  1. I think Coach Bowden is the best choice. We finally have a "name" coach, so let's use his name as much as possible!
  2. Toledo just got a little less formidable as Eric Page declares for the NFL draft.
  3. I have noticed some new members with some really good posts too.
  4. AK-Bowdy is pretty good. Gave me a chuckle.
  5. I think it's a great first impression. NEVER SAY DIE!
  6. Bobby Bowden watched the Zips basketball game. Again. Bobby Bowden watched the Zips basketball game. Stayed up past his bedtime too!
  7. T-Bow (rhymes with cow).
  8. That is awesome!
  9. Yes! Stole one on the road!
  10. Now we go Zips!!!!!!!
  11. Howza bout that BGSU ballarina team?
  12. Now that is optimism.
  13. Fear the mullet!
  14. Morgan State, Can't, Buffalo.
  15. Crossed a new bridge tonight when I stopped and purchased a growler full of Dead Guy Ale on the way home. Growlers=happiness.
  16. Do you find yourself questioning whether all this is real? Pinching yourself because you think you're dreaming? This whole football program went from the lowest point ever to the most optimistic ever in an instant and it just hasn't stopped rolling. All of the media attention, recruiting explosion, positive press, not to mention the positive outlook! I don't know if any of you visit rivals.com, but I am a daily visitor. There's never anything on the message boards about Akron or even the MAC in general. Until yesterday...when I saw Will Bowden win National Championship at Akron? Sure, it's not serious, but when has Akron been in the title of a rivals thread? Unbelievable turn of events for the Zips. I can't wait until the spring game.
  17. He has a shot. He will (imo) be drafted in 2013 if he plays for the Zips, drops down to D2 or plays for the Buckeyes next year. I think he would be drafted if he declared for this year's draft. I'm not poohpoohing his chances at the NFL, I just don't believe that is his main motivation.
  18. I think his best option is Akron also! Because that is what I would like to see. That is what would make me happy. As much as I want him to come back for 2012, I think he has earned the right to do what he thinks will make him happy. I haven't walked a mile in his moccassins, but I am sure there are many totally legit reasons why he is exploring his options. However it all turns out, I hope Wags doesn't look back later and regret his 2012 decision. I have heard that it is better to regret something you did rather than regret something you didn't do, though. Dunno. Regardless of what Brian does, I think things are looking up for the Zips in 2012 and I am happy about that. Go Zips!
  19. Let me ask a question: Do you think Brian Wagner has delusions of grandeur about a prospective NFL career? Does he strike you as that type of person? Or do you think that he just might have a pretty good idea of his chances? Do you think Brian has a realistic assessment of his own skills and talents or do you suppose he thinks playing for Akron his senior year might jeopardize his first round draft status? NFL scouts know talent when they see it. Do you think Brian hasn't already been evaluated by NFL concerns? Do you think Brian is oblivious to this? Do you really think Brian Wagner is (as my dad says) "that ate up"? XU9697 is right. There is a whole lot more to this than the NFL. Think about it. Give Brian a little more credit.
  20. I hope the Zips offensive players are paying attention, absorbing the play of OSU & WVU, envisioning themselves making plays in this offense next year.
  21. Technical question...you know how the board auto corrects so that the proper name of the portage county institution is never seen? Does the current software allow for the use of Ohio State, OSU, OSWho, Buckeyes, Luckeyes, etc. to result in the post disappearing altogether? Thank you.
  22. Is it just me, or is the Stanford band using dog whistle horns? After every touchdown, all I can hear is drums.
  23. I did not know this, but makes my heartrate go up. As a big fan of Mike Leach, I would love to see the Zips run the evolution of his scheme. And JZ84...you said the 3 magic words. FUN TO WATCH!! And in 2009 Terry and his offensive staff went to Lubbock and spent several days with Coach Leach and his staff Where you getting all this information NZF? You better not be jerkin my chain!
  24. Well this comes from a person who thinks U@B is a "scrub team" I just think they are a Canadian team. Seriously, though, they have arguably the best player in the league in Javon McCrea. McCrea will probably struggle against Zeke's length, much like Justin Greene of K-ent. I'm also very interested in seeing how Tree matches up with McCrea. That being said, Buffalo probably is the best team in all of Canada.
  25. I do actually, Keener. Let's hope this hire is more right than you were. As much as I initially thought the iCoach hire was the wrong one, I think this is the right one. I really don't want to jinx us all, but the longer you look at what is going on and the more you learn about Bowden and the staff he is putting together, it is hard not to anticipate great things happening for the Zips. I know that it is extremely early to be optimistic, but Coach Bowden has been spot-on so far. Could anyone else have made a bigger splash with the Zips faithful than T-Bow?
