  1. Yes, TennZip. Morgan Hackworth's calm decisions were sorely missed in 2019.
  2. As freshmen go, I would call Mani Austmann the surprise pick of the litter, followed by highly touted Will Jackson.
  3. Yes. Hiking at the moment, so I cannot list the years. For most of a decade, as I recall.
  4. And the brutal OOCS is what makes us nationally relevant, something we cannot claim in any other team sport.
  5. After deserving the award for at least three out of the previous seven seasons, it is cruelly ironic that Jared Embick is MAC COTY upon turning in his worst season as HC. The answer to fixing MAC Soccer is not to shrink the field of participants, but to add quality provisional members, such as U of Kentucky.
  6. @malonepioneer12 Sorry. Out of Likes (so dumb). I agree with nearly all your points, except one. You are really de- valuing Ben Lundt’s contribution over the previous three seasons. Only in his absence do we realize how good a GK Ben Lundt is. I am just as guilty of under-appreciating Ben. But I can clearly see it now. No Zips GK has yet eclipsed Evan Bush, but I would put Ben Lundt second on that list. Onward and Upward!
  7. Corner Kicks. Execute them efficiently. We had thirteen last night vs. BGSU, with no score! Thirteen! Most offense is designed to get off a cross from wide into the box. So, a short kick should only occur to immediately get a different angle on a cross from wide into the box. Taking a short CK just to pass it around the horn is a tremendous and unacceptable waste of opportunity. Corner Kicks. Defense them rigorously. This is where men are separated from boys. How many CK goals surrendered in 2019? Zonal CK Defending does. Not. Work. Stop it! Need to be at least partially man to man. Zips coaching should drill CK defense EFD!!! Ad nauseum! Corner Kicks. There. I just fixed Zips Soccer.?
  8. Skye Harter made a strong case tonight that his absence this season really affected the team more than we fans recognized. Thanks, Skye. You can hold your head high, knowing that you left it all on the pitch.
  9. AKR 0-1 BGSU FT Zips miss NCAA tourney for first time since 2006. The A-Roo flag that flies from my front porch is coming down very early this year. And I don't like it. One nightmare of a season!
  10. Daniel Strachan deserves to be on MAC First Team. If you think otherwise, you are not watching the matches.
  11. Notice that Nagbe had no discernible jersey number in that video? I wonder why.
  12. Akron Zips HC, you know the one NOT Caleb Porter, just won his 100th.
  13. Is Mountaineer TV live stream a free broadcast?
  14. Amen! The MAC tourney is back where it belongs! Now, let’s do something with it!
  15. Wildcats were clearly the better side in this contest. Congrats to Bees ? on a great run!
  16. No. 5 Akron Suffers Heartbreaking End To Their Season With 2-1 Double OT Loss To No. 4 Buffalo. https://gozips.com/news/2019/11/3/womens-soccer-no-5-akron-vs-no-4-buffalo.aspx?path=wsoc
  17. Zips need to beat somebody on the road. Anybody will do.
  18. Unfortunately, I cannot tell you exactly when Diogo Pacheco entered the contest late in the second half. But I can tell you that the offensive tempo increased dramatically. His impact on the final result cannot be overstated.
  19. That was Crazy!!! And also very cold.
  20. Big props to first year HC Sinisa Ubiparipovic. Once a Zip; always a Zip. http://www.csuvikings.com/sports/m-soccer/coaches/ubiparipovic_sinisa?view=bio "The first-ever player from Akron to be drafted in the MLS SuperDraft, Ubiparipovic began his collegiate career at fellow Horizon League member UIC before transferring to the Zips program after one season. Ubiparipovic was a two-time All-American for Akron and was named the 2006 Mid-American Conference Player of the Year under then head coach Caleb Porter. Ubiparipovic scored 42 goals as a collegian, including a career-high 17 during his junior season. He was inducted into Akron’s Sports Hall of Fame in the fall of 2018."
  21. Embarrassing!
