Just saw @ZipsFB tweeted a photo from a video shoot tonight. Sadly looks like we'll be wearing the same JD/Ianello uniforms.
In the past two seasons every MAC school has gotten new uniforms except for us. What we have has become outdated and associated with very poor play on the field. Something like uniforms could go a long way in improving our image.
Honestly at this point in the season I want to see the defense beating the offense. As we saw last season our offense can definitely score, but none of that matters if we can't keep the opponent out of the endzone.
For people who hate Lebron. Next time he is practicing at the JAR, just go up and ask him to leave. Problem solved. Since you obviously know what's best for our program.
While I did spend a lot of time at the Exchange McDonalds during my UA tenure. It's going to look very out of place in a few years. Crazy since it seems like just yesterday that Mcdonalds was the only decent looking building along that street. Guess that shows how far the area has come in a short time. I doubt they can do anything about it now, but I wish we could see another multi-story storefront/building in that place. They could still find a way to incorporate a Mcdonalds in a new building.
Short term Tressel would seem like a good replacement. But, what happens when he decides to return to coaching? What if we need someone to replace Bowden in a few years? What happens when people "forget" about him. Is he experienced enough? We need higher enrollment and continued campus developments. If anything he can definitely get students interested in UA...
Well regarding Akron's uniforms, I actually doubt they'll be making any changes this year. While "style" is very important to recruits, I think our staff is focusing on fixing the problems on the field first. Not that it matters but Can't got some boring new jerseys this season. Nothing special...
Losing is the best tradition we have at Akron. Luckily every year they allow a select few of us to experience it. And every year they become more dedicated in assuring that the tradition continues...
Most likely he's going to have to play in the D-League. I honestly don't see that as a negative. Stay in the US and develop his skills. Eventually the hard work will pay off.
I agree with your first point. Tressel is to football, what Lebron is to basketball. Aside from the fact that Tressel actually works with UA and helps in his VP role. Both bring credibility to a school that helps us gain attention. Both have sparked much debate among fans if they are really needed or if they do enough. The way I see it neither one needs UA. They chose to associate themselves with us.
Having said that I don't ever see a scenario where Tressel is UA's football coach. Once he decides to return to coaching plenty of big time programs will be there for him to pick from.
Sometimes I get bother with extreme court designs. But then I remember that we've seen this in the past:
Honestly I think that for visibility of a playing field/court, less distraction the better. I don't mind having giant logos or designs faded on the court.
I wouldn't mind seeing the JAR have a cool modern looking court. Maybe a giant "Z" at midcourt or "AKRON" similar to how the Q had "Cavaliers"
I completely forgot that UA is taking control of the building. I'm not sure if it's been covered here, but will they completely remodel it? Seems really out of place with the new campus buildings.
Would have to think he'd have better options than Akron. Penn State, Cincy, Ohio State, Maryland, West Virginia... Plenty of big schools reasonably close to the city in western PA.
