I like Michael Reghi he does his homework, he did the Northern Illnois game last season and spoke highly about the program making strides. I think Gilbert screwed him with the Cavs. They are probably looking for a STO guy since they switched there coverage fron FSO.

What face would you want to put on our team? Going to the MAC preseason meeting would be a good opportunity to put players that can make the program look bright.I'm sure that Coach I knows what he's doing,I mean he's from ND right.

I feel your pain CK, you feel like a red headed step child. You've put so much into this University and get treated like you are just common folk. I think that the powers to be have not done there due diligence. When you put such energy into any given project and to be overlooked is frustrating. I think the AD is made a mistake in not addressing the diehard fans. He needed to ask the insiders first to get a gauge on there opinion. It's not like we're talking about thousands. We need to stick together to get this program off the ground, hopefully the new coach can get it done.

When do the start times for the games come out?

OK now that I've heard all the comments and suggestions,here's my take we need to single out the players that can be the face of our program. What does this program want to project to the public? I think we need to have players that want to look at the big picture and accept the responsibilty of being a Division 1 football player. Time passes by so quickly and these young men need to understand the urgency. Hopefully we have a leader on the team that will lead us to the promise land and a MAC Championship. Go Zips!!

What does this football team need to do to get more people in the stands??

Thank You for starting probably the most important thread in month's. This is without a doubt the most crucial piece to address with the team. Field position and gimme chip shot field goals are so important to success on a football team that we have not had and needs to be addressed. There's three parts of any football team and each one is as important as the other,1)offense2)defense3)special teams. I think if we can get better at special teams that we will be more competive and give ourselves a chance at winning more consistently. Go Zips!!

I think Coach I needs to give respect to players that work hard. I understand the "my way or the highway" mentality but at the end of the day the yelling and screaming only goes so far. I'm sure that he can always pull back with his temperment but these guys want to win too. He needs to install the new offense and defense and coach them with confidence. Go Zips!

We need players that want to work hard and buy into the new guys system and if that means proving yourself again than so be it.

I agree ,for someone who is supposed to be one of the top recruiters in the country how does that happen. I'm sure he texted a few recruit's in the past.

I was at the game and there is alot of work to do. Defensively it looked pretty good, there's so many players hurt that it really doesn,t give a good gauge on where or what we need to address. Offensively we need to identify another go to guy other than LaFrance, at the RB situation I think they went away from running the rock with Allen because there's no sense in getting him hurt since Broderick is injured. I heard that Nicely has a bad sinus infection and was sick as hell. All in all the team seemed to have energy and are for the most part grasping the new coaching staff's philosophy. Change is good.That's what I'm talking about!

ok here goes....I think since last year we where winning going into the fourth quarter in every game but Temple, barring injury we will win seven games maybe more if the players can grasp the new offense and defensive concept. This team needs to have the "No Excuses mentality"there comes a a time in your football career that you need to man up and quit with the excuses. They need to listen and learn,you only have one shot at this so let's hope that the team embraces the new coaches. That's what I'm talking about!!

Well fellow zipsters what will the record be after Coach I's first year?

In this case, we have at least a sample (not huge, of course) of viewing Rodgers v. Nicely in game action. Rodgers was thrown into a bad situation, no doubt. But, you can just see it with Nicely. I never thought he would look as good as he did so soon. Throw out the stats..the kid just looks like a QB, and a darn good one. If Rodgers comes out and beats him, I will be somewhat surprised, somewhat impressed, and at least a little bit concerned about our coaching staff (and their decisions). just because the last regime screwed the pooch doesn't mean nicely wasn't the best qb on the roster...if the coach dosen't give him a shot because he was married to jacquemain etc,etc has nothing to do with nicely's ability...we saw it with getsy in '06 I don't understand....married???

skip, there is a reason that many folks, me included, switched to the Nicely camp after clamoring for Rodgers to play. Once Matt Rodgers was exposed to actual game speed he was simply overwhelmed. Frankly, the game was way too fast for him. Matt showed no sighs of catching up. Pat Nicely stepped up and delivered right out of the box. There was plenty of talk at Spring practice that Nicely (still in HS) was better than CJ or MR. Truth is, he is. I actually agree with some of what you are saying, especially as it pertains to Matt. But, I am curious about a couple of things. You say that Pat "delivered right out of the box". What sold you on this conclusion more? His 9 of 23 performance against Ohio? Or, his 11 of 27 performance against NIU? And I sure hope that his high school playoff performance in which his offense put NO points on the board was ignored if anyone truly thought he was ready to be a D1 starter. After the Central Michigan game (Matt's last start), we never scored over 20 points again the rest of the season, with the exception of two home games against two of the worst teams in the MAC. That's also not going to help give me the impression that we somehow found answers to our offensive woes over the last 8 games with Pat at the helm. Sorry...I was a long way away from any thought that "we've found our QB" after last season. I'm not sold on either of them, and really was hoping that our new coach had brought in a transfer QB with him. I just sure hope that one, or both of them, has made some good progress during the off season. First of all the last I checked the media guide has his name is Patrick not Pat as for the 9 for 23 Ohio game can you spell dropped passes and wrong routes and a terrible special team, and the 11 for 23 NIU game was winning going into the fourth and a dropped TD pass to Dashan to go up big and as for High School come on hater.
