Yup.

Try as I may to find some still pics of our guards up, I couldn't. For some reason, old game pics are not archived on gozips.com. If you go back and look at videos of the Zips on youtube, you can see how often the guards were up. As an offensive guard, try drive blocking a powerful, squatty DT out of a 2 point. You are gonna get your lunch et.

Tried to find a pic of Dave's earhole but couldn't. All of the paint was gone around it. He was a guy who used his head as a weapon on every play. You can see a little bit on this card how beat to crap his helmet was.
-
Guards were up in the past. I wonder if our tackles get down on the goalline?
-
Tackles are on an island if there isn't a TE to at least chip that DE on their way by, that is for sure. A team that passes all the time cheats that OT as far off the line of scrimmage as possible also. Personally, I see no reason for OGs to ever be in a 2 point.

Line play is not as down and dirty as it used to be. Does anyone remember Dave Butz' earhole? There used to be head knocking every play.
-
I remember talking to Travis Switzer's dad about his frustration with the 2 point stance because we weren't even getting down in a 3 point on the goal line. Hell, on the goal line, it's not a bad thing to have the offensive line get down in a 4 point stance if you want.

Is Groceries the official nickname?

Pass blocking out of a 3 point stance is much easier than run blocking out of a 2. Anyone who doesn't think so, try it in the back yard with your friends.

Please keep doing these summaries. I can't watch the videos and it keeps me somewhat in the loop of what is going on. Thank you.

Is this from the Bible?

How in the Hell did these bums beat LSU? They look terrible so far.

Toledo finally woke up?

Goddamn you.

I think we are in agreement mostly. I just think that if there is a really tough decision to be made between 2 resumes that are extremely close, the money interest will win out every time. As a fan of a school with no Blue Privilege™, I definitely would love to see the playing field level and a have-not get in there on merit. I’m not agreeing with the OP that it is rigged, but the tie-breakers belong to the big money powers.

I will try to be brief because you might TLDR me. 1. I don’t think PSU is on the same level of B.B. as the other 3 I named. 2. I don’t think it was a dead heat between those 2 teams. 3. The B1G demographic was covered with OSUs inclusion and Washington delivered the PAC demographic.

Miami vs. OU - Tonight @ 8pm on ESPN2

Let him come back. He's liable to be rusty. Ol' Rusty Rags. -
I'm not sure how ESPN's Football Power Index arrives at their numbers. Somebody get Condi on the phone and see what she thinks our chances are.

Please elaborate. This could be the beginning of some fantastic conversation that might even evolve into vigorous debate.

Oh my goodness guys. No D1 program is ever going to fail to meet the attendance requirement. We are arguing over the fudge factor. If you think we averaged 15K this season without the fudge factor you need your head examined. On our best days the home side is half full. The visitor side never comes close to reaching half full. Each side seats 15K. Do the math.

Some things you can be sure of: In a dead heat/flip a coin scenario for the 4th and final spot where the following pairs would be considered: Ohio State vs. Oklahoma State Notre Dame vs. TCU Alabama vs. Miami The first team listed in each of these pairs will be picked every time by a committee of humans. You can take that to the bank. A computer would not care about the politics of the matter. The team that was .000001 better would be in. That might mean Miami and their horrific fan base would be represented over Alabama and their mighty fan base, etc. That just can't happen. Too many dollars involved.
-
Here's the problem with the committee. . . These people are soooooooooo smart. They are looking at every possible piece of information to determine the 4 best teams to be in the playoff. Crunching numbers. Analyzing data. Almost like a, a, a, a computer. These people who are sooooooooooo smart could put their heads together and input all of their metrics into a computer program and it would be settled. But then we wouldn't have the weekly self aggrandizing, made-for-tv-drama circle jerk. Oh. We wouldn't have any wiggle room either. Maybe we should just name Condi the College Football Playoff Czar and let her decide in whatever manner she chooses.

On the other channel. . . How bad is Kent? -
It should be determined by a computer. Why is there not a committee to determine which Ohio High Schools make the playoffs? Because everyone knows that would be some ridiculous political bullsh!t, that's why.
