can anyone else make out what it is exactly they are doing in the north endzone building? the last couple days they look like they've been building something.....Anyways... makes me real excited to see the structural steel going up for the seats on the east side. However I am still wondering why no progress has been made on the southern part of the east bleachers... I know that the area under that section is going to be for the visiting team, so I wonder what's going on there...

even so... I think the number of attempted shots inside the paint versus the number of blocks we had would be the fairest way to determine how our defense in the paint was. Even then, considering that we held them to some 30-odd points, I doubt they had much of an inside presence as zip watcher pointed out.

Perhaps that jumps out from the box score .. but from being at the game, I can tell you that Urbana didn't really go in to the paint much at all. There simply weren't a lot of opportunities to block shots.The defensive effort last night was pretty solid, IMO.Thats the only way to interpret the blocked shot stat... Id like to see just how many (or how few based on what zip watcher said) shots Urbana attempted within the paint versus our 0 blocked shots. Sounds like it was a nailbiter anyways

Far as I know its strictly Football... supposedly there's a new soccer stadium in the works and I don't see them doing any kind of temporary soccer setup at the Info unless some serious $$$ was in play. Even then, if the crew were to play an exhibition match up north, I think they'd go right to Cleveland and skip Akron.Back to the game...If there are any students on here, rumor has it from the ROWDIES administration that there might be a shuttle bus set up to run students over to the soccer game starting at 1pm. No official details have been released, but I think the U can spare 1 bus to run over to SVSM.

OBC is just as close to the Jack as it is to SVSM high school... in case you didn't know...

I have come to accept the fact that the Browns have their issues and will disappoint me from time to time. It can be embarassing, but it comes with the territory and I am okay with it. I love the browns and always will. Its fine. I'd rather be a fan of the browns than the sh!tsburg steelers. You steelers fans have your heads shoved so far up your own a$$es you probably can see what you're thinking.I don't want JD gone... at all. I just want the 3-3-5 gone. That would be steel flooring. The entire area under that part of the sections is where the visiting team goes for their team rooms and such. Im sure there are other rooms in there for things like field maintenance and such.

When your program just recruited one of the big men in the country and are aiming to compete in March Madness, you cannot come away from a loss happy. There's a reason Zeke is coming here and I am sure KD is it. This guy has a strong desire to win and I have a feeling that things will begin to fall into place for him.

How is that a home field advantage when they are 90 miles south? The weather is a little worse here but can't be that much. They played in some snow vs Oakland on Saturday and they wore hats and gloves. lollast I checked we actually get snow up here that sticks around rather than the dustings at best they get down there. That and the type of snow that falls up here is a lot different than that would fall down there. Up here we get lake effect snow and those snowflakes are at least 5x bigger than snow that might fall elsewhere. Get a lot of it falling at any given time (like during the MACC game last weekend) and it becomes harder to see things and starts accumulating on the ground. Not saying they sit at a nice 80 degrees during the winter, just that the weather conditions are entirely different up here.

Sucks for those of you who have to pay $8... us rowdies get in free just by wearing our TShirts...Regardless, this is going to be a good game. Forecast is showing snow again, so we may have a bit of homefield advantage. I hope that we can pack those bleachers and the east hill with people.

Yeah, especially over at ABJ.But I definitely agree... there's a huge market here in NEO, but right now it's being dominated by OSU and thus our share of the coverage is a pittance to what OSU gets. A good championship would definitely get people to realize what we have down here (in reference to most people being located north of Akron)

If we were a larger-market team with a lot more funding and were a hell of a lot better, then yes. That kind of formula for getting to a bowl really only works with those BCS conference teams. There's really no way we can get to a bowl if we play the weakest schedule in the nation...**edit**On second thought... it could work. However, I like the way we are going about things right now because we need to start playing those bigger name teams so we can start making a splash in the world outside of Akron. Look at what Toledo did. Beat Michigan. In the big house. Got NATIONAL tv time for that win. Seriously though, you gotta beat the best before you can become the best. If we did all cupcake games, what do you think people would think of us? They'd think "Akron is just a weak mid-major team who doesn't beat anybody thats worth anything". Granted thats how many people think now, but by getting more wins vs BCS teams, it makes us look that much better.

by "small" they are really referring to the market size of the school, not its literal size...at least thats how i interpret it
