Can't State played a much tougher non-conference schedule according to the computers. Since SOS accounts for 50% of your RPI, it ends up making a huge difference.Non-Conference SOSCan't State- 26Akron- 229

So, you blame KD for the lack of discipline, but then criticize him for disciplining one of those players. You're contradicting yourself.

This article has him listed as a guard.http://blogs.suburbanchicagonews.com/beaco...ll_hobbled.html

Nobody here has said that Akron is on Gonzaga's level, it's really only you that keeps bringing it up. All that was originally said was some would like to play Gonzaga home/home. That's not saying Akron and Gonzaga on the same level. It's only your notion that Akron should only play teams that are on the same level, which is downright foolish. I agree Gonzaga wouldn't do a home/home with us, but for arguments sake, if they were to offer us a home/home you don't even need to think about. You do it in a heartbeat. Gonzaga didn't get to their level by beating teams similar to them. They got there by playing and beating teams that were quite frankily on other level from them at the time. That's how you grow the program.

They switched how they did the bracketbusters, so the return game won't be until the 2011-2012 season. Though, we will still host a bracketbuster game next year.Schedule does look very similar to this year's schedule up to this point. The last four games can make it better, but I have feeling they are going to be buy-games at home.

Elton's stumping for UA/Can't State/CSU/YSU
zippyman23 replied to MDZip's topic in Akron Zips Basketball
I'm not sure why everyone thinks CSU owes us a game at the JAR. After we joined the MAC, we had two years off where we didn't play them, followed by twelve years of playing them alternating sites each year. Six of those games were at CSU and six were at UA. It's even as far as I can tell from looking at the media guide. -
Lunardi's projections are based on if the season would end today. He always gives the current conference leader the automatic bid, and in cases of ties, he uses RPI.Buffalo is 3-0 in the MAC and has the highest RPI in the MAC. That's why they are the projected winner as of today.

That may be true for football scheduling, but the majority of the basketball ooc schedule for next year will be put together between now and this summer. Still plenty of time to upgrade. I agree with your point about signing a 2 for 1, especially since we have gone on the road the last two years to BCS schools without a return game.

I don't really see it as crapping down our leg. We played very well for period in the first half, but URI was more consistent throughout the game. Breaking it down into ten 4-minute games (TV timeout-TV timeout) which many coaches do, URI won 6-2-2. 1st half1) URI2) Tie3) UA4) UA5) URI2nd half1) URI2) URI3) URI4) Tie5) URI

Euton's LOI has been received. Haven't heard about Green or Egner, but I assume both have been faxed. -
NCAA Early Signing Period

They will all sign tomorrow. -
Source? From different people on the AAU circuit and some articles written about Sampson. General feeling is that Akron doesn't fit his style of play and he is looking to go bigger. He had said Cincinnati was his leader awhile back and since then all he has done is blown up and become more sought after by the BCS schools. Nothing leads me to believe that Akron will be a factor in his recruitment.
-
Sampson isn't a legit possibility. Based on everything I have heard, there's next to no chance that he will stay in Akron.
-
Their games aren't similar at all. Euton's decision will have no affect on Egner.

If we get a #13 (typical for a MAC champ), then that assumes that Butler would be a #4....and that's not gonna happen. And I would truly root against that. We can't be letting Horizon teams get high seeds.Butler is a Preseason Top-10 team. They could easily get a 4-seed.

Dakatoh cancelled the visit to UNCG weeks ago. Scout hasn't updated his profile since originally listed his visit dates. FWIW....Scout's profiles may be the least reliable source when it comes to recruiting information because it takes way too much time and effort to keep them accurate. It is still down to Akron and EKU and a decision should be coming soon.
-
Not odd at all. Happens all the time where a coach will only leave an offer open for a certain amount of time to accept or else they are moving on. It's all about leverage and tryingt to get the committment. As for him having only to Tuesday to make a decison on EKU, that is coming from different sources who are supposedly "close" to the situation. Not sure if Tuesday is in fact the supposed "deadline", or if they were referring to this past Tuesday or this coming Tuesday, but judging on Euton's comments on both coaches at Akron and EKU wanting a decision soon and him deciding to cancel his remaining visits, it seems that a "deadline" has been set for his decision.
-
The word is that EKU has given him until Tuesday to decide if he will take their offer or not.
-
It is all relevant. Compared to the recruits Kentucky is bringing in, he is not very athletic. Compared to other teams in MAC, he would fit in just fine.
-
FWIW... His high school teammate and friend has already committed to EKU, so that will also likely factor into his decision.
-
Dakotah Euton will be making a decision between Akron and Eastern Kentucky within the next week.

mention in top mid-major recruiting classes
zippyman23 replied to ivanak's topic in Akron Zips Basketball
The "article" is written by a senior in high school who obviously just looked at ESPN's ratings. Nothing to get worked up about, anyone can write for that site.Because another MAC school is ranked ahead of you, it has to be wrong? Each of Ohio's recruits were very well rated. Together they made for a stronger overall recruiting class, in the writer's opinion. Quit being so whiny.LOL..I just said the author/website was less than credible, that's not being whiny. I really could care less. -

It was a forward from the class of 2011. I'll try to find out more but that is all I was given.
