Just stop and think about what our guys accomplished over the past three days. We went down to ACC country and took out two of the premier programs in the nation with an agg score of 5-0. Akron who?

Wake will be streaming the game online tomorrow night on their site. You have to subscribe to their coverage thoguh. So it's $9.95 for the month.

I just called ESPN and they said they're still working out a few minor details. They said they'd have it going ASAP, but as of now they have no ETA.

Great stuff, however what I really want right now is highlights of last night's game. Are they around anywhere?

UNC's website just listed today that the game will be on game tracker. At least in game updates will be available on their site.

I've been surfing the net trying to find if UNC or Wake had any type of video feed for the matches this weekend, but I've found nothing. Does anyone know if the games will be available to watch somehow? I wish I could make it down there in person, but I'd rather save my money for a possible trip to Santa Barbara.

USF's keeper is a stud! Zips are doing everything right except putting the ball in the back of the net.

Are you sure? USF seems to be playing the Akron Spartans, according to their announcer. I thought I was hearing things....Spartans, really? This feed is pretty crappy, but it's free and I can watch some Zips soccer. Can't complain too much!

The Akron Beacon is reporting that 2,835 people showed up last night for the exhibition match verse VCU. That's pretty impressive for a game that was meaningless. The stadium looks amazing! Unfortunately, last night the upper reserved section was closed, but other than that it looks ready to go. I thought that both of the Jamaicans looked really exciting. They seem to be incredibly athletic, and I really noticed that Mattocks has a huge vertical. Kofi scored twice and Nagbe also scored. Besides the own goal in the second minute, I thought that we looked incredibly sharp and ready for the regular season. What did the rest of you that made it out think? Side note, anyone know why Nanchoff didn't play?

Ultimately the main regular season goal is to finish with a #1 seed. Whether that means being the #1 team or the #4 team going into the playoffs, as long as we play all those games at home leading up to the College Cup, that is all you can hope for.

Top Drawer soccer just released their preseason rankings and the Zips didn't come out on top. I guess we'll find out if they made the right choice on September 3rd when UA faces off against UNC. This is going to be a fun year!

Anyone know if the Rowdies will have access to scarves?

The Jerseys are made by OT sports. They're 100% polyester and seem to be pretty well put together. I'm no expert though. Attached are a few pics.

Are they Blue or White (not that it matters, just curious). They're the white home uniforms.

You have got to be kidding me! September 3, FSC has Clemson v. USC instead of UA v. UNC. That is a joke! I'm still hoping that maybe ESPNU would somehow carry it. Wish I could make the roadtrip.

I stopped into the B&N bookstore today. It's definitely official. They are ordering soccer jerseys for those who are interested. Now I just have to decide if its worth $60... I'm thinking it is.

That may not be entirely current, knowing how gozips.com keeps things up-to-date. The Rowdies have recently opened their own website, http://www.akrowdies.org Sign-ups will be held on Welcome Weekend, August 21st and 22nd. As a commuter I won't be on campus that weekend. Will they also have sign ups during the opening week?

I can't wait till the Zips start up in a little over two weeks! Hopefully this year can be even more special than last year. We only lost three players (Gavin, Bunbury, and Zemanski.) Does any one have any idea who is going to step in and fill those shoes? I'm assuming Speas steps in for one of the MF spots, given that he got lots of playing time last year with Nanchoff hurt. I don't know enough about the incoming Freshmen to know what our lineup will probably look like in the opener against UNC. Thoughts?

Interesting thing is that one of the posters thought that UA played for penalties in both Cup games last year. I saw the exact opposite.

UA starting off the season right! Zips #1 This should be a fun year! Also, looking at the rest of the top 25, we have a tough schedule with Wake, UNC, Tulsa, OSU, MSU, Penn State all ranked in the top 25. I'm sure I missed a couple more that are on the schedule.
