  1. CFN can kiss my ASS. But we WILL have the last laugh because I'm pretty damn sure that The ZIPS will be the 2010 . Winning will make everything right.
  2. Damn - I must be loozin' it. But I gotta go with the Meister on this one. I hope I get to see it someday. 2010
  3. As far as his prediction " but I don’t expect the Zips to do much better than last year’s mark", he's just another no-nothing sports writer using pseudo-science to make his point, which BTW is utter crap/nonsense. All those In-the Know (like myself, CoachI, the whole DL, the whole OL, all DB, and the WHOLE 2010 ZIPS TEAM already know that we are the 2010 . All the naysayers will just have to wait and see that I am right. I don't give a damn about those jealous of our ZIPS. Our 2010 MAC Championship willl speak for ourselves. GO ZIPS!
  4. Everyone already knows she is a big dumbass. Who really cares about her inane football picks. GO ZIPS!! WE ARE THE 2010 period!!!
  5. What does it matter? What do you see in the picture below? A Flamenco Dancer and 2 poodles.
  6. Again, you are thinking in the extreme. Morgan State is I-AA. One Morgan State is fine. Two probably not. Three, no way. One PSU is fine, two probably not, three, no thanks. Is it exciting for me to watch UofA take a beat down three of four ooc games against BCS teams? No. In fact, it is a comlete waste of time. Would I be more excited against Colorado State or New Mexico State or MTSU or Marshall? Hell yes! I want to watch the Zips play good competition against teams they have a realistic shot at beating and the other team has a realistic shot at beating the Zips. That's good competition. They are guaranteed to beat Morgan State. They are guaranteed to lose to PSU. They could beat a non-BCS team. I'll take the excitement of the unknown in a game matching two well equal teams rather than a certain loss or certain win. My Bad. Botom line for me is: Good Competition begets better competition, a stronger/better team, more wins against teams that actually mean something, puts UA on the map, begets national TV exposure where we don't embarrass ourselves, but instead leave an indelible "ZIPS are the real deal" mark on the psyche of NCAA football. GO ZIPS!!

  8. That's fine, give it to them once a year. I can agree with that. One big name BCS team a year. But the rest of our OOC should not be cupcakes. We can't improve without being challenged.
  9. You got that 100% right! Give us Penn State (they are still our Bitc..s) or any other top BCS team. Our players WANt that. That's why they play the game, and why they make a helluva lot of sacrifices. They want to prove themselves. If they do get beat, it only makes them tougher. I want UA on the map with the best. Yes, it may take some time, but we got to start now! This upcoming season is going to prove that we are on the way up. I don't care what any whiny-ass, pessimistic fans (?) think/post. We have the talent and desire to Kick Some Real Ass. And we will. GO ZIPS!! AND BEYOND!
  10. I agree half-heartedly. Whereas I am excited with expectations for I.coach, I have been bombarded in the last couple weeks with IM requests asking for my personal thoughts about the likelihood of I.coach's chances for a spectacular 1st season. I believe he will lead us to the Promised Land and beyond. That said, I feel I must publicly address the many e-mail requests that I apply for the Head Coach position in case of a dismal year. Again, I truly believe that Coach will deliver a stellar season. But to address the requests that I somehow perhaps step-in and provide some assistance/guidance in the interim, I can only say that I truly appreciate your votes of confidence, but I do not believe I would be right for the role of HC, in no small part because as William Hung explained to the American Idol judges back in 2004, I too "have no professional training". GO ZIPS!! KICK ASS IN 2010! I was hopeful about the upcoming season. Now, not so much. What do you know I know that you are definitely a "glass is half full" type of person, and I suspect the contents of your glass is vodka rather than water. Mea maxima culpa. I was at work and did not get to finish my post. My intended post should have read: What do you know, it's Zipmeister. It only took you minutes to respond to my post. I knew you would like it. Keep up your perverse posts. I love a good lol laugh. And like I said before, 2010. GO ZIPS!! Now Put On Your Big Girl Panties And Deal With It.

