  1. Haha I kinda wanted to play Virginia again, but mostly I'm happy to see Diego fail. Go Diego Go!
  2. I don't know why but I'm a little surprised to see Speas on that list. How many people on that projection do you think don't actually start on their respective teams?
  3. you just like it because of yours and Danny's cameo at 0:27 I liked it though. I mean that MIGHT be part of the reason I enjoyed it but either way it's a very exciting, well put together video, and I could just watch it all the time from now until Sunday and be completely satisfied. Oh and I give up, who is this? Brian, Anna's bf. Been noticing you posting here lately and never said anything lol Hi Brian
  4. Ok so first of all I'd like to say that I, like many people, doubted Nitro's abilities. But man, was he on fire tonight. Kudos to you Nitro. Alright now what happened to McKnight? I KNOW KD said that Euton was red shirting this year, mainly because he and McKnight were similar players. Now tonight Euton burns his redshirt and McKnight is nowhere to be seen. Would KD really waste a year of having Euton around because McKnight was going to be missing for one game? I feel as though there is something more going on here.

  6. Oh my gosh! That's the answer! All we need to do is somehow make it so Steve Zakuani is Barack Obama's aunt and then he can play soccer for the US National Team! What a great proposition, you should see what you can do about making it happen.
  7. Well it appears as though my buddy Nik has made a liar out of me and that Euton and Green will be redshirting this year. I just wanted to be the one to admit I was wrong before someone else does it for me. I'm a little surprised by this since it seemed like last week Euton was getting more minutes than Egner, but tonight I thought Egner was good (except for his two missed dunks...yikes). Anyway that is the last time I post info I hear that isn't certain, even when it seems like the source is one that couldn't be mistaken.
  8. Michael Balogna is no substitute for Kofi, I wish he would hurry up and get better already
  9. *Spoiler Alert* Here I just settled the debate for guys. I'm sitting next to Nik in class and I just asked him who is red-shirting this year. He said that because two of the spots on the roster are occupied by guys who can't play, no one is red shirting this year. In a sense, those guys take away spots normally reserved for red shirts, and so it makes sense to have more players available. MAYBE he is mistaken, but it just makes sense to me that a player on the team is a reliable source.
  10. I heard the same rumor. I don't know what Rasor's source was either, but mine was me talking to Nik, so I feel like that is a pretty reliable source. I would really like to see him stay but I think he wants to go back home and start making some $$$
  11. Last time I saw Tim on the court was a month or so ago at the Rec ruining the opposition. Just like this John Carroll game, you don't realize how talented Akron basketball is until you watch them play against guys who thought they were hot stuff in high school etc, etc... Yeah, I wasn't close enough to get in on that game... Although, it would be fun to see how one could fare against a legit Div. I basketball player. Tim is an awesome basketball player, just as any players are that can make it on Coach D's squad. From everything I have heard and seen he seems like a good guy, I think it's great that he is still involved with the program
  12. I'm mad because Tim Carroll didn't get to play. I don't care if he isn't a player anymore, I wanted to see some TC. I could see him over there on the bench, in his tie and sweater vest, itching to go in, knowing that a year ago, this would have been the type of game he would have been all over. Haha but in all honesty, this was a really fun game to watch. I know right now Dambrot probably has his heart set on McNees at the point with D-Rob at SG, but I really liked Abreu and McNees in together. When I heard Nitro would be starting I was skeptical because of his performance last year. In the first half he resembled his self from last year but in the second half he showed up to play. On the other hand, Diggs was fun to watch and could maybe give Brett a run for his money. Nik was great, Zeke has improved, and how scary it must have been for that little JCU team having him AND Bardo in at the same time. No one has really mentioned that everything that happened tonight happened without McKnight. His presence could probaby change things a little. Oh and disclaimer, I'm by no mean basketball expert, or even a novice haha. But that is what I saw, and I enjoyed it.
  13. This season will be a disappointment w/o a true PG. We will be hamstrung with McClanahan at the 3. We can do better with what we have. Bardo is Bardo. Under the stress of competition he will not be much better than last year. For his inate ability he is under-achieving. If this starting five stays the same, we are in for a very long, tough season. KD always shifts around the starting 5 throughout the season, there's probably a good chance one or two of these new guys could be starting eventually. If I recall correctly, Zeke didn't start right away last season either. I wouldn't be surprised if by the time we hit MAC play, we have a different starting 5. Maybe Abreau eventually starts at PG and McNees is shifted to SG. Likewise I would hope to see someone else starting at the 3 spot by some point in the season. That is, unless Nitro has improved significantly. Either way, I am pumped for the first basketball game!
