  1. If you're a fan of Akron basketball, you should be able to recognize the guards and wings outside of X need to start hitting some shots, including free throws. Has nothing to do with size Groce did or didn't bring in. Their job is easier with players cheating on Freeman. A few guys need to step up, or no tourney for us.
  2. I know somebody said Bubba wasn't announced on senior night, but it also looks like Ravontae Holt wasn't either. Good news for us. "AKRON HONORS 17 SENIORS Akron will honor 17 players competing in their final home game in pregame ceremonies before the squad's showdown with Eastern Michigan on Tuesday, Nov. 8. Among those being honored are redshirt junior LS Kyle Bauman (North Royalton, Ohio), redshirt junior DB Sean Conroy (North Olmsted, Ohio), redshirt senior DB Logan Day (Cincinnati, Ohio), senior P Noah Gettman (Daytona Beach, Fla.), DL Curtis Harper, redshirt junior DL Logan Hawkins (Harrison City, Pa.), senior DB Jalen Hooks (Warren, Ohio), redshirt senior DL Angelo Howze (Fishers, Ind.), WR Shocky Jacques-Louis, redshirt senior DL Victor Jones (Sacramento, Calif.), redshirt senior DB Jaylen Kelly-Powell (Detroit, Mich.), redshirt sophomore WR Jalen Knight (Akron, Ohio), redshirt senior DL Zach Morton (Detroit, Mich.), redshirt sophomore TE Jacob Shaffer (Portersville, Pa.), K Cory Smigel, redshirt senior LB Tim Terry (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and redshirt senior OL Anthony Whigan (Lexington Park, Md.)."
  3. Fair point for sure.
  4. Biggest needs will be multiple positions on both lines and multiple CBs I think. Outside of that, a guy here and there to supplement graduation loss or improve depth.
  5. Indeed, but we significantly out kicked our coverage in landing JoeMo. If he can’t turn around this program, who can? I’ve posted more in detail about this in other threads, but considering the competiveness in conference play this year, We are probably about a dozen players away from 6-6 next year, and based on how the staff has recruited this cycle, they know it. Thank God for the transfer portal.
  6. Bottom line is we need more from them. It’s their 3rd and 4th year in the program and while we always get continually good effort and defense from them, we need more on the offensive side on a consistent basis. The fact is we were each their only D1 offer and they aren’t as complete a player as they should be. it’s only two games in and I think the staff still has a lot to figure out as it comes to putting the pieces together, but unfortunately Hunter has given me vibes a lot closer to Maishe Dailey rather than X Williams. We can’t afford to have missed on him with the exodus of Ali, Kalle, and Aziz. we need more form everybody on the team outside of X and Enrique right now.
  7. 30 for Bates vs Michigan. Dang.
  8. The offense was more understandable then defense IMO as he was doubled, but Tolu Smith had his way in the paint on offense. He's got to figure it out if the goal is to play in the league as he'll be undersized against just about everyone.
  9. N Johnson 0-2 for 0 points. Mitchell scored a bucket in garbage time. Replay is available on the app if anyone wants to watch. I'm watching the last 6 minutes now to see how the young guys look.
  10. Gotta be one of Enrique’s least effective games as a Zip. Think they are cheating an extra guy towards him because Tribble isn’t a threat to shoot. Would be ideal to have a 7 footer like Aziz for this game.
  11. Smith is tearing us up.
  12. Faster pace game seems to be benefiting us. Nice run here.
  13. Okay Hunter!
  14. Thinking a bit of both. We aren’t getting good looks and when we do, we miss wide open layups
  15. Can’t get anything going on offense. Freeman out with 2 fouls doesn’t help.
  16. Yup. Not his best game so far
  17. Yeah we need him to start coming along.
  18. Cochran is a really nice glue piece for Toledo.
  19. Just type in barstool. There is no s at the end.
  20. Toledo looking sloppy so far. Walker for UAB is a nice player but seems like kind of a chucker.
  21. Working flawless for me so far.
  22. Agreed. If that's not a sign of a special team with a great leader, I don't know what is.
  23. I know one thing, the win will carry momentum for attendance.* How could you attend that game and not want to go back? *Excluding the Muskingum type games...those are debatable to even be worth watching at home.
  24. Typical ESPN. Have a chance to highlight a student athlete persevering after a forgettable moment, but elect to pile on.