  13. This is very good thinking on your part. I focus on threads involving club baseball and gun shooting myself and I believe over 90% of the board only reads the basketball threads. The good news, however, is that the other 90% only read football threads. Agree 110%
  14. Howard looks as though he's quit football to becoe a burger entrepreneur. But I got to admit I really liked the Howard the Duck ref.
  15. I agree. What's up with that? One day he's on the roster, the next he's off. Was/is he just a figment of JD's? A make-believe anathema of some frustrated UA mad-scientist professor? I mean who really knows. I've heard about him but I've never really seen him. Who has! He's on the sidelines. He's not on the sidelines. I don't know that we need to rack our human brains over such apparently mythical sightings of this Tonganator. Amy such sightings or belief in the existence of The Tonganator are surely beyond perceptual and/or intellectual apprehension but central to being and directly accessible by intuition. His seemingly mythological proportion precedes himself. I mean Monster/Schmonster, how big can his hands really be. Let's focus on the really important stuff. Who likes the new color unis? But then again.. How's that old Steven Tyler song go... "blessed are they that have not seen, yet still believe". GO ZIPS!!!!
  16. Too bad our early season schedule is set up for failure. If playing Syracuse and Indiana means that we are setup for failure then we might as well give up and implode the new stadium. Those are two teams that are lower-mid level D1 programs. Kentucky is a stretch for us at this point in the programs current status, but we should be able to compete with the Kentucky's of the world. I 100% agree with you, but GP1 in 3...2...1... The football schedule is set up for 6-7 win season and failure. The basketball schedule is set up for a 20 win season and the illusion of greatness. The basketball team has it right. It isn't about tearing down the stadium if the Zips can't beat Syracuse or Indiana. We needed the new stadium anyhow. The Great GP1 is too brilliant to look at the world in such a narrow frame. The problems the Zips have competing against BCS schools are not isolated to just UofA. There is a growing disparity between the upper level of FBS and the lower level of FBS. Neither group is either good or bad. They just exist as they are. The solution isn't "growing" D-IA from 130 to 150 teams. It is about making it smaller....much smaller. We probably have the best facilities and stadium in all of FCS (I-AA to you old timers....I'm trying to make the adjustment but I'm finding it difficult). UofA would be a powerhouse I-AA team and the MAC would be a powerhouse I-AA conference. Instead, we are bottom feeders, which is exactly the way the NCAA wants it to be. There is an old saying, "You can't fight city hall". We can't beat the NCAA because the rules are stacked against us as a I-A team/league. Regardless I still think that AD at Syracuse is gonna be eatin' his words about how "We Should Beat Akron". I say screw him and the boat he rode in on. I, along with many of the players expect to win the MAC, go to a bowl game and..... We'll beat Syracuse on our way to a stellar season. No brag, just fact.

  18. O Meister, Meister. Your bitterness seems to preclude any intelligent banter of the matter at hand. Perhaps a little more listening and a lot less of how you say "hand holding," with ZippyRifle and you might learn something. Seriously, "Does your football/penis envy have to come through on every thread?" lol Had you listened to iCoach's speech yesterday at the HOF luncheon, you might have heard him speak of "MH" as one of an arsenal of "secret weapons" he is planning to unleash on the Orangemen at InfoCision Stadium come September 4th. Keep the Faith. GO ZIPS!!!!
  19. On the contrary, no disappointment here. Unlike the impact of moving the college basketball 3 point line back a foot and its dramatic effect on mid major programs, the difference between a 5'10" (if that's really how tall he is) cornerback and a 5'7" cornerback in covering a 6'4" receiver is negligible. State Qualifier in the High jump would indicate the height advantage of a 6'4 receiver would be negligible as well. YES. All we have to do is get their 6'4" guy to agree not to jump and we got it covered. Just hearsay. Don't shoot the messenger But.... I hear that Randy and the Tonganator been hanging out and that Randy was given some kind of secret herbal med that he's been rubbin on his hands. Not to worry... Randy's now got some MH big enough to pull down any of PN16's throws anywhere in the vicintiy. We got this corner covered. GO ZIPS My bad - I thought Randy was gonna be moved to WR. So sue me! QUOTE(ZachTheZip @ Mar 24 2010, 02:04 AM) Randy Greenwood is moving from Safety to Corner. I think it's a more natural position for him. He came is as a highly touted WR... -------------------- Half Buck

  21. To Keener '92, If it's any consolation to you, I meant that it's The Zipmeister who all too often "Sounds A Little Silly". Your post was well writtten & thought out. Keep 'em coming. Go ZIPS
  22. I'll tell you right now, my gut feeling is that we beat those punk-ass orangemen from Syracuse. That's for sure.
  23. Indiana doesn't sell out when OSU comes to town, and if they do it is b/c 1/2 are OSU fans.I expect a nice crowd for the Syracuse and Northern Illinois games. Anything else will be tough. For the GW game, they should promote perhaps a 50/50 raffle and/or a combination of that and some $$$ to charity. Something big will have to be done there to get attendance up. Of course, if they beat Syracuse, GW game might not be too bad. STUDENTS, STUDENTS, STUDENTS will be the key for those first couple games.Ergo, the GW game might not be too bad. I guaranty those Orangemen are going to be in for a world of hurt. And I will be there to join in the revelry that will usher in a new era of winning ZIPS football! Man, I can't wait.
  24. Good for the MAC. They should play 3 each year instead of san jose state, troy, and army. The Zips future is not set. Our future is made. We go to be on the Big Stage. Our athletes want and deserve to Be On The Big Stage. I know that our players crave to be on that Big Stage like a fat lady craves chocolate. We've got the makings for a stellar future. We, the ZN can't be afraid of the Big Stage. In 2011 give me 3 top tier BCS teams. We are not afraid. We are here because we want to make our mark at UA on a D1 level football team. Playing on the Big Stage is the first step to leaving a well-deserved new legacy of ZIPS Football Pride. We Can Do It. We're Not Afraid. Bring It On!GO ZIPS!