  14. I was wondering about the exact same thing. Nanchoff always starts, what was the reason for him not playing an entire half? And not only did Caldwell not start, he didn't play the entire match. Really peculiar. I didn't start watching until I realized the game was online, when there was about a half hour left, so maybe I missed this too, but the box score lists Enrique as playing 0 minutes and having one shot on goal, what was up with that? The thing that I couldn't help but wonder, and maybe this was probably just coincidence, but could Kofi's absence from the field have effected the team that greatly? I think I am just making excuses for the team's loss, but if we can just say that him not playing somehow led to this, at least that really supports the argument for him being the most deserving of the Hermann Trophy!
  15. haha same here
  16. I had a chance to speak with Coach Porter last night and he mentioned that NIU is out of the running, which is good to hear since they sometimes manage to give us a little bit of trouble. He also said that Kofi hyperextended his leg and will likely be out for the next game.
  17. Yeah exactly! They even said the other night during senior night that Ampai had always dreamed of playing American football in college, but he didn't make UA's football team so he had to settle for playing soccer and being the best player in the nation. What a failure.
  18. Yeah I'd say we're pretty dominant against MAC teams but really that doesn't say a whole lot because of how sub par most of those teams are. What I am more proud of/impressed by is the fact that we beat what was the number 2 team in the nation 4-0 and that we embarassed a Big 10 team 7-1. But to drive your point home, here is an article about post season projections that I think you will all find informative and hilarious
  19. It was their assistant coach with the baseball cap on. I think it was this guy, but I'm not sure. I'm still shocked that a coach would do something like that. Guess we did our job and got under their skin. lol Haha yup that's the guy that I was thinking of. He was really getting mad. So then he sent one of the other assistants who was a much better sport. And after looking on the link you just sent me, I was trying to figure out who the older guy was who was on their staff, because he was really cool and very friendly and he kept asking when the drums were going to be there. It turns out he actually played soccer for Brazil's national team! Too bad his talents couldn't help Michigan tonight...actually its not too bad at all, because we won 7-1.
  20. Do you remember which guy it was? Because there was one guy with a little lighter hair doing this for a while and he seemed to be extremely irritated and then after a while another guy with darker hair came over and seemed to be a much better sport about it. I felt like the first guy sent the other one to do it because he was so mad. Also, unlike some other keepers, Chris was actually playing along with our giving him a hard time. Well, at least he was BEFORE the game
  21. I was also there. The 5-1 final score, in Ann Arbor, was awesome. I must admit that when the Zips defeated Michigan in the Spring at Ultimate Soccer Arenas, I remember at least 1 UM player shaking hands with 2 Rowdies on the sideline after the game and saying he would see them in Akron in the Fall. From what I could overhear, it sounded like a very classy acknowledgment of the AK-Rowdies involvement in the game vs little-to-none from his own fans (in his own state). I was one of the four ROWDIES that made the trip to Pontiac for that tournament. It ended up being a blast, especially because I won a raffle and received a Jabulani. I don't remeber a player talking to us, but there was a Michigan fan who if I recall, mentioned he played soccer with Perry at I forget what level. As the four of us walked down to our end that kid said "yeah Akron!" and high fived each of us. He came down later and asked when the rest of us ROWDIES we're going to be there haha. He was surprised to hear there were only four of us coming after all of the students that showed up last year. After chatting with us for a bit he said "well I'm gonna go back to my seat and watch you guys destroy us," then he took of the Michigan vest he had on. What a great sport. Hopefully we get a big turnout tomorrow night I could be wrong, but I swore there was a Michigan player, at the very end of the game, who walked around the right end of the field (as you faced the pitch from the seats) and stopped long enough to say he would see you in Akron in the Fall. I'm probably wrong. I did remember there were 4 of you, but I only remember 2 on the sideline when the Michigan player walked by. You're probably right. I just remember the one fan, but a player probably came up while I was running around doing something stupid and I don't remember it. Also, towards the end of the tournament, the 13 year olds behind us, who had been making fun of US the whole game, were at that point gawking over the soccer ball I had won. Maybe I was busy entertaining them. Either way, between the fan and the player, I was surprised by their class. Probably because it was just Spring season. We'll see if any players come up to congratulate us after tonight's game
