I've said I think the team does have talent to compete in the MAC and a lot of the issues in the ISU and Troy game seem to me come from a result of poor coaching. I don't think either of those teams were superior in talent to us. I just posted if we lose to BG we should leave them there. The goal is to always win, but you're taking away from your credibility if think winning every game is in anyway realistic. We root for one of the worst programs in D1 history and a G5 program at that. This isn't Ohio State or Alabama.

That doesn't answer my question. You're using last year as a basis to say ISU isn't very good. Fine. I can't use last year as a basis to say Troy is a good G5 program?

The AD needs to consider firing Bowden on the spot if we don't win this one. Leave them in BG.

Serious question ZG01 and Keener - will there ever be a loss where you don't think the world is on fire? Not that I think last night was a "good" loss. So spare me with the excuse bullshit because I am not making any. Get blown out by NFP contender? World is on fire. Lose to ISU? World is on fire. Lose to Michigan closely? They weren't that good. Lose to Troy closely? They weren't that good. Is any team that we play closely and lose to going to automatically be assumed to be "not that good" simply due to the fact that we played them close?

Don't be a doucher. Troy won 10 games last year and will compete for the Sunbelt this year. They were also bigger favorites than ISU was over us. With that said, no excuse for losing. Just get your facts straight. I feel like sometimes people forget that we are a G5 team.

Annoyed at tonight's loss. Even more than the ISU game, I don't think that team was better than us. The biggest issue is us beating ourselves. Stupid penalties, stupid turnovers. I thought Woody played a good game outside of three plays really, and I don't hold the last INT against him as much as the game was basically over anyways. I don't really feel we are lacking talent to compete in the MAC. I think the D is improved from last year, but I'd like to see more of a pass rush, Gilbert (preseason MAC DPOY) make more plays, and the defense in general capitalize on their chances to create turnovers. A stop on 4th down of a Jordan George INT on that last drive wins the game. I have concerns about the WR corp, but I think they look a lot better if Wolf can get and stay fully healthy. Formidable for the MAC at least. Same goes for the OL. I'd hope run blocking looks a lot better against lesser teams. Unfortunately I do think a lot of the issues come from coaching. Just too undisciplined of a team which costs us. I do however think we have enough talent to pull off a 7-5 or 6-6 season. Time to earn your worth Bowden & Co or time to go. BG, Buffalo, and Kent should be guaranteed wins. Thats 4 there. Toledo is a loss. I've paid close attention to WMU and am not very impressed. Stop the run and you can beat them. Beat 2 of WMU, Ohio, Ball St, and Miami and we should be bowling. It's possible.......but time will tell.

Only had 1 safety deep on that play as well for whatever reason. The play before Amato had Gilbert at DT. Sampson and Ward, both not starters, were in for whatever reason the majority of the last drive. Amato really crap the bed there.
