Agreed. I know it sounds awkward to give credit for someone doing their job, but Zips fans tend to get subpar talent. They did a nice job. Murry Bartow was the commentator, and Carl Reuter did the play by play. Murry even gave credit to Brian for helping him view Akron's practice. I thought that was respectful. Murry did a nice job pointing out the Zips successful offensive plays during the game that he saw in practice. I remember KD saying at the beginning of the season that he was going to simplify our offense, I was hoping Murry was going to expand on that, but maybe he was unaware. I wonder if that is even a true statement anymore.

Upon further web browsing.... In September 2015, ASN reached a deal with the Mid-American Conference, sub-licensed through ESPN, to broadcast selected games. In the 2015–16 academic season, ASN will broadcast 10 football games, 10 men's basketball games. Here is the MAC tv schedule, seems like ASN has MAC games on Tuesdays, which will work out nice for Zips fans when we play at Central next Tuesday. Also Feb 23rd at Miami, and March 1st when Ohio visits the JAR. Worth marking your calendar IMO. Replay found here. I think you are right. The Akron/Miami game was on ASN.

You could be right. Maybe I was just impressed with both of their professionalism, because I'm so used to seeing, and listening to D class broadcasts. UA should follow whatever UB did. Love having everything on ESPN3. Kudos to UB for increasing my enjoyment of the game.

Nice win for the Zips in a hard place to get a win (for them). I wish every away game was broadcast on the American Sports Network. I think they do a nice job. It was an entertaining broadcast last night. I think they did the UMass (football) game this year too.

Only missed one thing. Under TV/Radio/Internet, should have mentioned the game is on ESPN3.

Not impressive last night, but congratulations goes to Teddy Bridgewater, who was the first to win a division title. Bortles and Bridgewater finished 0.5 from each other in quarterback rating this year. Carr finished above both of them. Bortles finished one TD short of leading the league in TD passes. Derek Carr should have been in the original poll.

The Zips played in the 21st ranked bowl game of the year...according to Tom Fornelli of CBS Sports. Better than the Cotton Bowl or Rose Bowl games.

Back to grey Ohio today. Couldn't be more excited about the Zips victory. What a great way to end a season. Hopefully this is the springboard the program needed. If you ever wonder what a bowl can do for your program, go watch the game where nobody is familiar with the teams playing. I happen to watch the game at the Clevelander in South Beach. By the end of the game the entire bar knew who the Zips were. This included people from other countries. Anytime I wore Zips gear around town after the game I received comments. I now realize how much a bowl game in Florida could have helped our recruiting. I still think the game helped recruiting there, but it would have helped even more playing in the state. Compared to most of the rainy games at home this year, the weather looks great there! Nice to see the team having fun, they deserve it.

The Mountain West has dominated the MAC in the last three Potato Bowls, but this one should be a bit of a slugfest. Akron’s defense is too good and too disciplined to let this get out of hand, but the Utah State defense should go back to its old form against a middling Zip attack that won’t go anywhere. Don’t expect any type of a pretty game, but enjoy fantastic linebacker play and a low-scoring battle that should stay close well into the fourth. Keeton Looking Forward to Playing in Second Bowl. Although Keeton is likely to start against Akron on Dec. 22 at Albertsons Stadium, USU head coach Matt Wells apparently wants to keep the Zips guessing. When asked on Monday what the status of Keeton and sophomore quarterback Can't Myers is heading into USU’s season finale, Wells replied, “They are both very healthy, they both have been practicing very well and there’s a pretty good chance you’re going to see both of them. He has great credibility and respect among coaches in this area, and I think having him on our staff has been critical to us earning that trust from these high school coaches. Apparently, Bowden's strategy has worked. Currently Akron has 51 student-athletes on its roster from the state of Ohio; 37 of those live within a 30-mile radius to campus, including eight of the 22 starters.
