  1. Kaiwan Murphy in pic 2. Would be a pleasant surprise if we got some good production out of him this year. I recall staff speak highly of him as a true freshman last season (as well as Jaharon Griffin).
  2. I hope he does. It would be great for everyone. There is definitely some opportunity to get some playing time at CB, but I think expecting a true freshman to come in and crack the 2 deep over other proven D1 players might be a tad bit biased and a discredit to the other great athletes on the team.
  3. Like I said, may be right and I wouldn't be surprised, but for what its worth, I believe Tre Bell is from GA and Joel R. has a place in the Miami area. Hard to differentiate when they are going down there for recruiting or personal purposes, but I'd imagine having the residences down there would also save on the budget (if they're trying to be price conscious and get the most bang for their buck). I also think the proceeds from the Zips day of giving went to the recruiting budget and who knows - maybe Kaulig or another big donor stepped up to allow us to do more.
  4. You may certainly be right and I wouldn't be surprised if the staff is allocating more $$ towards recruiting as opposed to staff, but I'm curious as to what makes you think we are shelling out a larger recruiting budget? Doesn't cost much (in fact you might make money) having a prospect come to a camp. I'd imagine hosting recruits for official visits is pretty inexpensive - give them food and put them in an empty dorm room? To me the real money in recruiting is travel. I honestly don't know if we are doing more of that or not.
  5. Offers to Ball St, BG, Duke, EMU, UMASS, Miami (OH), Ohio, and Toledo. We are consistently bringing in players right now who seem to be a step up from what the program has in the 14+ years I've been following. In the past, we may have gotten a few of these guys at signing day after offers have seemingly fallen through, but we're legitimately beating out other programs for these guys. Great time to be a Zip!
  6. This!
  7. Shaping up to be perhaps the best Zips prep class I can remember since following the Zips. 4 good gets this weekend imo.
  8. Yeah waste of a pick by them. Then again many NBA 2nd round picks are wastes.
  9. Southern Miss won the Sun Belt regular season title last year. Nice.
  10. On my phone but it looks like we are going to the Cayman's again. Might have to make the trip this year.
  11. Though drinking and driving is serious no matter the circumstances, there's a difference between having a couple of beers after work with your buddy and getting nailed for having a tail light out and this. Hope the best for Bob.
  12. So, who does WVU target?….
  13. Not a good offseason for Huggy.
  14. Unless you know something that hasn't been posted on here, he wasn't an early enrollee as is the case with most freshman, and theres been nothing to indicate he won't be joining the team in the summer.
  15. This is the one you liked right?
  16. I might be missing someone, but I'm only counting 6 JUCOS out of 35+ new players.
  17. Can't imagine him de-committing would mean anything but one of two things: He knows of a better offer or offers incoming, or we have a better prospect we know that is committing.
  18. I’m thinking on scholly.
  19. Thomas gone already?? Damn.
  20. Unfortunately Ka'Marri Landers also no longer appears on the roster. He's another guy I couldn't locate on the sideline or field during spring game. Right now, I have us at 90 scholarship players, with bringing in 23 JUCO/transfer portal players. I decided not to count Ridge Howard as he didn't post the same committed graphic as the other clearly scholarship players and I don't believe he was actually on scholarship at NIU either as he wasn't included in their signing day bios.
