  1. Did somebody say this is technically an exhibition game?
  2. He does. Don't know all the ins and outs, but seems like he played at St Eds last year, potentially did/planned to transfer to Glenville, but ended up back with Eds.
  3. Saying Norton is the most talented WR on the roster is certainly high praise.
  4. Tru. I also don't understand why in football players can play up to 4 games (33% of the season) and still have their redshirt. And basketball per my understanding, where you play many more games, the redshirt is burned as soon as you play. Makes no sense to me.
  5. Congrats to coach Groce on his 300th win. Admittedly up until this point, I've also more so associated his identity with Ohio (much like most would with KD and Akron), but the reality is he spent 4 years at OU, 5 years at Illinois, and is now in his 7th(!) year at Akron. Time sure does fly. We are lucky to have his coach and staff. Great representatives of the University whose teams conduct themselves the right way (and have been really fun to watch).
  6. I heard something similar on the post game show. Assuming we have quality eligible players, his thought process is that you're a lot better in your 5th year than you are in your first year, and you get an extra year of free education. Hard to argue with that. Just means we get a better Darrion Baker!
  7. I too have been disappointed with Tavari so far this season, primarily after all the potential he showed scoring in OOC last year. Also seemed to me after a number of his misses, USM came down and hit a shot in his face. Maybe I’m missing some of the smaller things. He does seem to have good effort on defense and makes some nice passes. I left last night leaning with wanting Thornton to start for now. Regardless, still a big fan of Tavari’s overall potential. We’ve seen it.
  8. Great game and win. Still early, but if Nate Johnson really took this big of a step forward..sheesh! Already mentioned, and I'm not one to jump in on all the gameday experience talk, but we gotta do better. Only the main concession stand open with 3 people working. One beer stand open. Getting anything was a nightmare.
  9. Our current HS recruiting class is the likely they best on paper since I've became a fan back in 2010. I don't think we're planning on adding many more, and to my knowledge, not aware of any who have decommitted during this disappointing season. So as for the immediate future, this discussion really relates to our transfers to supplement the HS class. Biggest needs are QB (by far 1) and OL. We have a highly touted OL from Miami thats on campus. I guess potential for Landers to come back. Our young guys are only going to get bigger, stronger, and better throughout their careers. There are many years of proof that you want to play QB in Joe Moe's system. Even this year its not like position hasn't had opportunity, the play has just stunk. Get that position, and a few more transfer who perform like Nunnally, Jones, Fish, Hunter, etc...and we have the potential to make a big jump. But it all hinges on finding at least an average QB.
  10. And I suspect his season (and career) is over considering he went out with injury. Seems like a tough guy so I assume it’s serious. Such a waste of talent.
  11. Tallandier is good for at least one PI a game.
  12. we have two pretty solid TE's IMO, but never use them.
  13. That too. Whatever the hell happened to the strategy of putting Bullock in in those situations? Don't believe its been stopped all year.
  14. Joe's stubborness to go under center bites us in the ass once again. The numbers don't like. QB sneak in that situation is nearly unstoppable.
  15. He is. I'd like to see us go from the Miami guy to the former walk on from Kentucky (Hester).
  16. We're playing a QB with a bum throwing arm over Bullock and every other QB on our roster. Tells you all you need to know.
  17. Why not make them punt the football???
  18. Now we all know Miami is going to score right?
  19. Hate to say it, but Bullock looks so unnatural trying to play QB.
  20. Give the ball to Lingard and we move the ball. Why does the staff have to relearn this every game.
  21. Give the ball to Lingard and good things happen. Why does it feel like the staff has to relearn this every game.
