Ever wonder about the proliferation of bowls? Going back to 1986 when I started college, the bowl games were 18 or 19 through the year 1996. The only oddball year was 1988. There were 17 that year. Starting in 1997, the bowls began to grow. 1997-20 1998-22 1999-23 2000-25 2001-24 2002 through 2005-28 2006-32 2007&8-34 2009 through 2014-35 2015&16-41 2017-40 In today's college football, if you don't make a bowl. . .

I have no idea what this season will bring. My expectations are very low but I think there is an opportunity for great success. I really like Utomi, Ivey and Olajapoke and if some of the newcomers can step in and play well, we may be in for a very pleasant surprise. If we lose a lot, at least we have that new scoreboard.
