  1. Agreed. Hemphill, Camp, and Fair are a tough trio to try and outscore. If I recall correctly, at least Hemphill and Fair was on the Buffalo team that made it to the NCAA Sweet 16 a few years ago.
  2. End of 1st quarter #2 Buffalo 14 #7 Western Michigan 12 Taylor Williams has five points to lead Western Michigan. Summer Hemphill, Dyaisha Fair, and Dominique Camp have four points each for Buffalo.
  3. At the pace they're going right now, I would say tip for the Lady Zips will be between 6:30pm and 7:00pm.
  4. FINAL #5 Ball State 60 #4 Northern Illinois 54 Ball State moves on to play Toledo. Ball State lost to Toledo 55-58 (in Muncie) on January 19th and 66-69 (in Toledo) on February 19th. That MAC Tournament Semifinal game #1 will be played at 10:00am on Friday morning. First MAC tournament win for Ball State women's program since 2014.
  5. End of 3rd quarter #4 Northern Illinois 44 #5 Ball State 40
  6. Halftime #4 Northern Illinois 34 #5 Ball State 24
  7. End of 1st Quarter #4 Northern Illinois 24 #5 Ball State 11 Northern Illinois finished the quarter on a 16-2 run.
  8. FINAL - Quarterfinal Game #1 #1 Toledo 80 #8 Ohio 67 Toledo will move on to play against the winner of Ball State vs Northern Illinois. That tip approximately at 1:30pm. With coaching high school basketball, this was my first true time getting to watch Toledo. They're going to be tough the next few years (as long as transfer portal doesn't hit them). Out of their 8 player rotation, they're only losing one senior (#12 Jayda Jansen). They had four score in double figure and two others either one or two points away from double figures. Sophia Wiard (a Junior) and Quinesha Lockett (a Junior) had 19 points each.
  9. Toledo starting to pull away from Ohio now. It was a two possession game at most for majority of the game. 3:11 left in 4th quarter #1 Toledo 69 #8 Ohio 59
  10. Found this podcast off one of the replies to the SI.com tweet. Joe Moorhead and Akron part of this podcast starts around 22:35. This guy sounds like a casual football fan that looks at a lot of things at the surface. Thought it was an interesting take to see what those type of football fans think compared to those that are in the trenches. T'N'T College Football Podcast
  11. Toth also being the linebackers coach makes sense, especially in recruiting. He can always have "I coached Von Miller" in his recruiting pitches to linebackers.
  12. Yeah, I expect McClendon to stay at Oregon. If he doesn't stay, he's probably going to Miami...
  13. A defensive minded head coaching hire with a program that has been primarily offensively driven is really interesting. I wonder if Moorhead will have an easier time getting some Oregon players on offense to come to Akron now.

  15. I don't think we will be competing with Oregon for any recruits that Moorhead didn't previously recruit. But those he previously recruited, like the QB from PA in 2024 class, why not check and see if you can get any of them to follow you? Those are the ones that has a chance at possibly considering Akron. After those recruits, I don't expect any "competition" between the schools. I think the bigger chance of taking any players from Oregon will be already on the team. The fact you got Moorhead in the same building as those guys for two weeks and a bowl game can only help.
  16. I agree but wanted to show what we might expect on the recruiting trail from this coaching staff. The part I took away wasn't the recruit that was offered. The part I took away was Moorhead recruited him while at Oregon. That tells me that Moorhead isn't going to just cut ties with those recruits(including 2022 and 2023) he was recruiting at Oregon and at least see if he can get any to come to Akron.
  17. A 2024 offer that shows that this coaching change just feels different.
  18. Yeah, I'm starting to wonder if him going back to help coach in bowl game is his way for him to potentially convince McClendon to come on board as Offensive Coordinator/Associate Head Coach/Recruiting Coordinator as well as the in person recruiting benefit? If McClendon can get on staff, that would be the biggest hire Moorhead could get this season, including my dream DC of Bob Shoop (which didn't happen). I am seeing reports that Cristobal is trying to get McClendon to Miami with him so maybe he's closer to Cristobal than I assumed. We will see...
  19. Part of it might be how depleted the staff might be at Oregon with Cristobal going to Miami and most of that offensive staff was brought in by Cristobal. I'm assuming that most of them are going with Cristobal to Miami which leaves Oregon in a tough spot. As I said in a different post, McClendon was the only main assistant coach I could see come onto Moorhead's staff from Oregon due to not being a Cristobal guy. And who is the interim head coach for the bowl game? Bryan McClendon. Maybe Moorhead respects McClendon so much he wants to help McClendon and Oregon out. I wouldn't be shocked if McClendon is announced as the offensive coordinator after the bowl game. Plus, great chance to recruit kids to come to Akron from Oregon as others have said on here.
  20. Does anyone remember walk-on TJ DeShields from like a year or two ago? Apparently he has a younger brother, Dru DeShields, that's a dual threat QB at West Branch High School. He just completed his junior season and was named to the Division IV All-Ohio first team. Someone I know follows West Branch & Warren Harding programs fairly closely. They told me that Dru Deshields is the closest player they've seen to Lynn Bowden in terms of skill, dual threat QB, and production. Bowden ended up going to Kentucky before landing with the Mami Dolphins in the NFL. I think he would fit in this offense. Here are some highlights he posted along with some youtube clips I found: Here's highlights from a game late in the regular season(October 23rd / Week 10) I don't like the camera angles but here's the whole game (starts at 17:30 min mark into the video) : The last one talks about Dru Deshields primarily in the video starting around the three minute mark. 21. My dream scenario for defensive coordinator just hit reality...
  22. A Nagbe mention in an interview with Alexi Lalas on the The Herd on FS1 Skip to 50:50
  23. He used to be head coach for the St. Vincent - St. Mary's girls basketball program. Now the head coach for St. Peter's boys basketball program for those that may be wondering. Had some chess matches within games against him while he was at St. V
