  1. don't we normally post depth charts for game week? curious if there are any surprises or not, even though the depth chart might not mean much. Its football season fellas. Go ZIPS!
  2. good to see our (lack of) media coverage is noted by outsiders.
  3. Nebraska RB calling it a career. Unsure how much he was figured to play this year, but the article makes it seem like he was pretty good. https://www.omaha.com/huskers/football/nebraska-running-back-tre-bryant-retires-from-football-because-of/article_f9c76670-61f6-57bf-8ec9-85b388ea4258.html
  4. I just hope this means I never have to read an RPI comparison ever again on this board.
  5. i was wondering the same thing myself. I will likely be out of the country that weekend and am trying to find a way to watch/record assuming its on tv.
  6. its the arm tat, isn't it?
  7. Thats kind of a bummer. I wonder what happened.
  8. http://www.cantonrep.com/opinion/20180817/editorial-university-of-akron-cutting-low-demand-degrees-makes-sense
  9. All hail the Cap'n. I haven't seen as much as you, but I have heard Malik's (and noticed him during the spring game) a lot more than I thought I would given the point of his career and his high school tape. Hopefully Brown and Brimage will be okay.
  10. That was so dumb I actually laughed my ass off.
  11. From the list I looked at, it seems most if not all were cut because there is very low demand for them or there are near-duplicate alternative options out there. I don't see the issue.
  12. I can't believe Reinke was moved to TE. Starting (and sound) DE to TE where he might not even play much. I don't think we are really as thin as GT makes us out to be. You have Newman (although oft injured), Wolfley, Junk, and possibly Johns. I interpret it as meaning Sampson, Brady, and possibly Meeks are looking good.
  13. I have never heard "Ph. D programs" and "key to the regional economy" in the same sentence before.
  14. Shawn has been the definition of steady his entire career. Looking forward to another nice season from him.
  15. I consider LIU Brooklyn (Cotton) a low major. Maybe I am off base though.
  16. So if my memory serves me correct, we had 3 scholly players leave this year. One went JUCO, one went low major, and one went DII. I liked these guys, but it seems like them moving on was the right move for all parties involved.
  17. Good stuff guys. Thanks for the write ups. Doesn't seem like Morris is doing much huh? Maybe pretty realistic though as he hasn't played WR in 2 years.
  18. According to an article I saw in the paper (I don't have a link), Tim Scippio did make it on campus and Brady played in the scrimmage today. Looking forward to hearing your summary @CDMac as well as anyone else's who may have went.
  19. Alvin Davis named the 25th best player in the MAC by Hustlebelt. Have to imagine Brown, Gilbert, and possibly Davis will be on there. https://www.hustlebelt.com/2018/8/4/17646400/kyron-brown-db-akron-zips-football-top-players-2018-mid-american-conference
  20. i think link is broke
  21. Interesting little read. We seem to have been much more conservative during our better years (looking at the last 4 as a sample size). http://footballscoop.com/news/interactive-chart-shows-often-favorite-coach-goes-fourth/
  22. 3 QBs splitting first team reps, none of which have D1 college experience, against our veteran D is a great thing for our odds of pulling an upset.
  23. Hey now, the LTT story ended with him transferring to a G5 team that went 0-12. I think those days are behind us for good I like Reinke's story (local guy, hard worker, good character, former walk on), but he is pretty much just a guy. I see no reason Brady can't come in and beat him out. At the very worst he is a depth piece, which is also needed. Brady was a freshman all-american at Mizzou, and put up the same sack numbers that year as future first round pick Charles Harris. From my reading, MTSU switched to a 3-4 after he got there, away from the 4-3 he played at Mizzou. He also had some injury issues last year. I hope and think he brings a good attitude and can stay healthy. Its literally his last opportunity to impress scouts and get a shot at the league. Him and Davis could be terrors on the ends this year in the conference. TB has a good track record of taking on these types.
  24. well speak of the devil lol.
  25. All yours buddy. Your breakdown is more informative than mine, so I'll let you own that. I'll just keep you in line
