  1. Thanks for sharing. That's a good sign if Bullock is looking as good as this states. To me this would mean expectations of all MAC performer for 3 years as he's only a R-Soph. May the best man win. Varying opinions on here of DJ, and I like him, but its a great thing if the transfers we are bringing in are competing and starting. Means we are upgrading talent and depth. I'm surprised to hear about OL and kickers looking good, but sure won't complain. Feel like there's question marks (but cautious optimism) about those units, but maybe transfers and development of younger players is boding well. I feel solid about CB with Hunter, Tallandier, and Thomas (even though he's a freshman) brought in + another year of growth development for Durant, Lewis, Golden-Nelson, and Threatt. A bit surprised to hear about interior DL. Feel like a mix of Lavea, Robinson, Jones, Thomas, Carter, and maybe Murphy would be formidable. Either our interior OL is going to be really good or interior DL will be an issue. I'm honestly more worried about DE outside of Johnson.
  2. Scott at PG I presume and not Tribble?
  3. Sure we be great if we could get literally any coverage of the team during camp aside from a few pictures here and there by the zips social media. to be clear - calling out local media coverage as well as the university. I enjoyed the after practice interviews that have been done in the past.
  4. *We have a roster* All newcomers expected appear to be here. Only one I didn't see from this years cycle, who I believe was here in spring, was Ahmad Rabah (DE from D2 or D3). Also notice some number changes and Darius Owens listed as a RB, but I think that might be an error as I don't think he even played it at all in high school. Saquan's brother is here. I'm still having us as 2 over the limit, when I believe Cap'n mentioned Coach said they were two under the limit (which I assume would be reserved for specialists as we aren't adding new players at this time). Honestly not sure at this point who is on the team that we have down as being on scholly that isn't. AJ George would be my only guess as he was also a walk on at Cinci. 5. I'll go 6-6 just because I'm a Zips fan. That means a bowl game and nearly as much enjoyment as I've had as Zips fan in my 13+ years following the program 🤢. Can't be greedy!
  6. Posted on their Twitter I believe.
  7. I also think he has a twin brother who plays the same position that might be committing too? Also, this is now 3 players committed from this high school. Need some background on this school and your prediction on who will have the best career @catdaddyplol
  8. Looks like you got some good info!
  9. Awesome. Thank Captain!
  10. Never seen so much interest in a walk on QB.
  11. I have no inside knowledge, just my opinion, but I think Bullock will be good competition for Irons, but Irons gets the nod if healthy or unless Bullock is looking amazing. At the very least we have depth which is a great thing. Need to keep in mind he suffered a pretty gruesome looking (and serious) injury to his throwing shoulder last year. Irons seems pretty polarizing on this board for whatever reason, but I like him while being able to recognize he makes some head scratching throws and needs to throw the ball away sometimes. May the best man win.
  12. Long I’m sure will have a much better senior season playing against the powerhouse competition that is West Virginia high school football.
  13. Kaiwan Murphy in pic 2. Would be a pleasant surprise if we got some good production out of him this year. I recall staff speak highly of him as a true freshman last season (as well as Jaharon Griffin).
  14. I hope he does. It would be great for everyone. There is definitely some opportunity to get some playing time at CB, but I think expecting a true freshman to come in and crack the 2 deep over other proven D1 players might be a tad bit biased and a discredit to the other great athletes on the team.
  15. Like I said, may be right and I wouldn't be surprised, but for what its worth, I believe Tre Bell is from GA and Joel R. has a place in the Miami area. Hard to differentiate when they are going down there for recruiting or personal purposes, but I'd imagine having the residences down there would also save on the budget (if they're trying to be price conscious and get the most bang for their buck). I also think the proceeds from the Zips day of giving went to the recruiting budget and who knows - maybe Kaulig or another big donor stepped up to allow us to do more.
  16. You may certainly be right and I wouldn't be surprised if the staff is allocating more $$ towards recruiting as opposed to staff, but I'm curious as to what makes you think we are shelling out a larger recruiting budget? Doesn't cost much (in fact you might make money) having a prospect come to a camp. I'd imagine hosting recruits for official visits is pretty inexpensive - give them food and put them in an empty dorm room? To me the real money in recruiting is travel. I honestly don't know if we are doing more of that or not.
  17. Offers to Ball St, BG, Duke, EMU, UMASS, Miami (OH), Ohio, and Toledo. We are consistently bringing in players right now who seem to be a step up from what the program has in the 14+ years I've been following. In the past, we may have gotten a few of these guys at signing day after offers have seemingly fallen through, but we're legitimately beating out other programs for these guys. Great time to be a Zip!
  18. This!
  19. Shaping up to be perhaps the best Zips prep class I can remember since following the Zips. 4 good gets this weekend imo.
  20. Yeah waste of a pick by them. Then again many NBA 2nd round picks are wastes.
  21. Southern Miss won the Sun Belt regular season title last year. Nice.
