  2. I'm not sure if I could come up with a post proving it, not that it is important, but I have NEVER liked this trick scheme. I was going to agree with QZ observation of "no halftime adjustments" and add the 3-3-5. I'm not sure I agree with the others listed as being JD's fault, but I will go with 1. Defensive scheme and 2. No halftime adjustments. I wonder if Indiana run off tackle left and off tackle right ALL GAME (no other plays), if our defense would ever be put in a position to stop it.
  3. Do I win first ever proper predicted outcome of a game on ZN?
  4. The current situation has finally made me press play on this years 'Big 33 Game' I like what I see from Ohio's starting QB!
  5. It really doesn't matter to me. Missing class, practice, curfew, drinking, or worse he is still out, that won't change. "With great power comes great responsibility"--Stan Lee (corny, but true)
  6. I feel like I got punched in the gut when I read this. Very selfish. Such a big game for the fans. Not fair to us. I don't want him back in there the rest of the year. I'll be rooting on the players that can follow the rules and have a team first attitude. Good Luck Matt, It's your turn to shine, let the cream rise to the top. Huge decision for JD if he is put in the position to burn Patrick's RS. I hope he does what is necessary to win. Go Zips!
  7. Put me in the Nicely camp. I'm looking forward to seeing him in the spring game.If you get a chance watch him on the sidelines this week. He has "warmed up" Rodgers at PSU and last week just before he comes in.PS Something tells me Nicely won't need to run. Just a guess though.
  8. Here is a quick CRUDE (I realize there are many people on this list that don't play for either team) comparison of the two teams set to do battle this weekend.I was curious as to what talent level Indiana was bringing Saturday and just thought I would share. Feel free to post your opinion. Here is 2009 Also:
  9. You do know you play in the "Big" Ten right? Make sure you stop back Sunday win or lose.
  10. Good one!
  11. Most interesting part of the link (Zips fans who attended Virginia a few years ago will appreciate this)Shouldn't Martin's response be: "Jarvis has a big decision to make if he wants to play football again, it is now a matter of his health. We are behind him in whatever decision he makes" Then he should shut and go back to coaching that gawd awful team of his and carry on as if Jarvis has taken his last snap.
  12. I like that article, and agree with it. That is why I feel that no rankings should be posted until week 6.
  13. You either don't watch much "Big" Ten football, or you are 95 years old. :)PS It doesn't matter what the line is, the better team will win.
  14. Speaking of radio and the Zips. I'll mention this because I did it. It doesn't apply to most, but if it helps one person so be it. I have an ipod touch that I use at the game to check scores of other games and get the zips stats LIVE since you can connect to wifi at the new stadium. Just another benefit of being "on campus."I figured out how to listen to the game through an app called Pocket Tunes, it's awesome in 10 different ways, I got Pocket Tunes because I have a Sirius subscription and I use it for that. But I have recently discovered you can pick up just about any local radio station by searching the city. So if your a Bengals fan and you want to listen to the game on Sunday just search "Cincinnati." Works for the Zips too. Unfortunately it's web delayed, but if you were just listening to get a description of an injury or penalty or a review it could work. Pretty cool for a sports fan for 6.99 on itunes.
  15. I'm not sure, I thought it was from the plant. Whatever it is, it made me laugh.

  17. Dan had 10 yards rushing Saturday. He doesn't need to run, but it is appealing to have a guy that is hard to sack. Think of the last guy that won the SB. IMO Pat White is the type of QB that NEEDS to run. I watched his first NFL pass Sunday....oh boy.
  18. I displayed my pass and saw many other passes displayed. I also saw parked cars that did not have a pass. If you wanted to park there, and didn't have a pass, I would try it this week and report back. Who knows, things may be different this week, they seemed (to their credit) be pretty relaxed with the "rules" last Saturday.
  19. It's supposed to be a nice day Saturday also, that should help.
  20. Spread the news: More teams adopting wide-open scheme that helps QBsGiven the impact and overwhelming success of the spread on the college level, it was only a matter of time before savvy NFL coaches started to study the offense and implement some of the basics into their game plans.Look at any NFL game each week, and the bubble screen, shovel pass or zone-read will pop up throughout the course of the contest. While those plays existed long before the spread became the rage, the innovative system has made them hallmarks of the offense. And their big-play potential has led to their incorporation into most NFL game plans. Two seasons ago, the New England Patriots shattered several league records using spread-offense basics as part of their game plan. Their countless quick screens to wide receivers Wes Welker and Randy Moss were taken right from the pages of a spread offense’s playbookWSJ Article on the SpreadWay Out On a Limb: The first time I seen Dan, I loved his mechanics, the second time I had this feeling was Saturday Sept 5th watching Patrick Nicely warm up in Happy Valley.
  21. Get well Gary.
