  1. I don't think a lot of people understand how truly talented the state of Ohio is in high school girls' basketball. Out of the 68 teams in the NCAA tournament, there is Ohio representation on 21 different teams with 41 student-athletes. 19 student-athletes on eight different teams are still playing in the Sweet 16. As long as Coach Jackson and company keeps recruiting the way they have been with what Z.I.P. and LoyalZip has stated above, the Lady Zips will be in a good spot going forward.
  2. I think this team will have solid enough post play. Getting any more guards shouldn't hurt! All-Ohio teams were just released these past two days. Here is what the incoming two recruits got Alia Miller - Division 3 All-Ohio Second Team Faith Stinson - Division 2 All-Ohio First Team - Division 2 Co-Player of the Year
  3. Also, didn't know where to put this but this was brought up in the Villanova - BYU women's game today. Interesting that the MAC has two of the five top scorers in the country since 2019-20 season. By the way, Buffalo is playing Tennessee (at Tennessee) at 3:00pm ET on ABC.
  4. Both recruits have state championship game experience now as Stinson made it to the Ohio Division 2 State Championship game and Miller was on a team that won the Ohio Division 3 State Championship the previous season. I'm definitely interested to see what they will both bring to the program. I think Bass and Stinson will be a great frontcourt for the Lady Zips the next few years.
  5. Great effort but couldn't overcome Freeman foul trouble.
  6. Well, we all know what the wanted result is here...
  7. Live ball turnovers against this team are an automatic bucket for them...
  8. During that last interview with Groce, they had on it "25 first half points ties for season low" I looked it up. The other team to hold them to that? Gonzaga. EDIT: I guess Washington was another game too.
  9. Jim Rome had a great interview with Groce on yesterday's show. Here is the link to the full show. The interview is from 28:00 into the video to 41:40 into the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAVuW0YRkz4
  10. You're right. Apparently, West Virginia declined the invitation to play in the WNIT and that's why it was blank for a while on the bracket. https://twitter.com/wvuwbb/status/1503460683102531588?s=21 It is Wake Forest on Thursday at 7:00pm.
  11. The WNIT bracket came out and literally shows Akron having no opponent. Looks like they're traveling to Morgantown now. https://twitter.com/ChrisConfalone/status/1503439842809688067
  12. And I've heard those other three 13 seeds get at least some attention for potential upsets. I actually like the fact that no one is talking about Akron with an upset.
  13. Just got done watching ESPN's "Bracketology - Field of 136" Show Everyone on the show has UCLA making it to the Elite Eight, with most picking UCLA to the Final Four. One said that he picked them to go to the Final Four because they were there last year and return everyone.
  14. Tough way for the Guzzardo-led Lady Lions to lose. UIW was 15-21 from the free throw line while SE Louisiana was 11-20. They had chances to put it away at the free throw line and just couldn't do it. Glad to see Guzzardo having success at SE Louisiana though.
  15. This Southeastern Louisiana - Incarnate Word conference championship game is crazy. Incarnate Word was up 48-44 with 19 seconds left and Southeastern Louisiana came back to take a 50-48 lead with under 4 seconds left. Incarnate Word gets fouled with 0.5 seconds left and makes both free throws to tie the game. Overtime. CBS Sports Network
  16. I forgot about the Bracket Matrix. They just updated it and have Yale as the lowest #13 seed and us as the top 14 seed.
  17. Not yet.... EDIT- Okay, now it's over. You have 14.4 seconds, down 2 points, and you don't even look to shoot?
  18. In terms of NET, out of the other projected 14 seeds, Longwood is just ahead of us and St. Peter's is a couple spots ahead of us. Colgate is just below us and they're a projected 15 seed. If NET has a ton of weight for seeding, I think we most likely will be a 14 seed.
  19. I didn't take your post as a dig. I just wanted to state it that every bracketology post I've seen has Akron as a 14 seed. That way if Akron is a 14 seed, there's no shock to it. I fully expect a 13 seed too though. I did catch your joke and agree with it. I would have reacted to your joke with a laughing emoticon but I was out of reactions 😂
  20. Former Lady Zip, Ayla Guzzardo, is the head coach at Southeastern Louisiana. They're playing in the Southland Conference Championship game today at 2:00pm on CBS Sports Network against Incarnate Word. Good luck Ayla and go Lady Lions!
  21. USA Today has the best scenario so far in my opinion They have us as the 13 seed playing 4 seed Providence. The other part of the section is 5 seed Houston playing the winner of Michigan and Notre Dame. The other top 3 seeds in the region are 1 seed Arizona, 2 seed Kentucky, 3 seed Purdue. They have the Akron-Providence & Houston-Michigan/Notre Dame section playing in Buffalo.
  22. CBS Sports has Akron as a 14 seed as well. Every bracketology page I've seen has Akron as a 14 seed. https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/bracketology/
