All i know is that its taking place in the field house. You'd have to get in contact with those running the Rowdies to find out if a mini-band would be able to show up and teach the students the progression of the pregame show along with all the cheers you guys do.

If I am understanding you correctly... are they handing out physical tickets for students so they can get in later in the day after the rally? If so, that makes MUCH more sense since it'll allow students to go to the rally and still get into the game.

I believe you are correct. Penn State used a very lopsided battle of field position to exploit our defense and put up big points early.it just goes to show how much the defense feeds off the offense.

The indiana soccer game is going to be sketchy for Rowdies. I plan on getting to campus at 3:45 and making the long, excruciating wait for the 7:30 game. If it's what I have to do to be at the biggest soccer game on campus in a long time, Ill do it.

Answer: A good consistent kicker.Kickers are extremely hard to come by. Watch the vast majority of high school football games and one has to wonder how colleges ever make a fieldgoal. It is also hard to judge one because in HS the goal posts are more narrow in college and HS kickers get to kick off of a tee.surely you meant that college field goals are narrower than HS field goals.... right?

Dont you love it when you find the answer to your own questions?The policy this week is the same it was for Morgan State. I just stopped by at about 9:30 and it looked as though they hadnt handed out any wristbands to students till I got there. Hopefully they send out an email to let the students know to get their wristbands.The wristband itself is a lot nicer than the previous version. This one is more of a plastic than a paper, so its a little more comfortable. I also had them put mine on a little looser too.Yes... I am a little sunburnt from saturday

I was under the impression that we are going to have to get a new wristband for the Indiana game. The game is 5 days away yet I have heard nothing about what they plan on doing for student tickets. Ill swing by the JAR later this morning to see if they are handing out wristbands, but I wanted to know if anyone had heard what they are doing. Thanks!

thats precisely what pregame was missing. If the entire stadium knew what was going on, 1) the announcer wouldnt have to talk so much, and 2) it would carry more energy.So what's the solution? Have the announcer stop talking so people can hear, or just give it time for everyone to catch on to the sequence? If the student section could tell it was the Let's Go Zips cheer from the opposite end of the field then it makes me think that people just weren't paying attention/participating.Good point. I never thought of that. I still feel there were a lot of fans there who didn't know what to say or were too awestruck by the stadium to notice.What is the solution, you ask? I dont know if I have a single solution at all. My personal vote is to keep the show the way it is for this season; Let it be and go from there. We are making these suggestions after 1 performance and that's not a fair way to asses the band. They are as new at this pregame show experience as all the fans there were, so let's see how things progress over the next 2 games before we say that there are any issues with the band's performance. I do think it will take time for some of the fans to learn the progression of the pregame show before they were be fully participating. The only reason I knew what was going on was because of the youtube videos of the pregame show that was done in the fieldhouse. The fans will catch on... just give them time.

It desperately NEEDS an article for zips soccer too!+10000000 I need to teach myself how to do Wiki editing. Its a weird system... at least it was last time I used it. If the university doesn't try to tackle it themselves, the least we can do is try to keep our Wiki page up to date. I know not a lot of people use it, but I know when I was looking at colleges, I would look at their Wiki to get more info on the University. Akron's is weak, to say the least. Can't State's wiki has a ton more info available... we need to catch up!

@ZippyTubaI think the undeniable fact that comes from your videos is this: The band never stops playing. Now, Idunno if this is true since I couldn't hear everything that was being played during pregame (too much announcer), but it seemed liked the band stopped playing for announcer intros. just my $.02

I saw you doing the performance after the game. I should have stopped over. Ill make sure to next game.And yes, I was sitting on the east side. I knew the eastside would be without the energy the west side would get. Perhaps for one game Ill sit on the east side of the student section.

As far as pregame goes... it looks great and I loved it. I just felt that at times the various pieces didn't flow together to maintain that energy the pregame show should do. I would REALLY love to see the band bring back the Blue & Gold fanfare shown in the 1990 band's youtube video. I love those fanfares and they do nothing but pump up the crowds. Ideas for the entrance... what you guys did is about as good as it'll get right now. Logistically you have to enter through the tunnel because its the only ground-level entrance to the field and that's entirely understandable. What needs to be found is a way for the band to enter the field in a way that is spewing energy. Sitting here, I cannot come up with any ideas that would be a more energetic way for the band to enter the field from the tunnel. What was done is about all that can be done. If we could get videos posted of the pregame performance, that'd be great as my view from the student section wasn't the greatest for watching the band (4th row). Anyone in the band right now reading this thread shouldn't take offense to anything I or anyone else has posted. We all know how much work you all put in and we appreciate you guys for doing what you do. We, as fans, just want a little more, something that will get us pumped for the game. Hopefully some good ideas can come from this thread that can help you guys out.

You know... I don't care that much if GA peope leave early. It's the students I'd rather see in the stands for the whole game. It's not like they have far to go to get home.

The simple fact that we students were able to ge echo chants going gave me the chills. It's surreal to experience this finally and I hope it grows from here. I didn't have a problem getting in... Then again I did show up like an hour and a half before kickoff. HahahaI just wish more students would have stayed in the stands than move to the grass. But it don't matter to me. Hope everyone had as good of a first experience as I had. See you all next weekend!!!

Agreed. I've seen more of this guy in the last 3 weeks than I saw of Mack in 2 years. I love it.
