  1. I noticed the same thing. Seemed like the team off the field was VERY into the game. A very small sign that JD still "has" this team??
  2. I wanted AK-Rowdies hanging off the goal post SOOOO bad last night.
  3. Unfortunately in the 3-3-5 you have undersized guys trying to do the tackling. In a 4-3 you get some bigger guys near the line and viola...better tackling. I watched our 5 last night a lot. As a whole they look like they are still lost. Out of position a LOT.I've seen four DB's cover much better than our five (too many cooks in the kitchen.) We are wasting a position on the field. We are constantly undermanned and over matched on the line. Change the scheme.
  4. +1
  5. Missing the 27 yard FG with no points on the board was inexcusable. You must make an easy FG like that in that kind of game. It's deflating to the O & the D.Cruz (I'm pretty sure) dropped a good throw in the end zone that hit him in the hands, the chest, the belly and dropped down his legs. Seemed like he had four chances to catch that ball. The false start that moved us out of FG range happened AFTER this drop. Should have never happenedif Cruz catches that ball. Killer. The two point conversion that could/should have won the game for us was a poorly designed play. How do I know this? Because 5 Buffalo defenders figured it out and had our WR covered.I really wish after our receiver figured out that he was covered that instead of running out of the back of the end zone he run across the goal line to give us any kind of chance of winning the game. Why did we not spreadit out and give our QB some options. Limiting him was a mistake. If I were a GM of an NFL team, I would not draft Bryan Williams. Please prove me wrong the next two games B Will.Buffalo's offensive play calling was very questionable to me. If I was the Buffalo offensive coordinator, that game would have been a 24-13 victory for me.I wish I felt like I watched a really good game, but I only feel like I lost.
  6. Johnny, I LOVE your idea, nice work! Feel free to steal this modification.
  7. Akron 38Fluffalo 35 F 2OT
  8. Thanks for the quick response. I would bet the majority of hatred would change to praise if things did a 180 on the print side. Fan is short for fanatic.PS Back when I used to give my quarter to the BJ I think it would surprise you how many times the wrong game time was buried...I mean printed in the sport page.
  9. Here are the rules Tents have to be down by 7:15 am on Saturday.
  10. Congratulations to Zeke and family. I wish him much success at Akron as a student athlete.
  11. Are you camping? If you do, make sure you post at least one photo of that! Brookhartville?
  12. Back to the subject of the original post, here is the hourly for tomorrow:
  13. No. I thought Matt Rodgers would be playing by now. Congrats to CJ to see his hard work pay off. Keep it up. BTW He is 46th in the nation in QB rating and going up against the 26th in the nation on Thursday. Be there, or be square.
  14. The comments at the end of the article are even more entertaining than the article.
  15. I have new found respect for Mary Kay Cabot. Pure genius.
  16. BOOOOOO Nick! Buffalo (5-4, 3-2 MAC) @ Akron (5-4, 3-2 MAC) - 7:00SITE: Rubber Bowl (31,000/Astro Play) Akron, OhioTELEVISION: ESPNU (Charles Neal, Jay Walker, Jessica Mendoza)SERIES RECORD: Akron leads 8-1 ... UB’s 26-10 win last year was the Bulls’ first in the series that began in 1999.COACHES: UB-Turner Gill (12-21, third season); UA-J.D. Brookhart (26-30, fifth season).GAME NOTES: This is a showdown for first place in the East Division and a possible berth in the MAC Championship game ... Akron has one title game appearance (winning in 2005), while Buffalo has never made it to the title game since joining the league in 1999 ... a win by the Bulls will give the program its most in a season since going joining the FBS (I-A) in 1999 ... UB is on a three-game winning streak after its 37-17 win over Miami (Tue., Nov. 4) ... the Zips have won back-to-back games for the first time in 2008, most recently defeating Toledo 47-30 (Wed., Nov. 5) ... the two of the league’s top RBs face off in Buffalo’s James Starks (league-leading 125.3 ypg; 487 yards, 7 TDs last 3 games) and Akron’s Dennis Kennedy (612 yards and 6 TDs last 3 games, 100.3 ypg for the season) ... this is the last game in the history of the Rubber Bowl as the Zips next year will move into its on-campus stadium (InfoCision Stadium/Summa Field) ... the Zips will have played 324 games in the Rubber Bowl since 1940 and are 191-122-10 all-time.Nick’s Pick: Buffalo 33 – Akron 24Comment: The Zips are playing their final game in the venerable Rubber Bowl but have yet to beat a team winning record this season. If UB beats the Zips this week and BGSU on November 21, the impossible will actually happen; the Bulls will win the MAC East and will be “bowling” for the first time in school history. UB is playing the best football of any east division team right now and should ride the wave to a victory.
  17. I would keep him on the bench when Ken+ plays Toledo.
  18. Sports Illustrated predicted the Zips in the Independence Bowl today also
  19. I don't know about Reggie, but I did watch the Dolphins game and saw Andy play yesterday. Here is his update:The Dolphins released guard Evan Mathis on Friday and signed guard Matt McChesney off the practice squad.Mathis had been splitting snaps with Ikechuku Ndukwe at right guard, a position identified as a week spot since rookie Donald Thomas sustained a season-ending foot injury during the season opener.Andy Alleman has been seeing more time with the first team and would presumably assume some of the snaps left open by Mathis' departure.''I just like what he's done right now in practice,'' Sparano said of Alleman.``He's been playing tough out there, creating some competition.''
