1-2 in the tournament against 3 pretty good teams, and competed well in all of them. More importantly, I think we have our next star and have him for 4 more years (hopefully).

My 2 cents - Akron is playing for some sort of momentum to go into the offseason. Another angle the staff may or may not be looking at is getting younger players experience and seeing what the have in them, though I believe the focus should be on winning. On the other hand, NIU had an incredibly disappointing season and is probably ready to get it over with. I’m also kind of wishy washy on the Zips playing Buffalo. I want to see them play for my own benefit, but maybe it’s best just to get the season over with and concentrate on recruiting. The game is being played though, so it’s a moot point.

Don’t know much about NV, but us having an extra 6 hours of rest plus NV going to OT would appear to be an advantage for us when both teams are playing their 3rd game in as many days.

Duds from a number of guys and LSU shooting lights out will get us this. two positives: Hunter seeing the ball go through the net a few times and T Johnson getting experience.

Offense has slowed to a halt.

Going into the half +2 considering the lack of production from Freeman is really encouraging. Need to get him involved, and need to play better in general on offense. Clarke and T Johnson at little sloppy for my liking. Defense and effort is the reason we are where we are. Finish strong!

Offense looking sluggish with X getting a break

I see zero reason why Toledo would be ranked ahead of us at this point if the ranking is based purely off of on court performance. Toledo has one nice mid major win and a really bad loss. We have two nice mid major wins and a “good” loss, considering it came against a SEC team ranked 25 in their standings. MSU had a nice win over Marquette last night. They look to be a competitor in conference this season.

Mhmm..playing Buffalo today then even moving the NIU game to Sunday if you need to doesn’t seem like that difficult a task.

I don’t blame UB. This has conference blunder written all over it. We will have to agree to disagree at this point, but I’m of the belief that the game should have been moved (either up a day or two or a different location) and the alt route you suggest wasn’t a viable option as Lake Effect snow was an issue from Buffalo to Cleveland suburbs.

Great win! That’s what we need to look like if we want to repeat.

Love seeing Freeman take it right at the big guy.

And if you don’t have dominate big men, you gotta be able to hit the 3 to make up for it, which we haven’t shown we can do this season (yet). Enrique was the MAC DPOY last year and is also a force on offense as well. I hope he makes us remember that down in the Caymans. Cant control much on offense on the scoring side if they are doubling down on him and the rest of the team isn’t hitting their shots when he kicks it out , but I see nothing stopping him on the defensive side..just gotta stay out of foul trouble.

Buffalo will ultimately decide whether this game gets played. If they’re in the MAC-C, it won’t be played. If they’re bowl eligible, I’m skeptical it would be played. Should we cater to them? I’m all for playing the game because I enjoy watching the Zips this season for the most part though we haven’t been able to get over the hump. Just rubs me the wrong way that the team who had to cancel will ultimately get to make the call.
