  1. I went to Akron and now coach high school basketball. Does that count even though I didn't play at Akron?
  2. Guarantee there would be a high percentage of students that don't even know the name Jason Taylor either...
  3. I don't think it'll take much of a hit myself because I think this was the smartest thing they could have done. Larry has done a solid job since being hired here in my opinion. However, there's always those people out there that don't think on their own and believe everything they hear, read, etc. That's where the "hit" could take place in my opinion.
  4. Was it just me, or did it seem like a lot of his unconfirmed information was from this forum, made it look like investigative work, and he just twisted it to fit his agenda? I'm even a little skeptical about the PDF files. Even at that, I can see getting the players to talk to a reporter about who they wanted, but why would LeBron even release his email recommending Joyce to a reporter? Just with how LeBron conducts himself, I just don't see him and/or his circle willing to release that information when it's a mute point now. Until I see confirmation of these emails from whichever player sent the email, LeBron confirming, and/or President Wilson confirming, I'll take his "investigating" with a grain of sand. At least U of A shouldn't take too much of a hit with this article, since the viewership of this dying paper is small.
  5. I almost went to Liberty. I went on a college visit there and everything. Their arena is a lot nicer than ours. It's not like they're DII or DIII. They're still DI, so he didn't drop off too far. And with all the transfers leaving the MAC this year, it wouldn't shock me if Big South has a better overall season than the MAC next year. The Vines Center
  6. No, just sarcasm. I fell into this trap with Tilmon earlier, and I'm learning from it. Sure is fun though to have these speculations.
  7. http://www.miamiredhawks.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/041717aab.html Yeah, he probably doesn't want to play his brother 2(or 3) times a year...
  8. In December 2015, Cotton played the Ball brothers in a Maxpreps Holiday tournament. Found the complete game on youtube. Here it is:
  9. IIRC, These were the last events to go towards the Wagon Wheel Challenge. And with these two to add to it, we now have 7.5 points to KSUcks 6.5 points. Which means the Wagon Wheel challenge trophy now resides in Akron along with the Wagon Wheel.
  10. I hope not. I think he has a chance to flourish under Groce and staff.
  11. Nope. Twitter world has been silent about Duvivier since his visit to Akron. Makes you wonder...
  12. Aaron Jackson looks like he's leaving.
  13. Yeah, those were awful predictions. I thought we needed some changes, and McFadden being the YSU coach would have done that. I think Calhoun is a great hire for YSU. I forgot about Ford's legal issues in Ohio, so I should have known better there. I should have known better than thinking a "splash" name for Miami coach. Just doesn't fit their identity. I'll eat my crow now with some
  14. Are you serious? Do you even know what has gone on at New Mexico lately? A ton of dysfunctional incidents within that program and around it. They did hire the coach at New Mexico State, so that may be solved but that will be a transition there as well. So not sure how that is a better situation than here. Oh wait, you've been against the Groce hire since Day 1. Like others have said, Antino would have fit the DJ Cooper role in Groce's offense and flourished in my opinion. But he wanted to take the easy way out in my opinion. The fact that he's a grad transfer, makes me think he was going to go this route no matter if KD left or stayed. He's gone, time to move on. Besides, you have no idea how much Groce wanted Antino. Reason why I think it wouldn't matter is because of those that went to the press conference and saw that Antino basically brushed it off. Never participated in it, and that told me right there he already made his decision. That whole WZIP interview was just a PR stunt to keep everyone happy until he decided where to go next.
  15. Going to USF Which means we still got two scholarships left. Wouldn't be surprised if Reese comes into play now.
  16. I see that Collins and Poke are following each other on twitter and someone mentioned about Patton and Collins following each other, so....
  17. The one thing I don't think many people are thinking about right now, is that all these Zips/MAC players transferring to Duquesne may be hurting Duquesne on the recruiting trail because they know they may be able to play this season, but what about the following season when all of them can get back on the court in games? We have basically a clean slate here, and that's more enticing to recruits than not sure where you might be in year 2 of your college basketball career.
  18. The fact that Patton picked Akron over Duquesne should open the eyes to Collins as well. Then it's a matter if he wants to go to a dysfunctional USF or sign with us. 11am tomorrow can't get here fast enough. This is very good momentum right now for Coach Groce and his staff on the recruiting trail !!!!!!!!!
  19. I find it interesting that the school KD left, the school that wanted KD, and the school that eventually ended up with KD are his three finalists.
  20. I find it interesting that the school KD left, the school that wanted KD, and the school that eventually ended up with KD are his three finalists.
  21. Forgot about him. I had tunnel vision on the players Groce had at OU. I think Kostelac being a lot like Boothe is a MUCH better comparison than mine. Good call. Out of likes.
