Yes unlike the other Akron team, the FOOTBALL team actually won on Sunday. It wasn't pretty but it was a win.

It's okay at least Akron has a good soccer team....the sport no one else in country cares about. KD's teams have been losing to mediocre teams every year. I guess it's my own fault for thinking that maybe we'd actually start the season strong. But like always the only games that will truly matter are at the Q.

Black uniforms don't work for Akron. Our colors are blue and gold. I get that black is technically a neutral color, but it's so overused in sports and doesn't look good at all on the Zips.

He only took a few snaps in the middle of another drive and only throw it once? a play that resulted in a pass interference. I think Hirschman deserved a chance to start a drive, just to see what would happen. Honestly it couldn't have been much worse.

Just don't get the hype around Johnson. He's just too slow. Personally feel like he should get the RS. Yes it's good to have size, but so did some pre-Zeke centers. Bardo and Swiech? I hope I'm wrong, but we'll see.

Will be nice to see the team in action. But unfortunately a D3 opponent would give us much of a tune-up. Just hoping we can avoid injuries and get everyone some playing time.

Perfect example of how bad MAC officiating is. How can an Akron player get punched in the gut and no foul called? Only until after they watched the replay did they realize.

Probably because they would have to buy new decals every time they wanted to switch the design. Once you take the A-Roo off, they get thrown away and you replace it with Z's. Would be a never ending cycle of throwing away decals and buying new ones. Pants are different because it doesn't cost them extra money every time they decide to wear white, blue or gold. We already own them. I'd much rather see Gold and Blue helmets both with the Z logo. But I doubt UA could afford that.

Honestly, if the Zips can go 2-2 the rest of the season I will be happy. Hopefully they can carry some momentum from this game and put up a strong performance against the Balls.

Very good drive for the Zips. I like the fact that they went right back to Bickley. Need to give him a chance to redeem himself. Yes it should definitely be 24-7, but this season has been filled with "Should-haves." Time to start getting it DONE. Can the defense make a stop? we'll see...

Sorry but that was a touchdown. Bickley was leaning forward across the goal line when the ball came out.

The only knock I have is that there is way too much support for Porter here. He is no longer the coach at Akron but people still act like he is. I couldn't care less what happens in Portland or in the MLS. He could win 10 championships up there but it still doesn't help us one bit. Much like Huggins winning in WVU doesn't help UA. Coaches leave and it's time to move on.
