asked why he rotates so much. JD's response was because they all have different skill sets. Was it me or did Tuzze look like he had the skill set that I'm looking for in my running back yesterday? Every time he got hit yesterday he fell forward. He looked like he always wanted one more yard. I would like to see him get more carries. He looks like he can get us some first downs and help to win time of possession. It's hard enough to watch the Zips play, but that gd spinning mac logo for EVERY transition was making me coo-coo. Please limit the use of that thing. I can't believe I have to type that.I'm going to keep it short. I have a lot of terrible stats written down in my notes, but Zip fans can only take so much abuse. Even though the season seems like it has spun out of control keep in mind that football seasons are crazy, if you watch enough of them you are bound to be surprised by something. I wonder what surprise the Zips have in store for us fans next?
  20. I started this poll anticipating this weeks poll. After you vote please explain your vote.
  21. Now that is a good point. I agree, except I don't trust #5 passing the ball further than the "box"
  22. Nope, I still agree with me.
