First of all, perhaps you need to increase your reading comprehension. Second of all, go troll somewhere else. Do you think anyone here really cares what you think? I think someone at Bobcat Attack is calling for you.

Your anecdotal evidence is wonderful. I have some of my own as well. I grew up as football crazy as any kid. All of my classmates and I could have cared less about the Buckeyes. We lived for professional football. Specifically, the Cleveland Browns. When I came to Akron, I frequently heard students openly mocking OSU. The Buckeyes were equated with bumpkinism. Buckeye fans, we joked, couldn't even pronounce the state correctly. Ohiya. To say that the Buckeyes have dominated the area for 50 years is ludicrous. 50 years ago College Football enjoyed a mere fraction of the popularity it does now. I never claimed that OSU hasn't always had the largest portion of the CFB pool in NE Ohio. But if you really think that the Buckeyes rivaled the popularity of the Browns, you are dead wrong. 100% wrong. Furthermore, if the Browns could return to being a perennial playoff team again and if the Buckeyes revert to being the choke artists they were under Cooper and Bruce, you would see people jumping off the Buckeye bandwagon en masse. Stick to Bobcat basketball.

Enlighten me.

The Cleveland-Akron-Canton market. Can you say OSU? I don't really think OSU has very deep hooks into this region. I think there is considerable interest in the Buckeyes as of today, but not so much historically. Wasn't the area Browns dominated back in the day? I'm talking 20-25 years ago. Back when the Browns put a good competitive product on the field. I don't recall much hoopla over OSU at that time. When Modell moved the team to Baltimore, it created a football vacuum in NE Ohio. When the Browns returned they consistently dissapointed while the Buckeyes enjoyed an almost unprecedented run of success under Tressel. I don't think OSU has the region sewed up by any stretch of the imagination.

"This 56-0 victory feels good, but we won't be able to savor it for too long. It's back to work on Monday to begin preparing for a tough Buffalo team next Saturday."

The Zips offense has certainly struggled this year and I know there is a lot of disappointment with the QB play, but things could be worse. A lot worse. Visit This Website

Second round of conference expansion is beginning.

If the Big East is "successful" and lands Air Force, Army, Navy, Temple, UCF & ECU can they officially change their name to CUSA II? They are on life support and grasping at straws. WVU fans have to be losing their minds right now. -
If everyone could perform to Brian Wagner's level, he would have fewer tackles and the Zips would have more wins. Helluva player.

Nope. Those two are a little before my time. Same with Bavarian, Buckhorn and Black Label. I remember going to Municipal Stadium as a kid and the beer vendors selling Black Label. Remember Duke? Goebel? How about the generic beer?

CHEAP BEER. I was at Kroger today looking at the beer cooler when I saw a "discount priced" beer I had never seen before and it got me to thinking about all the beer that we drank back in the day when we were broke. I didn't start drinking until the summer after I graduated high school. I was introduced to bottom shelf beer in June 1986. Old Dutch. I am surprised I wasn't turned off to beer forever after that bad first experience. I really can't remember what else we drank that summer. Mostly what we could get our hands on from family members' refrigerators or get someone to buy for us. From the fridge, it was Genny Cream Ale or Blatz. Sometimes we would score some Budweiser. For some reason, it seemed like when we put an order in it wound up being When I arrived in Akron and got my room assignment in Bulger Hall, it wasn't long before one of the upperclassmen started asking for orders for that first beer run to the Zip Mart. There were some stipulations involved...You had to pay double as the service fee and the only beer available was Wiedemann stubbies. The courier was not going in with a shopping list. It was Wiedemann or nothing. When I moved out of the dorm we settled in on Especially for keg parties. Remember going down to Tramonte to pick up kegs? Right around the time I graduated a new Miller label came out Colder's 29. Remember that one? It didn't last long. As I started making a little money, I thought I would start drinking a little more upscale cheap beer. Do you remember how cheap 30 packs of this were after they stopped calling it Coors? I think not too long after my Extra Gold kick, the craft beer revolution started and changed everything. Before that happened, if we ever drank "good beer", it was an import. There are literally a hundred or more cheap lagers I have had over the years. I bought one at Kroger today for old time's sake. 99 cents for a 24 ounce can. Can't beat that.

I'd probably wait until tomorrow morning. Sounds like you have a winner. JZ84 is correct - Seafood isn't as robust as pork or beef...if you marinate shrimp or scallops overnight, they'll turn to mush. 1/2 hour is all the marinating time it needs before going on the grill. Great. Thanks again. After the letdown of my power source quitting on me at the Temple game, I will finally have satellite tv again. I bought a small generator. So I got that goin' for me, which is nice. See you tomorrow.

Johnny and Captain, Right about now, you 2 are at the top of my Christmas card list. I took your advice and found a recipe online that had your ingredients (and a few more) in it. Just got done putting it all together and WOW is that some good s. That Sriracha chili sauce is killer. Can't wait til tomorrow. One more question though, marinate overnight or wait until tomorrow morning? I was wondering if the lime juice would turn the shrimp to rubber overnight or if it would be ok. I am doing 2 pounds with the lime juice recipe and 2 pounds with my regular chicken marinade with bacon wrap. Thanks, guys.

I was listening to Chris Childers on Rivals Radio this morning and he made the comment that he looks for Leach to take over at FAU next year. Maybe it's not too late. He is a polarizing character, but he would create a lot of excitement and the offense would be fun to watch. I know. I'm dreaming. Leach may become a Lobo. It makes sense. He knows the area. New Mexico sounds like a real mess. Link

Many of the Panther players have decided against making the trip to Akron. They have seen and heard the fear that resides in this man they call Crystal Ball. It is hopeless to challenge the Zips. Their defense is impenetrable. Their offense, prolific. An exhibition shall take place but the outcome is assured. 35-7 Zips will reign victorious over the vanquished foe. Long live Ianello.

Biggest takeaway, the Chisel loves Rob and Jim.

I thought multiple screen names violated t.o.s.

Os his health in question? I thought he was back 100%.

Wow. How can this offense grow when an already-inexperienced group is missing so many pieces? We're paying someone $350,000 this season to figure that stuff out. This week is a mid-2000's "Akron vs. Marshall" type game. Our record is bad. FIU's is very good. We're at home and desperate for a signature win. This is where LR8 needs to shine. He needs to carry the team with his feet and arm. If he completes passes at a 50% clip again, and throws for less than 200 yards again, we lose by 30. No excuses. The Zips need to defend their "house" this Saturday. Another ass-whipping-game-over-at-halftime result isn't an option. I totally agree with you CK, but... Remember when you were talking about the bar being lowered? FIU is being considered a signature win. We're hoping for better than 50% completion and 200 yards. Wow. That's where the program has slipped to.

With Suel out, F.C. Price is going to have to step up.

First Rivals 120 of the season. Zips are 118. EMU is 114. The three teams that blew us out are 46, 50 & 53. Link

Actually Cap'n, some of the best baseball quotes come from politics! Can you believe, she wasn't talking about his son? Wow. Ann Richards. One of the original Lee sisters. This seems to tell another story about the quote. Next, you guys are going to tell me ZipsWin! didn't coin the phrase "Rearranging the Chairs on the Titanic?" No, I'm pretty sure he did.
