As far as I know, those three 2023 commitments are still coming to Akron. I've been looking for anything that shows that any of them have re-opened their recruitment and haven't found anything yet. EDIT - I'm confident that Lewandowski and Jones are still coming based off their likes and their twitter account. Olivia Brown is the only one that I'm not sure about (nothing in her bio about Akron but her twitter profile picture is her NLI signing with Akron), but I haven't seen anything about her requesting her NLI release and re-opening her recruitment. My guess is all three are still coming to Akron.

I never understood how the program could be so bad when the conference tournament was literally held in your city every year (Firestone Stadium). Now it's hosted by the #1 seed, but that always frustrated me. Some of the stories I've heard about one of the former head coaches of this program from former players was insane. I'm not going to tell them as we're past that now, but it definitely showed administration didn't care about the program or it would have had a change a lot earlier than it did. I know time will tell on all these hires, but at least Guthrie has recognized the programs that needed change and has made those changes. I'm glad to see there has been improvement this year with the new staff. Hoping the team can make some noise in the conference tournament!

I have nothing to base this off of right now, but I wouldn't be shocked if a particular student-athlete in the transfer portal as a graduate transfer comes "home" to Ohio from a Power 5 school. Seems like their height, position, and experience would be a perfect fit for what might be needed still for this roster (if there is any spots left which I think there is at least one spot still). EDIT - Or another graduate transfer stays in Ohio and that one would make a ton of sense with the connection to this staff.

I try to keep up with Ohio women's basketball student-athletes and where they play collegiately. Here's the list I had put together during March Madness: NCAA D1 189 student-athletes 102 programs 32 states NCAA D2 227 student-athletes 53 programs 14 states NCAA D3 287 student-athletes 61 programs 15 states NAIA 152 student-athletes 49 programs 18 states For me, it shows how much talent is in the state of Ohio on the women's side. For example, the top JUCO player is from Columbus and is going to end up at Ole Miss or South Carolina (Sakima Walker).

I think you're overstating my influence 😂. The two I knew specifically about out of the Buffalo de-commits was from somewhere else (although I did see somewhere posted that Kohler requested on 3/22 as well). I would love to see her come to Akron, but there three guards coming in from the 2023 class (unless I'm missing any de commits) so if the coach is looking for a point guard, he's probably looking for one in the portal. That would be my guess.

I was hoping for Paige Kohler, but I forgot we have two point guards in this 2023 class already. Kohler reminds me of a shorter version of Ohio State's Jacy Sheldon for anyone that watched the NCAAW Tournament this year.

I'll be interested to see who gets brought in for that. Hoping for a specific recruit, but that point guard will have plenty of options right now. Akron will most likely be in the mix (if still looking for a point guard when that recruit ultimately decides where to commit). I'm thinking about maybe starting a recruiting thread for the 2024 and later offers/commitments for the WBB program to organize the years on some of these offers/commitments after the dust settles this off season (unless anyone else wants to start one up in recruiting thread, feel free to do so).
